Title: Live Update - The Final - Match 15
Post by: Des on June 15, 2012, 14:13:57 PM
Sunday at 7pm will see the final round of the PokerStars.com National Online League. Scotland currently lead the League by 2 match points from the Welsh, with the North East now assured of third place prizes.
This is how the league table looks after fourteen matches:-
(http://www.apat.com/images/s6/league_14.jpg)
We"d like everyone to post your big hands, bad beats, team support, what if"s, etc in this thread - not your regular team threads and not on your Facebook pages.
Let"s make this thread a real barnstormer and when we hit the individual points, Ian will be live updating the league table so that you all know exactly where you stand and what you need to do.
We"ll also announce a new National Online League initiative before we reach Sunday night"s final table. :o
In addition, the Individual Championship will be decided also, where Scotland"s Tom Clark leads by a short head from Ricky Jones of Wales, with others in contention also. There are some great prizes at stake, and also places in the England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland teams for the European Amateur Team Championship.

Best of luck to Scotland and Wales teams - gonna be a tight one.
Would be useful if we could know the Nationalities of those in contention for a place in the ECOAP teams.... (standard assumption is that someone playing for Wales regional team is probably Welsh, but you just never know)

I for 1 am delighted that Tom Clark will be joining our Scotland team at DTD as he"s had a storming season and now can"t be caught by any other Scottish player. Would love to see him take this down in style, good luck to everyone playing on Sunday and may the best team ( and individual) win 8)

Good luck to both Scotland and Wales.. Epic battle last few weeks, made for some great table banter and dirty ( obv in APAT spirit ) rubdowns ;D. Have loved this being run on Stars congrats to Des for continuing to make the APAT experience grow from strength to strength.. Already looking forward to next season where hopefully EOE can run like Usain Bolt and be in with a chance.

I am looking forward to tonight. It should be an epic game with the two most consistent teams over the season battling it out for the first prize. I shall be in the mix tonight and will no doubt cause some havoc ;D
Good luck all

1 outer to stay alive ... vs Wales (Wiko1973)
99 into K9x looking good ... but money in on the turn vs KK ... river 9 ... WOW!

Back into the pack A5 in to A5x vs 55 ... just under average ... that could have been a lot worse!

Knocked out by a team mate.
Blinds 100/200
Mid Pos raise to 424 into my BB.
I shove my stack of around 3k into the middle with pocket tens
For anyone in the Welsh team that doesn"t realise, that mean "Please go away, I have a hand and I"m on your team"
But after a bit of a dwell, I get a caller with KQ suited. Flush draw on the flop for him, but a killer King on the river.
What are you supposed to do ?
At least the chips have stayed in the team, not that I have managed any points this season.
But, COME ON WALES, all the same. No hard feeling (Well, not much :D )

Many congratulation to Scotland for their outstanding performance on winning the PokerStars.com National Online League, and to every region and player who participated, for supporting the League over the past 15 weeks. I hope you"ve had as much of a blast playing in the League as we"ve had organising it for you.
Details of the next National Online League will be announced in the next two or three weeks, in the interim, we"re busy planning a National Online Cup knockout competition.
The event will run as a team event with each region able to enter as many 4 person teams as you wish. Players can name their team whatever they want, as long as it"s connected with their original region, so you might have the Scottish Bravehearts, Scottish Ladies, East Scotland, etc etc.
We"ll get a more detailed information thread up on the forum during next week, but in the interim players can pool their friends together to form teams of four, or start advertising on the forum for others to join them in teams of four ahead of the National Online Cup.
The format will run as per the League. If we have 60 teams start the league, then the leading 32 teams after the first round will go through to the second round. The leading 16 teams will go forward and then the leading 8 will go to the quarter finals etc.
So whatever chance you felt you had in the National Online League, any team from any region can win the National Online Cup. The event will be very competitive, so I"d like to see a lot of players step forward and organise teams for this unique tournament.
Look out for full details later in the week.
