Simon Turton is the APAT UK Amateur Champion 2007!

For the final hand, Simon pushed with  ad1  td and was called by Stuart who was holding  kh 9c

The board read  :2s: js 8d 8c ts meaning that Simon Turton wins with 2 pair and is the new APAT UK Amateur Champion!

Simon will take home £3,500 + Gold Medal + Trophy + GUKPT Event Seat for 2008, valued at £1,250.

For finishing in second place, Stuart takes home £2,250 and a Silver Medal.

Our congratulations for Simon, who started today with 3 big blinds and was the shortstack!

Well done to the new UK champ.  Amazing result to come back from so few chips overnight to win the whole thing.

Big up to bronze medalist Si Auckland.  Great performance mate, big bragging rights at the home game now.

Thanks to Des, Richard and APAT team for the tournament.

Well done Simon - the British Champion. Excellent comeback from todays starting position.

Fantastic weekend - enjoyed my one hand on the final table where my KK met AA.

Hope to see you all again in Cardiff - if the APAT team remembers Wales this time!! ;)

Thanks again to APAT for another great weekend - my poker wasn"t great but met up with some good people and had a blast - again.

Thanks to Shogun and The Duke for their hospitality and a great home game on Friday.

Well done to everyone who made the final day, the final table and the medallists. Congratulations to Simon Turton the new UK Amateur Poker Champion.

Finally a special well done to Rich Offless, a win, two final tables and three cashes in three tourneys - that boy"s got some game!

All in all , a fabulous weekend of poker guys...

some highly dubious calls and all in"s, but, that is the beauty of poker ...

well done to simon of course...

unlucky to stuart for not catching the ace or diamond...

however... you did catch one of four outs with that ten on the river!!!! absolute magic...and then you did crack those jacks straight after...

:)

congratulations to all that participated..

look forward to seeing you all very soon!
