Spanish Ger is no more.

"Gerardrs" from Spain dominated the game.  First hand after the break and all the chips are in the middle.  I"ve got pocket Jacks, they"ve got AQ.

The queen high flop looks to be the death of me, but a luck Jack on the river leaves my opposition with 300 chips.

All in next hand and my A10 is good, so now I have a $16.50 SCOOP ticket instead.

One Jack was my friend, two Jacks was my downfall.

"provodnik001" from Russia was always in the lead here after I played a number of hands terribly, terribly bad.  The pressure was kept up and eventually it was AIPF, 66 v JJ.

No help for me this time, and I"m out in 20th, making do with a $16.50 SCOOP ticket.

So, that"s me played 3 of these WBCOOP so far, cashed in 2.  Will have to see how many of my remaining tickets I can use before they run out on Saturday.

Sneaked into the 11pm PLO Turbo WBCOOP last night and managed to cash for a $5 SCOOP ticket.

So that"s 3/4 cashes now.  I think I"m going to mamage to use up the tickets in teh next few days, but have just realised that the GRand Final that I"ve already qualified for on Sunday afternoon, I"m going to miss out on as I"m off to watch some Ice Hockey.  Might be able to squeeze a bit of play on the phone, but that"s hardly very sociable.   ;D

Just finished 11/222 in the WBCOOP Event 22 - PLO (6 Max)

My downfall was a terribly played hand of pocket aces by a guy I just had covered.  I hit two pair on the flop, all the chips went in for a pot over 100k, turn is a deuce, river is a deuce to give him a higher two pair.  SIGH.

Still, another cash, that"s 5 out of 6 now, so a $22 SCOOP ticket to add to the collection.

4 more tickets left to use up.  Will have to be either tonight or tomorrow, as got plans on the weekend.   ;D

Currently 14/95 in the WBCOOP Event 23 NLHE (Big Ante), so in the money.

Going to give the 11pm one a go aswell and try for the hat trick of cashes today.

It"s WBCOOP Event 24 NLO Hi/Lo (Turbo), so should be a game of pure skill  ;)

Eventually finished 3rd in the WBCOOP #23

Crazy situation on the final table.  When we get four handed, the chipleader gets disconnected.

First hand they add 240 seconds before folding the hand

Next hand they add 120 seconds

Then 60 seconds

Then 30 seconds

Then it times down 15 seconds every single hand, even though it shows that they are disconnected.

Made a bit of a farce of it.  Eventually the two of us that were playing got it AIPF TT v QQ.  Poor bloke from Mexico is probably still there now slowly nicking the blinds.

Seems a crazy way for the software to deal with a disconnect.  Always happy for players to have a decent chance to get back on, but surely after a few attempts they should just be treated as sat out and hands folded immediately ?

The NLO Hi/Lo Turbo was total carnage and went out early with two shocking hands.

Played 8, cashed in 6 and now have $132 worth of entries to the SCOOP.  Going to play my final two games on Friday.

There and Back Again, a WBCOOP Tale

Why the title ?  Because accompanying me through my WBCOOP adventure was the extended edition of Lord of the Rings.  Managed to run deep in a few of the tournaments, so managed to get through all three films.   ;D

And the results of my ten tournament tickets

2 x $5.50 SCOOP Entry
1 x $11 SCOOP Entry
2 x $16.50 SCOOP Entry
2 x $22 SCOOP Entry
1 x $55 SCOOP Entry

I make that $167 worth of SCOOP entries with an 8 out of 10 cashing rate.

The top 108 got paid in all these events, with between 200-300 runners in each one.  And the two I missed out on ?

Pot Limit 5 Card Draw
No Limt Omaha Hi/Lo Turbo

Need to work on those.  :D

All that"s left is the Grand Final on Sunday with a $5000 prizepool.  Everyone that"s cashed in the series gets a ticket for that, so it"s nearly has 600 registered already.

Unfortunately for me, it clashes with a trip to see a friend this weekend for a day of Six Nations Rugby and then an Ice Hockey game at the Bracknell Bees.  I might be able to play a bit of it before setting off for the ice hockey, we"ll see.

The other bonus for me is that I can use some of these SCOOP tickets to play the upcoming Micro Millions series on Pokerstars which runs from March 15th to March 25th.  There"s one hundred low buyin events with over $5 million in guarantees.

Won"t have to wait too long to try and spin up my ticket winnings into actual cash.

The one thing I wasn"t expecting from playing the WBCOOP was the amount of new blogs and tweets I would read and pick up.  There"s lots of people out there writing about poker and that for me is great.
