Home Internationals Ireland 'A' and 'B'
« on: March 24, 2011, 07:41:26 AM »
Jumping on the thread bandwagon for this :) Delighted to be captain of the Ireland "B" team and congrats to John on being made captain of the "A".  Anyone interested in being considered for the Ireland teams should PM myself and MintTrav asap.  The event is starting to get close, so I"m sure we would both like to get teams sorted as quickly as possible.  Should be a great event!

Congrats both, look forward to seeing you all in Newcastle. I expect a couple of very good irish teams.

Morning everyone,

Unfortunately, I got a call from my parents this morning to say they had booked a family holiday for over Easter, leaving on the Friday.  I talked it over with them and a lot of people, and regretably, I feel that I have to pull out of the home internationals.  Living away from home, I feel I do have to put family first in these cases.

Anyone that knows me, will know how much it meant to me to be selected for this role, and it would not be an exageration to say that I am gutted I can not attend this.  I was looking forward to it immensely, especially with the amazing structure that was put forward.  I sincerely hope this will not affect my chances of being chosen for these events in the future.  Obviously this is a one-off scenario.

I have PM"d both Des and John the names of people who have come forward to me looking to play the event, and the other people I have contacted.  I hope a great team can be built up, and wish John and the new captain the best.  I can safely say I will be cheering them on from the other side of a computor screen.

Apologies, and good luck to all teams.  I sure it will be one of the best events on the calender.

I owe u all a drink...

There are, and always will, be more important things than Poker, and family is one of them. I am sure it was a heart wrenching decision. You will be sorely missed, however, poker can be a fleeting mistress, family are forever.
