It is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the death of APAT member Russell Highton, on Sunday last.
Russell attended many APAT events with his son Paul, and will be remembered by many for his fair play, love of the game and great humour, fittingly demonstrated through his parting comment to Rowena Colclough at the last Irish Amateur Poker Championship.

Words cannot express how saddened I am to hear of Russell"s passing. Paul my thoughts go out to you and your family.
I was so very fortunate to spend time with you both in Walsall and sat beside him for most of our time in the tournament. It was a true pleasure to have met him and talk poker hands and strategy. A true gentleman and such great company.

Very sad news indeed,my thoughts are with his family.
As is the case with a lot of APAT members its difficult to put names to faces,But i had the privelage of speaking to Russell at the Luton event last year without knowing who he was.We had a chat about football/poker for a good 30mins prior to the event starting at the bar.A warm genuine man and will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

This is very sad news.
I was seated next to Russell at Luton and bumped into him and his son at other APAT events. Always friendly and smiling. A true gentleman.
