Strange personal facts tonight, following on from informing Ian "Pables" Thompson on another thread that I once had the indignity of singing naked in The Iron Horse bar in Glasgow at their Friday night karaoke. It was a very unfortunate rendition of Queens "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" during my stag night many years ago, in order to get my clothes back from my mates.
When I was about 5 years old, babysitters went out leaving myself and my younger sister at home alone for a while. I proceeded to set fire to our bedroom whilst attempting to light the gas fire with some comics
Any older generation forumites may recall a nylon bed throw that I believe was called a candlewick, which when ignited became flamable in a very short space of time, then dripped along our carpet setting that on fire into the bargain - Thankfully I had a little sense left to get my sister out of the house then phone 999. What I recall from this call was "which service do you require please?"..........my reply was along the lines of "FIRE FIRE FIRE FIIIIIIIIIRE"
On a lighter note - I"ve been on TV 3 times in my life, once using the name of "Andy Franks" while drunk in a Scottish TV sports debate show. The others were Play Away when I was 10 years old and National Lottery show 2 years ago, shame I was only in the audience though, a wee holiday would"ve been nice
I"ve also been on John Beattie"s Radio Scotland show earlier this year and made a few appearances in Scottish newspapers for different reasons, none of them as "the accused"
