Updated after PLO Hi/Lo

Still all to play for. More than happy with 3rd in my worst discipline tonight. Just need to send the boys round to nobble John and then get Tony Trippier to teach me how to get 3rd in the Stud and it"s all good. :)

There"s a real chance now that the winner of the ME could have had no previous points and still win player of the series, due to ME double points. Hopefully the PLO round will scupper that possibility.
-
Noticed that all along. Not sure why it"s double points. Doubt it"ll get double the entrants and figured the overall winner would come from all disciplines but not looking that way at the mo. Be a shame if the winner gets automatic player of the series. More to play for in the main I guess.
-
I hope that the Main Event winner could be Player Of The Series, but I then hope that one of the 30+ players to have already picked up points this week will do enough in the main event to be Player Of The Series.
A perfect scenario.
-
That would be perfect. Just wouldn"t want to see it go to someone just for winning the one tourney out of 7.

congratulations Graeme and glad to see the money going to a good cause.
An enjoyable weeks poker with 4 separate cashes just a shame i couldn"t cash in the main.
glad the winner was someone who played the majority of events and not someone who just played the main and won it would of made a mockery of the title "player of the series" lol.
maybe the double points for the main needs to be looked at for the next league, though i think it kept alot of people interested right to the end so effectively it had a desired effect.
maybe points for entering a tournament could be introduced or a minimum play criteria to be considered for POTS.
all in all very enjoyable, looking forward to the new league as well come on E of E lets be having you!

Thanks Paul, really useful feedback. I think this time the points worked out well, but as you say, that may not always be the case. We might need to tweak it a bit going forward.
Great effort all week. Just let us know when you want to use the APAT seat.

All you need to do is have the points the same plus everybody gets 2 points just for playing

Massive congrats on POTS Graeme. Very well deserved. ;)

Well done to all the prize winners.
I think that for future events points should be awarded for entering. Also I think the ME should carry extra points, but not double.
-
Thanks everyone
Here"s my own views on the scoring/POTS
The Main Event has to have more points than the others, the buy in is more than double that of the other events and it keeps players interested right til the end. How many of the 80 players would have played had it not have had the double points? Anyone sat outside the top 5 without a score already would know they cannot get any added value and then the game becomes kinda pointless, so having an increase in points for the ME is a must.
The way I would work out the POTS though would be a mixture of the two, take the points into consideration of course, but then hold a vote by the moderators/admin as to who they believe deserves it most. A number of factors could be used, how many events did they play, how many cashes, points score and even near misses.
I personally played 5 games, donked the stud, made final 16 in the HU (got unlucky when 92% fave on the turn to bust the other player out and then never recovered) and then cashed and made final 4 in two events so I am happy with my overall play, and cannot thank APAT enough for the work they do for us all.
Finally, I"ve said it before and will have to say it again, many thanks Matt for the support and the donation to the charity is gonna be very welcomed indeed, medals and prizes are great, but if the money we raise can save lives down the line, then thats my goal!

Congratulations Graeme. And huge respect for your charity donation. Let me know how and i"ll happily donate some of my series winnings too.
It"s been a cracking series and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was doing well and ran deep in pretty much everything I played but ruined my chances in the Stud when chipped up and gambled when I didn"t need to but then I don"t understand the game! Didn"t play the Omaha which was one of my strongest games and then went out of the main, all in twice with AK suited vs AQ and lost them both. But no complaints. A tidy profit overall and was fun to play something a bit different. Cheers to those organising. Especially Leigh for fixing the deck for me. Although the AK/AQ twice wasn"t funny! ;)
