Will there be late buy-ins for these, and if so how long for ?

7pm a touch early for me.

Late registration will be available for all tournaments for the first 60 minutes (assuming min 6 players registered, as per Boss Network Rules)

In before me there. One question. Does Boss allow more than 35 accounts per IP address?

Careful..... move it to an alternative date that someone then can"t make, you"ll end up with complaints from those who can"t make the revised date.  Been there, done that..... it"s frustrating to say the least.

EDIT: Just seen the PLO8 is on Tuesday, and I can"t make Tuesdays due to other commitments. Can we move that one too please?  :D :D :D

I appreciate the Main Event clashes with the ChezGer weekend, but I was aware of that when it was pencilled in a while back.  I"ve had to delay announcing until one or to things had been cleared up.

Going forward, the Online Series will run the week after a live event, we"re just playing a bit of catch up here with the launch of the online cardroom, hence the Irish and ECOAP back to back.

Apologies for the clash, almost inevitable it will clash with something in the busy UK Poker Calendar.

Can we enter a Chezger team as a single player if IP addresses is a problem? pass the laptop round 36 people.

Sorry 35.. forgot Stu was coming x

But it"s not someone Steve it"s a shed-load of people playing an event which has been diarised for months on a date specifically selected to avoid an APAT clash for a crowd that is effectively an APAT offshoot.

IP or general socialblity issues may lead to a loss of >30 players ?

Appreciate the acknowledgement Leigh. Can the ME not be moved to Sunday?

JP - understand the sentiment, however I once asked a similar question and was castigated for it.....  http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=8189.msg136201#msg136201

The thought of 36 laptops at Ger"s is an interesting one, and if that does happen, I think the webcam should be mandatory!

For some reason, when I saw the Euro Online announced, I assumed the Irish one was dropped and deleted it from my calendar, so I"m glad you posted that Leigh.

Aye, Irish Online is next weekend. Satellites for that run every day from tomorrow. See this thread for full details: http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=11874.0

It is unfortunate that the date clashes with chezger. I"m pretty sure 30+ of us won"t be able to play on the same IP address. However it would be wrong to change the date of the ME as it would now be unfair on those that can"t make revised dates.

Life is too short to worry about this and I am more grateful that APAT has helped spawn the Chezger game, which will be epic.

Can the ME not be moved to Sunday?

We"ve just had a chat about it, and this seems a sensible compromise, and also a chance to see how playing an APAT Main Event on what is usually a busy night for poker will impact on numbers.

I"m just going to update the OP.

Disappointed :(   If I can"t change my work schedule, I won"t now be able to play. Will be the first online APAT I"ve missed for a while.

Firstly, many congratulations Bri, and hope you both have a fantastic day, whatever you are doing.

I think with your addition, I have now broken my own personal record of BCPC players I can annoy with one decision.

And that certainly was never my intention.   :(

Just to confirm a few changes :-

The main event will now start at 6pm on the Sunday with 120 minutes late registration

The starting stack for the rebuy event has been adjusted to 1500, with a 3k addon.

The satellite for the rebuy event has been lowered to 50c + 0.05c

Steve,

With a 6pm start and 120 minutes late registration, we are expecting 6/7 hours play.  This might move by one or two levels depending on the number of runners.

Thanks Leigh. A 6pm start makes this far more reasonable for a Sunday night. Midnight to 1am is way better than 2 to 3am.

There is no doubt I got lucky a couple of times, but a very enjoyable tournament to take part in anyway. A great laugh on the final table. Thanks to Leigh for fixing the deck so they had something at the same time that I had something better and even more so, for the times when they had something better and I overtook them.

Well played, you got a bit unlucky there...............Don, Andy, Suz, Rich, Stu and everyone who knows me.

That was a top top game that was, played in a fantastic spirit as well,  even when dear John was running like god!!

Will be reinvesting some of the winnings into the omalol hi/tilt this evening I think!!

Well done again to John, don, Andy, curly and the rest of the final table.

Ps.

Despite suggestions from some scurrilous characters last night, I only took the initial rebuy and an add on, not the 20 as was guessed at one point :p

Ermmm Just out of Interest, is the Stud tourney tonite meant to be a hyperturbo chip and chair party?

If so I think I will give it a miss,
I just had a look into the lobby,

starting chips: 5000
Levels: 2

Level1 stakes: 5000/10000 ante 1000  minute: 1
Level2 stakes: 5000/10000 ante 10000 minute:1

well not that I mind chip and chair tourneys, as they can be really fun, but hmmm for the ECOAP only 1 min levels, and everyone all in first hand, I really do not like this a lot

Delighted that there is Stud. Really happy about it. Please do it again and every time.

But please put on a proper tournament with a proper structure next time.

I was really looking forward to it, and we get given that.

Likewise, this is actually the first Stud tourney I"ve ever run online. Looking at the structure I think 15 min levels would have been better than 10 for sure? Anything else?..

I"ve calmed down now. And I"ve changed my reply, due to Matt's comment. I had assumed that it had been set like that deliberately, cos it was so different to how a Stud tournament normally runs. If that was not the case, why change it so radically from the usual structure?

The biggest difference was that bring-in was 50% of completion. Normally it is 30%. This made a huge difference. Normally a player with a high card showing can take a pot down by completing as the bringer-in has to call 70, with 30 already in. When it is 50 to call, with 50 already in, they are priced in to call. I can"t say for certain that this was a unique innovation, but I have never seen it before.

On subsequent streets, the fixed-limit bets were huge compared to the stacks. From quite early on, getting seriously involved in a pot meant committing your life. There was no room to play through the streets. Raise-folding meant serious damage to your stack, cos the stacks were so shallow.

I see the players still in have more reasonable stacks at this stage, so they may think differently about the tournament but I found it a horrible tournament to play.

Looking like a much earlier finish than the other tourneys so far. Don"t normally play Stud so can"t say what"s the norm.

Had a big stack but got involved in just a couple of hands late on and as the blinds were so huge once you got involved it was extremely costly. Those with short stacks had little choice but to commit totally once they"d called one bet.

Only other Stud tourney i"ve played was in Newcastle and don"t recall the blinds being that big so early on but as I say I don"t know the norm.

Has been a bit crapshooty to be fair (hence my Final Table)

A look at stars WCOOP stud structure would be a decent place to start with improving the structure.

Enjoying the tourney (just keep getting there!!)

+1, but although it"s not the usual structure online, I have played live 7CS with half minimum bet as the bring in (but only in the early levels) due to chip denominations.

BOSS related I know but in addition, at the 50/100 level guy completes 50 (1 bet), i raise to 100 (2 bet), he reraises to 150 (3 bet) but I"m then only offered a call. I should be able to 4 bet (cap) at 200. Fundamental.

The hand history sucks. It sorts the cards on showdown and it"s tough to work out what villains hole cards were vs their river card, and so I couldn"t easily work out peoples starting requirements.

Title: Re: ECOAP Online Series
Post by: Matt D on September 19, 2012, 22:28:54 PM
I didn"t create a custom blind structure for this. Rather, I used a standard Boss structure - so this is actually how all their Stud tourneys run.

Will take a look at Stars structures though to see how they run similar tourneys.

Agree with Andy D regarding the hand history. Often wanted to see what people were playing like and if they were drawing light or already got a hand but impossible to tell once it sorts the cards. Guess that"s just another boss thing though.

I don"t seem to have any problems with the running/connection on the APAT site!

I know someone somewhere mentioned that they have problems but other sites, including PKR, were ok. I always found PKR ran really badly for me though! Another one that runs badly on my laptop/connection is SKY, this always manages to run at least half my think time down (sometimes even timed out) before I get a chance to act. I don"t play either of those sites any more!

The problem i had tonight with the APAT site was the constant losing..... Lol.

Two pair losing to a bigger two pair
Low straight losing to a higher straight
Every time I had a pocket pair someone had a bigger pocket pair
When I had a pocket pair someone had an inferior hand but hit the flop!

Dear Matt,

Please organise some run good for me.

Yours faithfully,

thinsy147

Already done.  Feel free to share it on Facebook though.  The more that get the message, the better.

If the numbers are odd, some players will get a bye in the first round.

I estimate each round will take around an hour.  Currently there"s four rounds scheduled. That will rise to six when we hit 32 runners, and seven if we hit 64 or more.

That"s the reason I"ve scheduled it on a Friday and not on a school night  ;)

evening all, minor gripe, checked this thread, tonights event starts at 7, damn it"s 10 past 7...read further and notice this..."Late registration will be available for all tournaments for the first 60 (120 for Main Event) minutes (assuming min players registered, as per Boss Network Rules)"...after downloading and depositing find out that this isn"t quite true as can"t register for tonight"s event...  :-(   (i know, it"s head"s up so it can"t work like that will probably be the response...should have mentioned that in the blurb then would be the response to the response...)

You carry forward the chips you accumulate from round to round, but I was assured that as the rounds progressed, the starting level progressed.

I can"t request any changes whilst the tournament is running, so will have to go with it.

Each round, the blind levels double from the original structure.

So, 1st round starts with 10/20, 2nd round starts with 20/40, 3rd round starts with 40/80 as so on.

Paddy was most likely multi-tabling so I"m sure he wasn"t stalling on purpose

Anyone want to wager with me that the last game playing in this round will be Andy Overton"s table ?

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I"ll take that bet Leigh!

Damn, am I too late? Was keen to get down the pub too, wish i"d been on here. I"d have got someone else to take the bet then just shipped it every hand.   :D

Fancy a side bet on the Omaha tomorrow?   :)

Cheers Todd, I"d have been happy with third as well, was a very enjoyable tournament. But delighted with the win, didnt fancy my chances too much after you got knocked out but got a few breaks and ran good HU. Well done to all who made the points, tough luck Jack, you did really well to get back from being very shortstacked midway through final table. Cheers guys and thnx to Apat for a really good tournament, but then I would say that wouldn"t I.

Just seen that the ME has been set up with 20 minute blinds instead of the 15 minute blinds we had last week. Was that deliberate??

Huge congrats Paul on winning the ECAP Main event vwp, thrilled for you. Congratulations to Graeme and Joe for silver and bronze.. Graeme for winning POTS hope you can spin that Genting seat up!!.. Splendid that you are donating all winnings to charity a very nice gesture sir.. Great railing last night after my exit the " banter" between Alan and Tom kept me amused after falling short of cash and much needed points..

Really enjoyed the games over the week, think APAT got most things pretty spot on as always.. a few tweaks here and there with structure it will be even better but these are minor points. As for all the grumbling about bad beats software etc etc, IMO I seriously can"t see any difference between BOSS and other sites regarding " variance" , I ran like poop for many tournaments on there, then ran like Usain.. No different to Pokerstars, Genting etc etc just think we feel inclined to mention more the times we run bad.. Ok agree with software issues about pop ups and some structure issues but every site has its faults.. So all in all I would like to say a HUGE thanks to all involved behind the scenes for giving us a chance to win some great added value.. Leigh and Matt for helping us when needed, Des for everything you guys make APAT what it is.

Looking forward to the new league starting soon can"t wait for a load of trash talking fellow APATers to bring their game to the table.!  ;D

Thanks Carl, Will do my best with the charity spin up!

Final Table last night was a great spectacle to watch, I had 600k of the 800k in play when 4 handed and if it wasnt for the KJ Vs KQ on the board of 10 Q Q, 9, 9 when we got it in preflop the game would have been so much different.

The banter between the final table was also great, funny and i"m sure mainly taken in jest ;)

Well played everyone, and thanks to APAT and the staff for everything they have done now, in the past and what they will do for us all in the future.

Really enjoyed it last night. Well played all FTers. Shame I only managed one other event - it looked like a great series of events.

Thanks APAT, once again, for a great event with a proper structure.

Before your exit weren"t you doing tennis scores?  ;D I remember a couple of 40/30 - deuce scores coming up.

Lol yes grant but that was another heated conversation between Rudders senior and someone else after the QJ v99 hand.. Classic banter I love it..
