Ok bit of background first..... carol cana is a very aggressive player, can"t remember exactly now but stats were roughly 3bet 24%, vpip 47%, PFR 36%. Personally not been in a hand with them yet but only seen him take one to showdown which they lost with K9 v AA on K high board. This is the 3rd time in about 14 hands they have jammed.

Not folding this vs just about anyone
-
facing a cold 4 bet vs very specific opponents may be a good spot to fold a 3 bet AK here, but given your read (maniac I believe title says), I"m calling this and am gutted if he is dominating me.
However, your background info is not really that helpful. 3 shoves in 14 hands tells us nothing as do those percentages, unless it is over a decent sample. Also no info on your perceived image?
Against un unknown I probably still call this off

Your OP gives all the reasons for why this is a simple call.
Guessing you called, he showed up with A9o, which hit.

Sample size just this table, roughly 100 hands, I have a tight image, won most of the chips I have with a 3 way all in with AA and won a few smaller pots with big hands and just floating around the 12-13k mark not really done much for a few orbits just picking up some blinds.
-
not a mistake to fold if the spidey senses feel summit is up, especially if this is the 1st time u"ve seen him 4bet...
only difference pre i"d probably prefer to just min re-raise, with the herbert in the bb the players behind i"d thought would be wary to call anything light, so for cheaper 2bb less u"d get them to reveal the strength of there range, especially so if they were to flat :) with the bb yet to act.......
-
Am folding here.
Main reason is that it is a cold 4-bet with a player all in. Despite the player being a maniac it shows a lot of strength as the hand has to go to a showdown.
With approx 40bb left there is still a lot of movement and probably better spots.
-
Sample size is 100 hands? Well that is worth taking into account, its not a great sample size but I respectfully disagree with Rob that it tells us nothing, it is all in this session as well so we have an idea of how he is playing.
That said 4-bets usually mean something even when an apparent maniac 4-bets and for that reason if you folded it is not the worst play in the world. Given these stats though and considering the fact he could be shoving light to try and get heads up with the shorty and have great odds to pick up lots of dead money we have to widen his range a little. I am going to say something like TT+ and AQ+, it might well be wider than this, but against that range we are pretty much 50/50.
Which is why I favour a call. It"s actually a pretty decent spot.

I snap it off.
Don"t think its a bad fold this deep but I think you have him crushed far more than he you and at this stage of a tourney your happy racing with the extra chips in pot aren"t you. He will jam plenty of course but reckon there"s a good chance him taking a raise to induce line with AA,KK in this spot.
-
Deffo call here given his image.
-
About the stats thing, there are so many factors within a tourney that could have influenced those stats.
Over 100 hands I reckon you could add or subtract 10-15 from each of those percentages to get the range of his true lifetime stats.
to be fair, I only have the HUD on if I am multitabling to a point where I can"t observe the table and make notes, so you can guess I"m not the most stats orientated player. Happy to be educated how we can make decisions based on a 100 hands without knowing how the villains chipstack has changed during the tourney.
I prefer sef"s read over any stats he quoted. Maniac = call and agree with steve that it is a great spot to play a big pot here

Yep would not argue with that either :-)

Hey guys, sry been having trouble getting on the site.
Ok so I timebanked this hand to think for a bit and pretty much everything said crossed my mind at 1 point, I hovered over the fold button a few times in the end I thought is he really sticking it all in with AA/KK? Surely just a small 4bet would be the best play with those hands? The possibility of a massive stack its possibly a flip so..........
