Many congratulations to Kevin Shutt who has been awarded a walkover by Mark Donnelly in the shootout to decide the Season One Rankings title.
It is unfortunate that Mark could not complete the final event for personal reasons, but Kevin is a very deserving winner; and while I"m sure he would have preferred to have completed the final fixture, in reality he was an innocent bystander as APAT and Mark tried to arrange this fixture over the last six weeks.
Kevin had an outstanding Season One and his ranking points scoring record was as follows:-
Canadian Open - Silver
English Amateur Championship - 16th
French Open - Bronze
UK Amateur Championship - 16th
WCOAP Omaha - 5th
WCOAP Razz - 6th
OnLive Championship - 6th
With seven scoring events across both live and online (to Mark"s three live), Kevin has had an incredible season and is a very worthy APAT player of the year.
He will go on to represent us all in the European Poker Tour event in San Remo in early April, where we wish him the very best of luck.

Seems a shame for it to be decided this way.
But well done to Kevin, a well deserved winner considering his performances all year.

Yes, but ultimately it was Mark"s decision so Kevin can be extremely proud of his achievement.

Brilliant Kev! Well done, I"m really, really pleased for you.

Many congratulations Kevin - truly an all rounder; live, online, hold"em, razz, omaha.
I"m sure both Mark and Kevin will again be "up there" fighting for the title come the end of season two.
Good luck in San Remo.

Well played Kevin. Good consistency shown throughout the season from start to finish.
Enjoy the EPT in Italy, and look forward to following you on the final table.

I play poker with Kev in our local poker league and class him as a good friend. All i can say about the guy is what a fantastic winner and great representative he is for amateur poker.
He is allways helpfull and treats the game and the other players with the respect they both deserve.
Well done Kev and good luck in Italy

I would like to offer a humble thankyou to all those who have already posted congratulating me on becoming APAT's season one player of the year. Also my best wishes go out to Mark, i hope that he overcomes his current challenges & i look forward to shaking his hand at a future APAT event.
It goes without saying that this result is my best achievement so far in my short poker life and would not be possible without the vision, perserverence and hard work of a few dedicated individuals. To all apater"s, especially Tony, Richard and Des a simple word-"THANKYOU".
Hopefully my result will inspire those who have yet to shine, maybe your time is yet to come, but whatever happens to you in this wonderful game always remember, never, ever, ever give up.
Kevin

Well done Kev.
Great post.

Congratulations Kevin, I"m sure you"ll make the most of the EPT and do APAT proud!
Gutted for Mark and I hope things get sorted out. A good egg and a cracking player, such a shame it ended like this for him as to be honest I was rooting for him all season after he lost HU for the second time in Cardiff.
But lets be honest, some things in life are more important than poker. So I hope it all gets sorted Mark.

WP Kevin, and GL in the EPT event.
Like others hope Mark"s difficulties soon resolve.
