APAT Rankings Discussion
« on: December 05, 2007, 15:44:57 PM »
This thread can be used to discuss Season Two Rankings at National, Regional or Online level.

The winner of the APAT National Rankings will receive an expenses paid entry to the GUKPT Grand Final in 2008.

The winner of the APAT Regional Rankings will receive an entry to the World Amateur Poker Championship being played at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino over the August Bank Holiday weekend in 2008.

The winner of the APAT Online Rankings will receive an entry to the World Amateur Poker Championship being played at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino over the August Bank Holiday weekend in 2008.

APAT and Blue Square reserves the right to alter any of these awards if it becomes impossible to offer them, for awards of an equal value.  Entry is subject to the terms and conditions of APAT.

Wow. I"ve just realised that the points are split for each championship.

Excellent idea- might start playing a few more of those annoying 10$ events on blue Sq now  ::)

I missed the first few online games and due to work commitments can"t make them all anyway,  so I guess that excludes me from any chance of league success. It"s a long season, and there are still 30 online games to go..... I"ll probably continue to play them when I can as they are just of such a high standard and therefore feel like "real poker"..... but I guess the leaderboard will be beyond me and any other players who joins half way through.

Given that the season is so long, it would keep the interest of those who aren"t able to play every game if only the best xx results were to count, or something similar. I"m assuming there is no cap at present and that those who play more of the games have the edge?

You"d have thought so.

But in practice it doesn"t seem to be panning out quite like that.

The online rankings currently include the first 16 online tournaments - 2 people have scored in 4 tournaments, and 2 people have scored in 3 tournaments, the rest in less.

So with all the tournaments still to go, there is plenty of chance to make an impact - if you"re good enough.

Soon - and they were updated at the end of January (look at the last amended date)

It was only in February that it was pointed out that it"s only new posts (rather than amended) that will "flag" a thread as being updated, so only people who regularly checked the rankings would know that they"d been updated.

From now on I"ll make a post when I update to make it more obvious.

If you can recall the names of the tournaments where you reached the final tables, and the positions you finished in, I can look to see who we have in our records in those positions and see if there is an error.

Only those placed 1 to 9 receive points in the online games.

There are no points for the rankings from the satellites to the Nationals.

both my final tables will have been between 13th december and jan 31 st if that is any help, not sure which tournaments but i think they were consecutive tourneys.
played as hornibabe, possibly a 5th and 6th or something like that.

Just had a quick scan through the forum posts and Hornibabe definitely made final table in the Italian Open as there is a screen shot of that final table.  Can"t confirm position or the other finish.

Hope that helps.

We"ll look into and come back.  The only way you would not have been credited with the points is if BSQ were missing data for you, which seems unlikely, but possible.
