Coventry can be booked etc

A few other venues are confirmed, DTD and Ireland

All others are very close, in all cases just gone to the top to be rubber stamped

TBA should be confirmed early next week

As ever, we will try to keep changes in date or venue to an absolute minimum, hopefully none

I will let the forum know as and when each venue is 100% confirmed

You may notice we"ve increased the starting stacks in the main events to 15,000 chips and there will be a 1pm start on Sunday to compensate.

there was debate for and against this one - I was getting the feeling it wouldn"t be changed from 10k...... awesome result!  bigger starting stacks gives yet more value for the very low priced buy in - love it!

Also love the fact that the online nationals are on William Hill - iPoker and Pokerstars are the two best networks around, and we get both!!!

To be determined Ian, but there will be no shortage of takers.

Assume England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and defending Champions Poland will all be invited, plus three others.

Does that imply same structure as last season, if so big  :D

But mainly thanks for great schedule and incorporating the general consensus among the very recent suggestions. Nice one!

William Hill have been very supportive guys, and we need to see you returning that support during our partnership with them.  There"s lots of activity planned and they have a really great site - so I"m looking forward to seeing lots of you sign up through APAT.  Remember, we couldn"t do it with our partners; and they wouldn"t do it without you.

You can use the banners placed througout the site and quote bonus code "apatpoker".

Thanks everyone - it"s going to be a great season!

Well they are the defending UK and World Amateur Team Champions, but Poland won the last European Team Championship, and what a cracking couple of days that was.

Italy have also confirmed their entry since the announcement was made leaving two spots open.

See no reason why late entry wouldn"t be allowed for the first few levels

In practice capacity for the event depends on how many tables from the main event are clear by 8.30pm

I"d guesstimate 50+ would be fine, and the number of available tables is is really the only factor that might late entry for the 8.30pm game....

Coventry vs Peterborough that Saturday

Two Midlands leviathans battling in front of crowds of eager football fans....

In practice, this means the following

- Parking on the day is in the car park opposite the casino, the other side of the dual carriage way, until 6.30pm
- book hotel rooms a bit earlier than you normally would if staying in the Ricoh hotel
-plenty of football fans in casino after match for the 8.30pm rejoicing in Coventry City"s latest triumph as they roar away from bottom of the table.Perhaps.

Word of warning (hopefully not suck eggs):

Just spoken De Veres @ Ricoh, as they have very reasonably priced rooms.

HOWEVER

If you checkin on the Fri night with a view to leaving on the Sun AM, you will still have to vacate your room and check back in on the Saturday PM (1945 hrs onwards). They use the rooms as boxes during the game.

...on the plus side those rooms may afford you the opportunity to enter the stadium beyond midnight if you"ve brought a ball, or something...  ::)

Look forward to Coventry... the Stockton Massive were there a few weeks back for the Boro game, hoping that they"ll let us back and haven"t checked the CCTV footage of our room barricading exploits after they foolishly left the door open to the storage room   :P Fantastic venue though, great accommodation, great casino.

You may notice we"ve increased the starting stacks in the main events to 15,000 chips and there will be a 1pm start on Sunday to compensate.

;)

1.00pm start on Sunday... great idea.

Also loving an extra 5k chips to splash around with!

Ty for asking about reload bonuses

...

APAT will operate National Amateur Rankings and National Online Rankings in Season Six, with a maximum of eighteen ranking points available to the winners of Main Events and a maximum of nine ranking points available to the winners of WCOAP, ECOAP and Online side events. A seat at a professional level event will be awarded to the winners of both Ranking titles.

I"m trying to get the term player of the year to catch on as a title to win :D

So that would be APAT Live Player of the Year and APAT Online Player of the Year maybe?

So any other options?

Small subject change,

Has the Pub Team Challenge been removed from the calender then ?

It didn"t make the initial cut.  There is one gap in the schedule late in the season and we"ll review whether to put something in there later in the year.

Much appreciate the quick reply Des

A bit gutted it hasnt been included TBH,as Blackpool was a cracking weekender  but the season as a whole looks awesome

Thanks for all your excellent work on this

No problem Graham, I"d like to see it bounce back at some point, but with some changes in the format.

I  note that a Edgeware Cricket and BCPC are also looking at this one with regret. Met some great people at the event and I think it brings fresh blood into APAT.
I note that some of the ""old guard"" dont like it but you have to keep moving to stand still

as a publican i was also looking forward to the pub event as were a number of my customers as i was hoping to have a team from both my pubs in london entered if it had been possible,  i have not told any of them yet that is will not be on this season  just in case as des said in earlier post  if it was possible to fit it in later in the year they would see what could be done, but it is impossible to please everyone   and in my opinion they have created and excellent  season 6 programme

I can"t even login! The password I was using yesterday when I deposited into the account wasn"t working so I requested a reset, now I"m getting a message "Sorry there is no response from the game server"

Just found out this is because I am subject to a random ID verification they have suspended my account until I supply documentary evidence. Just hope they sort it before tomorrow.

Hey everyone. Yes, I"m a Newbie. APAT series 6 appears to be "Excellent". Any chance of having any tourneys in the North East.   Nottingham is probably the closest to me but its still a fair few miles away.

Too late for this series but maybe worth a look at in future.

Welcome along

APAT has held two events in Newcastle previously, and we would do so again happily (Aspers)

We try to make the schedule as geographically diverse as possible, albeit there are always a number of factors that play into that

i"m a bit behind however delighted to see the new season announced and very happy. nice work des, richard and co.
i see six events this year (and 2 next year) however a good spread.
from a personal point of view it looks like my two favourite events seem out of reach: DTD august bank holiday weekend- british speedway grand prix in cardiff; and was quite disappointed irish event didnt return to dublin.
i see that there is one team event scheduled. i hope its not a forum or pub one as i feel this doesnt cater for the regular APAT players. i would like the team event to be a regional live event as an extension of the online league. eg 8 man teams with at least 5 players chosen based on individual points gained for their respective teams. if some one cant make it the place goes to the 6th place or 7th etc. the other 3 can be chosen by the captain (eg if some captains arent very good at scoring points they can still put themselves in). how ever if it a pub or forum bsed event i would like to put my name forward for ant team that is  short ::)
didnt realise that there would be different sponsors for each event as i would have deposited far less in my william hill account.
any way once again really looking forward to the coming season and will play as many as possible and thanks to des and richard and the APAT team.
SEE YOU ALL IN COVNETRY (won a seat in the sattelite last night ;D)

Actually there aren"t....Les Croupiers MOVED from in town to their new premises some time ago. Google Maps is out of date.

They are in Leckwith Road. I have the travel tips ready to go but I don"t want to put them up until everything is set and the tourney thread is live.

If you search for S5 Travel Tips for Cardiff...that should give you a clue.

We"re all waiting but I"m not expecting any official word until the end of November.

Usual format would be for forums/groups to apply to be included but a set date.

Once the allowed teams are announced them they can submit teams of (from memory) 6 - 8 members depending on how many teams are let in.

Last year was 25 teams of 8 people so you can take that (FWIW) as a base.

Teams were of 8 players. Last year if I recall 2 teams did not turn up on the day which is a pain for others and considering its a selected event of teams/forums etc

Will APAT consider increasing team size back to original teams of 10 players if they feel the event will not be fully subscribed?

I have no doubts that this was a concern for Des last year.

Perhaps making teams pay up-front well before the date would stop this from happening?
