Congratulations to both players for reaching heads up. Both have been long standing and successful APAT players.
Micky took Gold in Season 1 (Jun 2007), winning the World OnLive Championship played out at the Victoria Casino in London. Then, as part of the Scottish team, Micky took Silver in the 2008 European Amateur Team Championship.
Andrew took 6th place in the Season 2 (Nov 2007) English Amateur Championship, then 5th in the Season 4 (May 2009) Irish Amateur Championship, before taking Gold at the HORSE event at the World Championship of Amateur Poker just 3 months later.
Good luck to both.

Congrats to Mickey P, a genuinely nice bloke who deserves success.
Great performance by the Todmeister....this is the first time (hopefully not the last) that the BCPC has sent a player to Las Vegas for a week and Tod has brought us back some winnings.

Been away all weekend. Just read the whole of the Day 1 & 2 threads, excellent reportage !
-
Jealous as hell that I couldn"t go (a mix of not being able to afford it, and not having the holiday from work available) - sounds like an awesome trip.
I wonder how long til the rumblings start though - an APAT event in the UK would have got 200 runners... in Vegas it got 95, of which 60+ travelled 7000 miles to play it.
Love Tighty"s blog posts - more please.
PS Is Vegas further away and more expensive to travel to than any British venues, say Brighton perhaps? ;D ::)
-
Congrats Micky great result ;D
-
Was rooting for Tod - another great run matey, but chuffed that Mr P won it - always good when one of the nice guys wins.
Congratz Micky
-
Well done Mickey fantastic performance, have a guid drink to celebrate.

Sounds like a rumbling to me.
Well done Mickey P. Well deserved win for a thoroughly nice bloke.
Congrats to Andrew and Steve, and all the final tablists. Congrats to Caesars for surviving it :)
-
Sounds like a rumbling to me.
LOL no I"m not rumbling - I"m just jealous that I couldn"t get there..... just putting the stirring spoon into play ;)
-
There is no need for a rumble
Due to a lack of communication/realisation on my part Caesars kept their £15k gtd 1 day event on alongside the APAT. It got 130 runners, the majority of Vegas players wanting to play a 1 day event.
If it had been taken off for the day, we"d have had most of them playing the APAT
We"ll know better for next time

Great pics!
-
Wow, Micky gets his own professional photo shoot. Be careful, all champions will be expecting "on location" publicity in the future. ;)
-
Well done MickyP !!!!

First day back in the UK. I had SUCH a good time in Vegas, and was well chuffed with binking 5th in the APAT (sorry again, Jack!). Was a truly awesome atmosphere on both days - have rarely had such fun playing MTT poker. A highlight for me was the Scouse v Maniac American play-and-banter on the first day. A lowlight was the quite horrendous strawberry vodka drink that Dawn got me drinking. ;D
Well done to Micky for the win - very well deserved - and also to Steve and Andrew for medalling. And finally thanks to Tighty for the organising and pisstaking. ;D ;D ;D
Your servant, Tod Donnie

A lowlight was the quite horrendous strawberry vodka drink that Dawn got me throwing all over myself
