What she said.
My internal guess about the first venue was spot on.
-
Another site to log onto but hey..so what... APAT onwards and upwards...
-
Is registration on the day possible rather than regging online?
-
Fantastic...
Well Done Des and Tighty.
Never let us down.
WP.
-
Ohhhh, season 6...coming soon.
-
Coventry can be booked etc
A few other venues are confirmed, DTD and Ireland
All others are very close, in all cases just gone to the top to be rubber stamped
TBA should be confirmed early next week
As ever, we will try to keep changes in date or venue to an absolute minimum, hopefully none
I will let the forum know as and when each venue is 100% confirmed
-
Worth the wait!!!!!!!!!!!!
-

Reg online only I"m afraid Lee.

B@lls. Forgot to say a monster TYVM to Des. As always he got it done even if we"re gonna have to re-schedule the Chezger home game.
-
You may notice we"ve increased the starting stacks in the main events to 15,000 chips and there will be a 1pm start on Sunday to compensate.
;)
-
Which 8 countries will be contesting the Euros in August ?
-
Brilliant that. As long as dec 1/2 is in north/midlands I can play em all (not allowed hols in dec boo). He tints shiny new Sheffield casino would be nice or g manchester pls :-)
Is it 15k stack for every live main? Very pleased if it is.EDIT: I SEE IT IS TYVM
Looking forward to Coventry already.
Get In!!!

;)
there was debate for and against this one - I was getting the feeling it wouldn"t be changed from 10k...... awesome result! bigger starting stacks gives yet more value for the very low priced buy in - love it!
Also love the fact that the online nationals are on William Hill - iPoker and Pokerstars are the two best networks around, and we get both!!!

On it already.....
-
Which 8 countries will be contesting the Euros in August ?
To be determined Ian, but there will be no shortage of takers.
Assume England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and defending Champions Poland will all be invited, plus three others.

+1 abso fab and a massive Thank You to Des and Tighty.

Does that imply same structure as last season, if so big :D
But mainly thanks for great schedule and incorporating the general consensus among the very recent suggestions. Nice one!
-
Loving it Des. Hoping to make at least a few this year. ;)
One question... are the online games all gonna be £33 buy ins?
Oh and a big +1 on the TYVM for bringing a really exciting looking tour ;)

I think the Welsh boys might take issue with that :)

William Hill have been very supportive guys, and we need to see you returning that support during our partnership with them. There"s lots of activity planned and they have a really great site - so I"m looking forward to seeing lots of you sign up through APAT. Remember, we couldn"t do it with our partners; and they wouldn"t do it without you.
You can use the banners placed througout the site and quote bonus code "apatpoker".
Thanks everyone - it"s going to be a great season!
Des.

Well they are the defending UK and World Amateur Team Champions, but Poland won the last European Team Championship, and what a cracking couple of days that was.
Italy have also confirmed their entry since the announcement was made leaving two spots open.
-
Looks fantastic and loving the 8.30pm game. Will there be late entries for this or are all the shortstacks going to be shoving at 8.15?
-
Well done Des/Tighty, superb announcement, enough said.
-
Looks fantastic and loving the 8.30pm game. Will there be late entries for this or are all the shortstacks going to be shoving at 8.15?
See no reason why late entry wouldn"t be allowed for the first few levels
In practice capacity for the event depends on how many tables from the main event are clear by 8.30pm
I"d guesstimate 50+ would be fine, and the number of available tables is is really the only factor that might late entry for the 8.30pm game....
-
Good job Des and Rich !
-
Right got me room for Coventry, by the way the footie team are at home that day so get there early for the parking. Ok next step get a seat, see you all at the sats. I hope I sound excited cos I bloody am.
-
that"san important point
Coventry vs Peterborough that Saturday
Two Midlands leviathans battling in front of crowds of eager football fans....
In practice, this means the following
- Parking on the day is in the car park opposite the casino, the other side of the dual carriage way, until 6.30pm
- book hotel rooms a bit earlier than you normally would if staying in the Ricoh hotel
-plenty of football fans in casino after match for the 8.30pm rejoicing in Coventry City"s latest triumph as they roar away from bottom of the table.Perhaps.
-
Fantastic.........
Looks just great.....
Cheers guys....chuffed at Glasgow alea especially..
-
Nice one Des and Tighty, as always, played a blinder! Thanks guys. :)
-
Well done to all concerned, looks fantastic! Excellent to incorporate some of the feedback from the discussion thread it means a lot. Just off to dust off my William Hill login details, does their site run on MAC OSX yet?
Might check out the 71Rooms for crash pad ...
-

Reg online only I"m afraid Lee.
OK will reg via that. Need to think hard for an iPoker name as I have so many accounts lol
ps. great work guys, this looks fantastic. Rejigging life/poker diary to make this one of my main efforts :)
-

Give it a while...I"ll be putting up a Travel Tips things later today...found a nice deal fairly close.

Sure Brian will be in soon for one of the other spots. Does The Black Country count as a European Country? After all, they do have their own language! ;)
-
Good stuff, just hope I can make an appearance this season because I like the new format of the weekend
-
Word of warning (hopefully not suck eggs):
Just spoken De Veres @ Ricoh, as they have very reasonably priced rooms.
HOWEVER
If you checkin on the Fri night with a view to leaving on the Sun AM, you will still have to vacate your room and check back in on the Saturday PM (1945 hrs onwards). They use the rooms as boxes during the game.
-
...on the plus side those rooms may afford you the opportunity to enter the stadium beyond midnight if you"ve brought a ball, or something... ::)

Especially as there is a game on on the Saturday...There are some lovely cheap rooms available (from £35 a night) down by J2.

Another superb launch and cant wait for Coventry.
Great work from APAT - Again.
Don"t think anyone doubted it though.

Coventry FC have vip boxs? lol, who for like? i always thought they struggled to fill their stadium anyway.

That weekend is Easter weekend, yes?
Also my birthday weekend. No fecking way I am missing this.
IN.
-
Excellent :)
Love it all, will be booking time off on Monday! Should be there for Coventry, going to target playing in Wales and Scotland, as I can"t play the August tournament at the moment.
-
Great stuff thanks to Des and Tighty and all at APAT as usual. Top bananas.
Look forward to Coventry... the Stockton Massive were there a few weeks back for the Boro game, hoping that they"ll let us back and haven"t checked the CCTV footage of our room barricading exploits after they foolishly left the door open to the storage room :P Fantastic venue though, great accommodation, great casino.
Seems like forever since the last APAT get together, can"t wait to see you all soon. Happy days x
-
Seems like forever since the last APAT get together, especially as I coudn"t be bothered coming to Manchester or Brighton............. can"t wait to see you all soon I might make the effort this time. Happy days x

It didn"t make the initial cut. There is one gap in the schedule late in the season and we"ll review whether to put something in there later in the year.

All looks good to me. Great work guys.

I was wondering about this too. Very much hoping that you can fit it in later in the season, as the guys at Edgworth Cricket Club have been hassling me for months asking when they can get to defend their title!
Format seemed just fine to me. ;D

The Home International Championship, European Amateur Team Championship and World Amateur Team Championship are all international team events. APAT will appoint team captains for England, Scotland, Wales etc, who will thn be responsible for selecting their squads and teams for those events.

Also loving an extra 5k chips to splash around with!

Is there any added value for rankings winners?
Ty for asking about reload bonuses
-
...
APAT will operate National Amateur Rankings and National Online Rankings in Season Six, with a maximum of eighteen ranking points available to the winners of Main Events and a maximum of nine ranking points available to the winners of WCOAP, ECOAP and Online side events. A seat at a professional level event will be awarded to the winners of both Ranking titles.
I"m trying to get the term player of the year to catch on as a title to win :D
So that would be APAT Live Player of the Year and APAT Online Player of the Year maybe?
-
Slightly curious as to if the live structure has changed from last year?....given the extra 5k in chips....
-

Is the only way to register via the William Hill client? I opened a 2nd WH account a few years back by mistake and they subsequently closed them both :(
So any other options?
-
-
will there be online sattellites on stars as well as will hill as part of their partnership or is that just for the online league

I note that a Edgeware Cricket and BCPC are also looking at this one with regret. Met some great people at the event and I think it brings fresh blood into APAT.
I note that some of the ""old guard"" dont like it but you have to keep moving to stand still

as a publican i was also looking forward to the pub event as were a number of my customers as i was hoping to have a team from both my pubs in london entered if it had been possible, i have not told any of them yet that is will not be on this season just in case as des said in earlier post if it was possible to fit it in later in the year they would see what could be done, but it is impossible to please everyone and in my opinion they have created and excellent season 6 programme
-
The format looks excellent. Thank you Des/Tighty and all at APAT for all your hard work.

Ireland, Scotland and the UK event are all individuals that will not fall on bank holidays
And the Welsh too, so not bad by any stretch (tongue was firmly in cheek on my last comment). I"m just gutted about having to miss the WCOAP as I know I won"t have a marriage left if I disappear for the entire Easter weekend.

Well you have time on your side to figure out a solution...or to start preparing the paperwork, lol ;)

I"ll speak to Simon about what they can deal, but similarly we need all of the entrants to understand the games also. :)
This has never been a pre-requesite for the hold-em comps!!

I can"t even login! The password I was using yesterday when I deposited into the account wasn"t working so I requested a reset, now I"m getting a message "Sorry there is no response from the game server"
Just found out this is because I am subject to a random ID verification they have suspended my account until I supply documentary evidence. Just hope they sort it before tomorrow.

Excellent stuff guys, I look forward to making at least three of the live events. Such a wealth of choice that I personally can"t complain and thats saying some thing with a demanding missus and four kids. The PL Omaha is very exciting, gonna bust the main event especially ;)
thank u Des And Tighty, hopefully I can FT again.

Hey everyone. Yes, I"m a Newbie. APAT series 6 appears to be "Excellent". Any chance of having any tourneys in the North East. Nottingham is probably the closest to me but its still a fair few miles away.
Too late for this series but maybe worth a look at in future.

Welcome along
APAT has held two events in Newcastle previously, and we would do so again happily (Aspers)
We try to make the schedule as geographically diverse as possible, albeit there are always a number of factors that play into that

Hey Stumpster welcome to APAT... if you want to play for APAT North East please see http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=10366.0 (http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=10366.0)
See you at an APAT event soon hopefully
-
i"m a bit behind however delighted to see the new season announced and very happy. nice work des, richard and co.
i see six events this year (and 2 next year) however a good spread.
from a personal point of view it looks like my two favourite events seem out of reach: DTD august bank holiday weekend- british speedway grand prix in cardiff; and was quite disappointed irish event didnt return to dublin.
i see that there is one team event scheduled. i hope its not a forum or pub one as i feel this doesnt cater for the regular APAT players. i would like the team event to be a regional live event as an extension of the online league. eg 8 man teams with at least 5 players chosen based on individual points gained for their respective teams. if some one cant make it the place goes to the 6th place or 7th etc. the other 3 can be chosen by the captain (eg if some captains arent very good at scoring points they can still put themselves in). how ever if it a pub or forum bsed event i would like to put my name forward for ant team that is short ::)
didnt realise that there would be different sponsors for each event as i would have deposited far less in my william hill account.
any way once again really looking forward to the coming season and will play as many as possible and thanks to des and richard and the APAT team.
SEE YOU ALL IN COVNETRY (won a seat in the sattelite last night ;D)
-
Good luck all in Coventry, not sure if I will have recovered enough from my knee replacement by April 7&8 so Richard and I have decided it better not to go to Coventry. We"ll be playing the online events so see you there :)

Not too sure if the plans have changed but it says on this site the English online PLO championship is on 31st march but in the william hill lobby it says that it is on 24th march at 8pm.

To be fair you will have trouble finding Cardiff - just saying you have form ;D

Are there 2 Les Croups in Cardiff and if so which is the Tourney in May held at?
Actually there aren"t....Les Croupiers MOVED from in town to their new premises some time ago. Google Maps is out of date.
They are in Leckwith Road. I have the travel tips ready to go but I don"t want to put them up until everything is set and the tourney thread is live.

Last year on a visit, there was a free mini bus from the town centre which I used...v friendly..even dropped me off at my hotel later on

What do the mixed game championships consist off?
-
Probably whatever the dealers can deal.
Normally HORSE. Don"t expect Triple Draw/Badugi to be on there.

Am I imagining things?
I had the dates of the Online Championships down as MARCH 31ST and the Omaha buy-in as £20.....have they been changed?

It was the 31st for a short while Bri, but very quickly got moved tothe 24th. All announcements and subsequent threads have been editted / posted as the 24th
I"ve got a wedding on the 24th. May have to "retire" through drunkeness if I have any chance of playing this ;D ;D ;D

Ditto, my nephew is getting married and there will be no "May" about it :)

Hi,
Apologies if I"ve missed it somewhere but I"ve not really found my way successfully around this forum yet.
Has registration opened for the team event at Luton in January yet?
Many thanks

Nope...expect something towards the end on November would be my best guestimate.

We"re all waiting but I"m not expecting any official word until the end of November.
Usual format would be for forums/groups to apply to be included but a set date.
Once the allowed teams are announced them they can submit teams of (from memory) 6 - 8 members depending on how many teams are let in.
Last year was 25 teams of 8 people so you can take that (FWIW) as a base.

Teams were of 8 players. Last year if I recall 2 teams did not turn up on the day which is a pain for others and considering its a selected event of teams/forums etc
Will APAT consider increasing team size back to original teams of 10 players if they feel the event will not be fully subscribed?

I have no doubts that this was a concern for Des last year.
Perhaps making teams pay up-front well before the date would stop this from happening?
