£20 re-entry tourney at Walsall.....we are into Level 4 (100/200) with the re-entry period done with and the pot has 3 callers when I get   kh   kd  on the button and raise to 1200. UTG limper calls.

Flop comes   4c   6c    6s  and he checks. I decide to check behind.

Turn is   :2h:  and he checks again. I bet 1800......and he makes it 6800. I have 11,000 behind and he has me covered.

1. Do you call ?

2. What hand do you put him on ?

1. What hand do you put him on ? anything :) AA-22 56 67 AK AQ AXs SC"s sometimes maybe even wider, tough to say with no read on oppo"s ability etc

2. Would you call ? no, its fold or re-raise ai for me.. why? cos u checked the flop, oppo met think ur full of bs now u fire out on a deuce [plus his big rr sizing smells].. i prefer rrai cos the river can bring various scare cards [plus with our call he can/met shut down with all the hands we are beating on the turn as well as his air, he has the odds to call his FD"s on 4th street]

if he has setted up or tripped up, then heyho.....

question for u boing :) - did u think u had the best hand ?  what was your plan/reasoning for the flop onwards and on the turn, why pick a bet sizing of 1800 ?

As his limp calling range consists of alot of small pairs I would value bet flop. I occasionally check back paired boards with over pairs for deception when I don"t think I could get all 3 streets but prefer to do this on boards like QQ3 rather than 664ss. you are letting hands like 55 77 get to river cheaper when you are bound to get value on flop and certain cards can be scary to you and villain on turn.

As played folding would be ridiculous without some sort of ninja read, I would just call and put the rest in on most rivers. You could be beat by 22,44 and A6s/67s but loads of hands he does this with that you crush such as 77 etc. Only thing that worries me is that most villains would lead turn with a vulnerable hand such as a small overpair but your hand looks like bluff to villain as played so I would never fold
Looking forward to making my first day 2

you gave him a free card and its probably cost you dear.
I would"nt like the decision but i would call expecting to be beat by 22 or something unlikely like  :3c: 5c

I checked the flop for deception to give the impression I had A-K, A-Q or that my button-raise was a classic squeeze play gone wrong.

When I bet the innocuous turn and he re-popped, I think that my plan has worked and put him on a middle pair like 7-7 to   9-9 as I obviously hadn"t got a bigger pair as I checked the flop.

I gave it some thought and although he might have limped UTG with 2-2 or 4-4, i don"t think he would smash a big re-raise in like that if he was well ahead. Therefore my only worry is A-6 or a flush draw, so I shoved all-in. He was getting good odds to call now but he did give it some thought (about 5 seconds) before he flipped over......

ad1   8h    ..........for NO DRAWS and NO PAIR !!!!!

I am still gutted today.

I took my glasses off and said "What the hell were you thinking?"........just as the    :as:  hit the river.

I can honestly say that I have never had anything happen like that before in terms of such a bad call against a player (me) who 3 hands before had folded a full-house face-up to turned quads.

I think if you"re gonna go with it u gotta flat turn, give him a chance to spaz off with bluffs, though as it happened he did anyway. Meh.
