yep. i always get on the wrong side of a cooler. Just went broke to my own team captin when i turn an openended straight and a flush draw......i end up hitting the flush, but he has the nut flushhhh.

bloody suited connectors, they can get you into trouble somtimes when you hit the flsh and not the straight....lol >:(

Thought you might have folded there Will......an all-in push with a flush there, plus I aint gonna shaft my team-mate with a bluff there.
Unlucky though...agree with your sooted-connector comments.......great when you hit a straight AND flush as you did, but NOT against the nuts  :-\

i know, i evan said that you probably had it, added to the fact your not gonna bluff a teamate here.......

but when i was getting over 2-1 and the chance to doubble up (as i had lost half my stack anyway), on a unpaired board and only 3 hearts out there, the day i fold a flush in this spot is the day that i should not be playing poker.....

I always say "The people who talk most about pot-odds are usually watching"
You made the right read and still called.....where"s the value in that ?
Hopefully, as this League moves on, everyone will play it as a "team" competition as we do have a lot of players.
We were very unlucky not to make the points last night as we had 6 of the last 29 but then lost 2 on one hand from my table.
Our time will come.......oh and Will........I WILL remind you of this hand when we meet at the Poker Club in April !!   ;)

yes the more i think about it, i made a terrible call given the nature of the tourney. And your right about working as a team. It is the first time i have played in this league and must admit there have been a coupple of occasions when i was involved with a team member and i have had a very good hand, especially in the first leg when i was delt every big pair over and over during the first two levels.

In one hand i had aces in the BB, there was a raise UTG and then a re-raise from one of our players. usually i would try and trap one of them with a flat call, and hope that the original raiser pushes. but what if my team mate calls his push....??

this was tricky, but i felt that it best to over raise the pot and basically shut pot commit myself.....im sure it will get better for us though, as i think we have some very good players here.

I think I took him out and a few of his team m8"s I think, so anything I did smelt of fish after that :D I won with A,A three time and he said nowt but I lost with A,A against trips and he was over the moon saying I deserved it.

I had no arguments with the way I went out but took a lot of stick before from the player I raised with scouse telling him to raise my blinds most of the time, so I decided to make a stand with any sort of hand and it made his point that I was a fish in the end :(

Most of you guys know these players from previous games so I was in the dark, but I made a few notes so I cor wait till next game.
