I accidentally exposed my hand during the Apat Scottish open 2 weeks ago.
I was first to act and raised with TT it folded to scouse who called my raise.
We had been talking about stack sizes during the hand and for some reason
i thought it was a showdown not realising there were TWO players still to act
I flipped over my hand :-[
TD got involved and I was told I could only call or check but not raise!
Turns out the two players folded and scouse checked to the river with 99.
Im glad no over cards flopped on the board.

Yeah i remember that Alex, no more betting out allowed. That"s the thing with poker though, sometimes you just have to go with the house ruling.

and thankfully you did cos with that low board could have got so messy !

Every time i have seen that happen that is exactly what happens if you expose cards you can only check or call . Although obviously they do it different whereever bri was !

Well done btw bri on bagging a seat

The ruling stinks IMO. You got a guy to fold that might still outdraw you. Whilst I know it wasn"t an angle, there are clever guys out there that could do exactly as you did and make it look like a mistake when they are really angling.
If the guy who does it also has headphones on and sunnies and say a sandy coloured corduroy cap and the TD made that call I would be mega fuming. How mad would the folder be if he had hit that river? TD is just asking for trouble.
I"m glad you got a penalty, but in my opinion the hand should have been called dead. Tough but pay attention.
We"ve been around this one before. Paulie will no doubt offer up his liberal democrat option  ;)

I would have expected DTD to call it live with no further action from you, as that is the most common thing these days.

Would it still be the same ruling if say.. the other guy was physically covering his cards, leading to all the confusion?
You can only play pocket jacks 3 ways, all of which are wrong.

It's only a gambling problem if you are losing :D

Ruling should be the same but with a warning to the guy covering his hand.

And if the player who makes the mistake has a false right eardrum sitting in seat 1 when the player in seat 9 mumbles only enough for the dealer to hear him????
