Great start to the weekend.

The captain of the FISO team, Phil Colls, chopped last nights tourney three ways.

Sounds like Gordon McArthur and JP Round also cashed.

Nice work chaps.

First hand of note on Table 15

It"s a 22k pot that is heading the way of Steve Platt of LBPN.

His pocket tens up against the pocket jacks of Mio Kontic from the Midlands Poker Forum.

But the ten already on the flop was going to be good enough for Steve.

Mio now managing a shortstack.

And Mio Knotic (Midlands Poker Forum) is the first exit from the event

A great turnout today, personified by the Hetton contingent, who have come over the wall and across the snow laden mountains to reach Lutonia.

As might be expected of a team from the North East, they are all wearing summer hats....

2nd exit of the day, and we lose Phil Colls, captain of the FISO team.

He may have chopped the event last night, but it"s off to the bar to do some school marking for Phil.

APAT Forum team member Liam Crawfords story of the first 2 levels.

I sat down, folded J5 off, and the TD said " there will now be a 10 minute break".

Liam has made a 400 mile* bus trip from Barrow and the bus broke down on the last leg from Milton Keynes, Naz made a journey up the M1 to get him but the driver wouldn"t let him off.

Apparently his mates on FB already calling him "Bus W*****"

Seriously though; that trip for a £50 event shows what APAT is all about to me.

*Cue Paulie D to tell us the exact mileage, Leigh do do some statistical analysis of APAT journeys through the years and Get to say something with the word "feck" in it

Seriously trying not to laugh too much, and as for "Bus W*****", well that"s pretty close to the truth for this weekend. Let Liam know I"m thinking of him.

stream is terrible.

Cards displayed showing no relation to the action

e.g.1  John murray folding AA to a single raise
e.g.2 seat 4 and 10 cards are showing when two different players are in the hand and a flop turn and river have been dealt.

Rich Baker looking good though

I wondered why the heck he was folding AA pre there, based on the info being shown.  Thought the knock on his head had taken it"s toll.

Leigh - your spreadsheet skills are awesome.

Not sure which is more sad though - the fact you know how do do such a thing or the fact that I find it impressive.

not much of a mention for anything. The priority is keeping up with the exits and making sure the points are correct.

Quite what lol?

No updates from me yesterday as I had to deal for 6 levels due to a Luton staff shortage! :)

We"re sat right by the tables today, and with just 46 players left updates should be coming thick and fast.

What is everyone"s 1,2,3 prediction?

GNF"s Dann Williams gets it all in with  9h 9d vs the Jd Jc of BCPC"s Todd Wood.

Dann binks the flush, doubling up to 120k-ish.

Todd is down to 40k-ish.

A quick slew of exits, sees the following head to the rail:

Dave Griffiths, Midlands Poker Forum
Ant Williams, BCPC
Andy Cairns, iloveplayingpoker

Steve Bale of Blue Blood raises from mid-position to 6.6k. It folds round to Diana Mayo in the cutoff who shoves all in for 50k-ish. Steve insta-calls with AA.

The board is no help, and we lose Diana from The Hendon Mob.

This could have a bearing on the Gold medal. More to follow (unless it"s been posted before I press return here :) )

I arrive late at a table to see the dealer collecting the cards and awarding the pot of 110k to Andrew Walker of GNF. His opponent Omar Khan (Elite Poker) had shoved all in with J7 from the button, unfortunately into the AA of Andrew.

Andrew up to 230k and the new chip leader.
Title: Re: APAT UK Team Championship - Live Update

Andrew Hulme of Blonde shoves all in from utg with 60k, and is called a couple of positions after by Ian Witt of In The Muck, who has slightly more chips.

Andrew shows AQ. Ian shows JJ.

The flop brings AK7, and Ian sighs.

Turn: T

River: Q

And Andrew heads to the rail.

Ian is up to 140k.

With blinds 2000/4000 and the ante 500, we"re seeing a lot of all-in preflop action from the shorties.

Another one in the form of Newcastle Poker Forum"s Andy Blair shoves all in for 8k with K4. Ian Witt of In The Muck calls with AT which holds. Andy is out.

And we burst the bubble.

Ben Walton (GNF) raises to 100k from the button and Judi Edwards (APAT SW) calls for 45k all in from small blind. The big blind folds after a dwell.

Ben shows 9c 7c

Judi Ad 5d

The board brings 4h 5s 6s

3h

3s

And Judi leaves us in 21st place.

We are now in the money!

Judi"s departure means APAT SW are down to zero players, but are guaranteed a medal.

The colour will depend on how many more points The Hendon Mob can earn from their remaining two players still in.

With GNF guaranteed gold, there is no mercy between the players.

Andrew Walker (GNF) raises to 18k on the button (blinds 3k/6k). Ben Walton (also GNF) in the small blind insta-calls. Ian Witt from In The Muck completes.

The board comes down: 9c Qs 10c

Ben bets 30k. Ian folds. Andy calls.

Turn: 3c

Ben checks.

Andrew Walker bets 41k. Ben Walton shoves all in. Andrew mulls it over and folds Ac Jd (unseen, but I caught a glimpse), cursing his teammate in the proccess.

Ed Stanborough (Elite Poker) goes all in utg+1, and everyone folds. The next hand he"s all in again. This time Ian Witt from In The Muck makes the call.

Ian flips 99. 9-8 shows Kings!

The board comes down 8s 9s Ad 7d 4h

and Ian sends Ed to the rail.

A few hands later Andrew Walker (GNF) shoves aipf with 99. Ian Witt (ITM) re-shoves with AJ. Everyone else folds.

A Jack on the flop, and another on the turn seals Andrew"s fate.

And in a triple whammy of exits, whilst typing this Warren Fenwick (APAT Forum) approaches the table with news of his exit.

Warren Shoves with JJ utg for 88k. It folds round to Cecilia from Meetup on the big blind who makes the call with AQo.

Board is blank, blank, blank, blank and the Queen on river. "Can"t complain" says Warren as he recounts the tale.

Just watched Wazs exit on the live stream. It showed he was called by Q2 suited, really good that LS!

Well done to Martin (Towser) Towers for the LBPN team, in his first APAT outing finishing a very creditable 13th, and pushing the team into the top half of the league.

Ceclia from Bristol Meetup raises to 25k. Hendon Mobster Denison Ranson shoves for another 55k. Cecilia calls.

Cecilia flips AJ. Ranson shows A2.

The board brings no help for Ranson and he becomes the final table bubbler, leaving us in 11th place.

With Ranson"s exit the Gold, Silver, and Bronze team placings are fixed.

Details to follow.

So, the team medals have been dished out, and the remaining ten players are sat playiing at the final table for the individual prizes and any remaining team pride.

The live stream should still be up and running, but is on a 30 minute delay, so you should start seeing action from the final table shortly.

Chipcounts and seating to follow.

Dave Potts runs AK into KK in a large aipf hand. No Ace comes to the rescue, and Dave is left with just 3k.

They go in next hand with rags, which do not bink, and Dave is the first player to leave the final table.

Ian folds, Cecilia dwells and makes the call with 6h 6c.

Ben flips Ah Jd

Graham Gorton of BCPC raises to 41k from mid position. Ben Walton of GNF calls from the big blind.

Board: 2d 7s A s

Ben checks.

Graham bets another 41k. Ben calls.

Turn: 10d.

Ben checks. Graham shoves all in. Ben insta-call and flips Ac 10c. Graham shows K9o and is drawing dead.

The river is a meaningless 7h and Graham heads to the rail.

The very next hand Phil Hertel runs TT into the AA of BSWPMG"s Ceclia, and is also out.

Ben make the call with....

Brian shows A s Kh.

Ac 2c 6h 4c 10c

and Ben wins with the flush

Ben Walton raises to 50k from the button. Dave Stephensen makes the call.

The flop comes down

7h Jd 6c

Dave shoves all in for 130k. Ben ponders "well if I"m running this good, then maybe I should call?", and does just that.

He flips A6 but is up against K7.

Turn

2s

Ben says "Here it comes!!"...

and the river is....

7s

Dave doubles up.

Cecilia"s breaking Tom's heart with the following result:

Tom raises to 55k. Cecilia 3-bets to 125k
Tom shoves all in for 494k (total). Cecilia calls instantly.

Tom says "uh oh!" (he"s been caught)....

Tom flips Ah 6h. Cecilia shows pocket Kings.

The board is no help to Tom and he leaves us in 5th place with £350.

We are now down to the final 4 players, mid-way through level 21 (blinds 10k/20k/2k).

Checked round to Ben, he leads out for 125k. Dave folds. Ian jams for 350k+. Ben insta-calls and flips Kd 10d for the flopped straight.

Ian shows Qc Ts and is praying for a chop.

Alas, the turn and river run out 9c 2h, and he busts in 4th for £450.

We have now reached the medals!!!

Monster hand between Cecilia and Dave.

Blinds 15k/30k/3k

Dave completes from small blind. Cecilia in the big blind throws 60k more in. Dave raises to 160k. Cecilia shoves all in, and Dave semi-relunctantly makes the call for his entire stack of 540k.

Cecilia Ah 7s
Dave Ad Qd

A scary flop of 10d 9s 8c gives Dave the sweat, but he manages to fade the turn and river, and doubles up to 1.2m, and the new chip leader. The Geordie rail go nuts!!

Cecilia is down to 600-ish k.

And the biggest pot of the tournament award goes to the following hand:

Ben raises to 70k from small blind. Dave repops it, and ben ships all in. Dave calls and shows pocket Queens.

Ben shows Ac 2c.

The board is dealt:

4c Js 6d

The turn card is a scary looking 9c

But the meaningless 2d on the river gives the pot (and it"s a huge one at 2.4m!!)... Ben is left with 250k-ish. Cecilia has the rest (350k)

A massive congratulations to all who cashed and the teams who medalled, or who beat previous personal bests!

Gambling Network complete a historic double (they were also winners of last seasons Team Championships), on the same day that Ben Walton wins a historic Double Gold for one event!

A huge thanks to all the dealers, valets, and staff at GCasino Luton who once again have been amazing hosts for an APAT weekend!

More to follow tomorrow, but Leigh and I are absolutely bushed, so off to our beds! G"night all! Until next time! :)

Another brilliant APAT weekend!!

Well done to all the cashers and winning teams and a superb double to Ben and GNF!!!!  Staff at Luton as always doing a grand job (also providing Matt with his debut of APAT dealer he he), and shout out to Leigh (still loving the dynamite idea) and Matt for the updates coping with an intermittent net connection.

As usual the banter was flowing (as well as the beer) ... and again met up with old friends as well as making some new ones.

A lot of illness was flowing around and hope that Carl and Curly are feeling a lot better soooooon!!!!  Was an honour to be picked to represent APAT Forum team and felt sick to my stomach at my quickest ever APAT exit ... on a game that meant so much to me I took it quite hard and confess to beating myself up about it so much that it was a good idea to remove me from the premises before I affected other team members lol... fortunately Emma was there with huggles and Naz with his wit (albeit at my expense, sigh)  ::)

No stories of electrical mishaps (my kettle turning itself off whilst JP"s kettle decided to switch itself on in another hotel in the middle of the night does not count). Nellie on the other hand decided to be a potential Cat burglar with her partner in crime Debjani ... feigning "I"m old" does not let you off the hook when insisting to the hotel manager that you are NOT in the room you are being told you are in (having forgotten your room number ... errr how hard is it to forget 123) and having your room key re-programmed to some other poor blokes room!

Came away with another set of awesome memories ... and a beautiful Necklace and earring set (ty babes :-* ), although I managed to leave my Apple Bramble in Emma"s bag so will have to wait until the World"s before I get my next sip of Christmas  ;D

ROLL ON MARCH!!!!

Wow what a weekend.

Cheers to all the guys and Luton for holding this event.

Massive targets on our heads next year when we go for the hat trick!  Also for next year mine is a glass of wine thanks :)

As for now I am going to get a days work done and hibernate for two days.

On behalf of The Hendon Mob team, many congratulations to GNF, two years running is a tremendous achievement and very well deserved. Congrats also to SWAT on their silver medals, we nearly pipped you at the post, but were delighted with 3rd nonetheless. We have now come 2nd, 2nd & 3rd in four years, consistent if not quite winners! :D

Well done to all of the individual winners also  8) 8) 8)

We had a great weekend with a lot of laughs as we always do at this event, thanks to all the APAT organisers for putting on a great tourny once again.

Many thanks to Des, Leigh and Matt for yet another really well organised event.  Congratulations to the winners (even Ben "four flush" Walton...sigh).  The Edgworth lads really enjoyed themselves and will be back for more.

On behalf of APAT Yorkshire I would like to thank APAT for yet another successful weekend. Des, Leigh and Matt for what was again a well organized Tournament. We had a couple of first time APAT'ers and they said how much they enjoyed it and will be back for more.

Congratulations to all the winners

Special thanks to Matt for the ping-pong game, although I did lose a game to a girl (Clair)

quick thanks from Newcastle Poker Forum to all those at APAT especially Des Leigh & Matt for another awesome event. Sometimes people dont realise the amount of work involved in organising one of these yet these guys do it time and time again with precision and professionalism.

Updates and quick glance scoring was fantastic so hats off for that

G Casino Luton cardroom staff were in my opinion as good as DTD and some of the dealers I experienced at my tables were as good as it gets.

Crack around the cardroom was some of the best weve experienced in these and never heard one bad word or temper tantrum all weekend

As for the winners Gambling Network............ well what can I say, they absolutely crushed the tournament and won it from nearly 40 players out which in a 200 runner team tournamnet is pretty ridiculous and amazing combined with them successfully defending their title which is incredible so wpwpwp to them

Special mention to the individual winner Ben Walton who was a true gentleman and a very worthy winner despite him spoiling the beer belly catwalk if Dave Stephenson had won it

ONLY MOAN..........get a bigger venue please so we can send more teams down ;)

Well Well Well,

What another cracking weekend.

Big thanks to Leigh, Des (hope you feel better soon mate) and even Matt :).  The Dealers and staff, and everyone else involved.

Obviously it was great to win it again, even bigger bullseye on our backs next year, but the banter is always worth it :)

Thanks to all that represented the In the Muck Podcast, my baby, im glad you all had a cracking time, as i know for a lot it was their first ever APAT experience and well done to Ian Witt for his 4th place.

Thought Cecelia was a beast on day 2, and really impressed me (bright future for her in the game i believe) so well done.

Congrats to S.W.A.T (Suze works tirelessly with us in the SW) and Hendon Mob for their medal spots too.

Finally the NPF, what a great bunch!! Bellys, beer, banter! Love it!

So thanks again to all, rumour has it that APAT are just gonna put GNF in as the APAT England team at the worlds, as they are tired of the English not winning it!!!! :)

See you all soon!

Dann

It"s actually his third team win (he was part of the Bristol team that won the first team game, as was Rod). Pretty crazy really! :)

Big thanks to Matt, Leigh and Des

This was my first live event and so my first APAT event and I really enjoyed every minute ( apart from the terrible beat!! )
Met some great people and watched some great play.

Apologies to Clare Duffy on my rivered set to knock her out  ;D

And credit to Dann Williams he was on my first table and people were getting set after set against him I didn"t see him lasting too long but he hung around well.

52nd not too bad really plus I won the last longer with the Yorkshire Team which was nice.  :D

Hope to play against some of you again soon, I"m missing the wcoap as I"m in Cyprus that weekend.

Cheers

Adi

Apologies to Clare Duffy on my rivered set to knock her out  ;D

And credit to Dann Williams he was on my first table and people were getting set after set against him I didn"t see him lasting too long but he hung around well.

52nd not too bad really plus I won the last longer with the Yorkshire Team which was nice.  :D

Hope to play against some of you again soon, I"m missing the wcoap as I"m in Cyprus that weekend.

Cheers

Adi

Cheers Bud!

Yea, was a tough day at the office for sure, but i think my JJ hero fold kicked me back into shape!  It was a weekend of running well (TT > JJ and 99 < JJ aipf) and running not so well (KK < QQ and JJ < Q2) so cant complain either way :)

Nice to play with you sir, think we avoided each other for the most part - which is good as you would probably flopped a set :)

All the best and catch you at a few more APATs for sure

On behalf of London Poker Meetup I have to echo what everyone else has said, great tourney and venue, the understaffed dealers and valets did a terrific job under the circumstances and many thanks to Des, Leigh and Matt for ensuring such a smoothly run tournament.

Congrats to the team and individual medalists and to everyone who cashed and scored points for their team. I thought the scoring system was much better than previous years, giving so many more people the chance to score points, and also ensuring the teams that scored well throughout did the best rather than those who just had a couple of big finishers.

Finally, having played in every one of these, I have to say that the standard is just getting better and better and better.

He"s the medal machine, bit worried though, this wakeboarding seems to add a few pounds on, doesn"t it  ;)

GNF Groupie insisted on having her photo taken with the winning team.  Like that was going to work out well for her.

Quite funny all that confusion (my memory can be awful sometimes!) - I think I almost persuaded you at one point though :)

Yours will be with you ASAP I promise!!

My first live APAT event and had a brilliant time. Thanks to all involved for putting on a great weekend.

Had some good banter and the only sour note was being called an idiot by the dealer on table 20 ;D.

Look forward to the next event.

Dann

Cheers Dann, and what a great weekend.  This was my first APAT tourney and I thought it was brilliant.  Great people, great atmosphere and really well organised.  I shall definitely be coming along to some more :)  Beast alert ..... :)

It"s been a while since I"ve been to an APAT event, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one (I spose getting a half decent result helps with that though!).

Saw lots of old faces and plenty of new ones too and it was great to play another great structured event for a modest buyin. Looking forward to whatever my next APAT will be now.

From myself and Team Blue Blood Poker we"d like to congratulate the winning teams and individuals. We all really enjoyed the event and the feedback from my fellow team members was that they found it refreshing to play poker in such a friendly atmosphere, several are already asking me when the next National Live Events are and they are planning on joining the national online league.

Many thanks to APAT for organising another awesome event & hope to see you all soon.  8)

M.C. ha, I finally remember who took your medal now!!! :D

Quite funny all that confusion (my memory can be awful sometimes!) - I think I almost persuaded you at one point though :)

Yours will be with you ASAP I promise!!

I spent the next 20 minutes checking and double checking my pockets and as my team mates know they are pretty deep. When you said you gave it to someone who looked exactly like me I went straight to JB. I"m intrigued to know who it was now....please don"t be Brian Frew  ;)
