Sometimes in your short time on earth
You have short bursts of fanatical mirth
But, to be honest, in the main
You have long bursts of unbelievable pain

So when your life changes, as you wither
You are afraid to embrace it, you dither
This is not happening to me, you think
I am not worth it, as lower you sink

Well I have some news for you, you nutter
It's time to wake up, get out of the gutter
Embrace today and let's look to the future
Life is for living, the moment to nurture

So get on with it and don't make me mad
Because if you don't, that would be bad
You will be grand, tell the world feck it
Jaxie it is then, now, where's me bucket

Yeah, all good, congratulations etc etc. I never knew Ger was a poet either.

Now, onto the important business, when are you getting to Cardiff (Friday?) as I need to have a congratulatory drink ready for you, Guinness in the Irish bar should work. As it seems Dawn isn"t coming to Cardiff (*shakes head*) your gonna have to drink hers too.

On another note, having worked out the exact amount of run good one person is allowed in a life time it seems you have recently totally exhausted your supply (and actually owe quite a bit back). Therefore you are going to get knocked out early meaning I will have somebody to go for a beer in Cardiff with on Saturday.

Still trying to think of something amusing to write in this bit.

Cheers Steve me darlin".

If I knew that it would put me in this position now, I"d gladly have gone out of every APAT I"ve played, first hand.

I look forward to having a drink with all my APAT mates, not too much mind. I"m a respectable couple now.

Congrats - have a lovely life together.

(If you"ve been trying to think of an appropriate way of thanking me for inviting Dawn to play for the Ireland team, thereby changing your life for ever, used tenners never offend.)

Cheers John. Superb selections if I may say so. And if I ever have any unrequired used tenners, consider "em yours.

...and if you ever want to thank me, for selecting John to select the Irish team for which i too was selected along with Dawn, then....ummm, sorry I forgot the point i was trying to make :) but, delighted for you both!

Errr, for those of you who aren"t friends of either me or Dawn on facebook, Dawn moves over to Leicester to live with me next Thursday 16th June. It"s 7 seven weeks since Newcastle but it seems like 7 months. I must say I"m quite looking forward to it :)

Because 8 days is such a long time in Jaxieland, we thought we"d better break it up with a weekend in Cork. So I"m nipping over to spend 3 days with Dawn on Friday till Sunday.

Good times.

What a lovely, relaxing weekend that was. It"s the first time that Dawn and I had been able to spend any appreciable time together just on our own doing normal, everyday things. It was great to stroll through Cork arm in arm without a care in the world; blissful in fact.

Final preparations are underway for Dawn"s arrival on Thursday. I"m a, errr, typical slob bachelor and the house was in need of a little titivating to get it to a respectable level for such an important event.

The decor & garden are also in need of much work but they"re longer term projects and ones that we"re relishing the prospect of tackling together. It"s gonna take time to get it looking good but we"re in no great rush.

It"d be nice to think that some of our APAT friends might visit at some point - ChezJaxie anyone?
