Back in the days of disco there was a very dodgy looking dancer named Grant Santini so my mates called me Santino to wind me up. It obviously stuck as some of them still call me that today.

Pears was a nickname at Uni, still used by that circle of friends. Long, fruit-based story.

27 is the magic number. People have a natural intrinsic inclination towards it. See how many times a "randomly" selected number by an actual person turns out to be a sub-conscious choice of 27. More than any other number, I promise.

My old Betfair name was adidap, which stood for All Day I Dream About Poker.

So tell us the story...

Really? It"s one of those "sound like it should be interesting but really isn"t" jobs.

In my student house of four, three of us were called Paul. The other, Gareth, was sick of answering the phone to people who asked if Paul was there. One Paul already had the nickname Peaches for reasons that are even more boring and long-winded than this one. So we got assigned other fruit starting with P to follow suit.

The other lad ended up as Plums, so I think I actually ran pretty well.

Told you.

Suprisingly it has nothing to do with my tendancy to "snap".

As a Dublin native living and working in my adopted home Drogheda, my accent stood out just a tad, this at a time when

Roddy Doyles Dublin based "The Snapper" was released as a TV film. The nickname stuck.

Never noticed you had an accent.

A cracking movie, even if my sister hadn"t been in it. If you really bored, she is in the blue top in the hospital bed from 7.10 to 7.11 of Part 2. You have to be quick to glimpse her!

Got the knickname the fat cat when i was playing footy in goal for a five a side team.

I think it was ironic as i am blatently a finely tuned athletic machine.

And a lightweight.

In the days when we watched Corrie in homage to our northern routes, Jack Duckworth used to have all these silly liitle  names for Vera that made us laugh out loud.

Some would be cutsie and some not depending on Jack"s mood - whatever he called her, if Andy liked it I would get the same name for a few days ....."My little blowfly" was one of the ones that stuck "cos we thought it was funny.

Of all the nicknames I got it was one of the ones I didn"t mind in public and didn"t sound too girlie online ....

For reasons that escape me, by brother called me "Joker" when we were younger (nothing to do with the propensity of jokes, or looking like an ugly clown, I think). There were variations like Jokin" Joe and the Japester.

I used to teach in a house off the main school campus, at 161 Eastern Road.

So, Joker161.

jbworldwide pre dates APAT and has been a name I have used across the internet.

It comes from me listening to some Wu Tang Clan, Gravel Pit, one of them (I don"t remember who) shouts "Wu Tang Worldwide!, Guaranteed Son!" so I just took the Wu Tang out and put my initials in front J B Worldwide.

Video below, its at 5:50 just after a ninja battle;

I used to participate in the highly strenuous sport of Skittles. After a few noggins my voice could be heard echoing down the alley. Some of my fellow team members remarked I had a voice like a Foghorn. This was shortened after a period, hence Foggy

Back where I used to work and before the days of windows, we used to have four digit log in codes make up of our first initial and the first three letters of our surname.  I worked in an office with three other women, and our login names (or anagrams of them if they weren"t quite snappy enough) became our nicknames.  I was claw, m griffin was grim (or, affectionally, grimmy), s king was "skinny" and g gleeson was "girgle" or "gleg".  Fast forward a few years later and I"m signing up for my first online poker account.  Pretty uniformly I"d use the screen name clairep75 (my name, the initial of my, by then, first married surname, and the year of my birth), so that was what I chose for my account.  I then had to choose something else as a "screename" and was a bit stumped as I"d wanted to be clairep75.  I went for claw75 mainly due to lack of imagination.  When I joined the blondepoker forum a few months later it seemed to make sense to use the same name as on betfair (which was the only site i"d played on up til that point), and later when I joined other forums like APAT I"ve stuck with it for continuity.

anyone still awake?

MintTrav was an ancient Irish warrior who carried out many acts of bravery and, as every schoolchild in Ireland knows, is best known for putting the frighteners on the Sassanachs.

Really?

I always assumed that as Top Cat was the leader of the Stockton Massiv that you all had feline nicknames and was expecting others to follow suit with names like "Stockton Rock Cat", "Baldie Cat" and "Always bitching and Moaning about getting outdrawn Cat"
