Title: Weird Hand
Post by: AMRN on November 14, 2011, 11:13:08 AM
Not a bad beat post - just a strange one to share.   Was playing a 350 runner MTT last night - top 40 get paid. There are 46 left, and I"m sat 12th.

Managed to get all in preflop in a 5 way showdown (unreal when just 6 from the bubble!) with QQ v KJ, AK, AK, and AK!

I min-raised UTG, UTG+1 (shortstack) shoved his KJ, and got three flat callers - I reshoved to isolate the all in player, but all three called with their AK.

So there is just one overcard to avoid - all the Kings are out and only one Ace left. Happy days! Win this hand and I would be massive chip leader on the bubble.

Flop came 22Q - pretty much the nuts, or so I thought.

I lost the hand and was knocked out.....  go figure!

Has to be 2-2 runner, that cancels your queen, with an Ace high winner......................tough one mate

Sounds like 888, I got runner runnered 3 times last night (and only played 3 tourneys) but that"s a real sicko Steve  >:(

Was it the 2/2 or was one of the AK"s suited? I had a similar 1 playing live in the Glasgow Merchant a couple of years ago with 8/8 on a 4/4/8 flop against A7 and runner runner 4"s busted me out lol

Obv you should have just flat called the shove and shoved the flop  ;) ...... unless the KJ took the hand with AT suited turn and river  :o  :o

screenshot pls  :-*

nb obv AK would fold shoved flop  :-\

nevertheless mucho unlucky Steve

AKs hitting a flush couldn"t win the hand - I had flopped a house.

Yes it was 888, although that"s irrelevant.... it"s just an RNG orgasm.

After the flop I was a 99.865% fave.  Each of the AK hands had just 0.045% equity (for a split pot).

didn"t get a screenshot - I had trouble hitting the right key whilst my laptop was bouncing off the lounge wall.  What"s worse - I still have the Save Hand History option turned off because of the PLO8 crashing issue (that is now resolved)!

Seems pretty standard to me. Run better please :D

But seriously, I have heard stories of this type of beat but never seen it. Shame you couldn"t show enough composure to take a screenshot!
