The next event of the APAT Online Series; the Bulgarian Open, will take place on Saturday April 12th at 8pm.
The event can be found through the Tournaments / Specials / APAT tab on the Blue Square client, for an entry fee of $10 + $1.
Players will start with a 5,000 chip deepstack, with the top nine scoring APAT ranking points and the top three securing APAT gold, silver and bronze medals.
The Blue Square poker client can be downloaded from the home page of www.apat.com.
Good luck to all participating players!

further to all the debate about the "right" size for the starting stack for these tourneys, I have to say that I think 5000 is much better than 4000......
..... especially seeing as I won"t get home til gione 8.30 tonight!!!
Feel free to nick my blinds - just leave me a few chips to play with please :)
-
Agree 5000chips much better tourney than 4000.
All I"m hoping for is not to get set over set tonight!
See ya all at the tables
;D

Only 10 out before the first break and no banter on here? Wakey wakey folks.
-
just got home at 21:10 - wife and 9 year old son have done me proud - came home to 5900 chips!! way to go!!!

Any chance they could use my account next time?

I wish I"d left them to it!! Made second break, but not much further.

Very well done Alan and the other finalists.
Bad beat of the day had to go to John Williams, who was denied access to play through Blue Square because he was on holiday....in Bulgaria, doh!
Qudos to John for loyalty though :)
-
Nice result Alan.It was good to see the apat players put that idiot ,who was givivg out the verbals on our earlier table in his place.

I was unfortunate enough to be on 2 separate tables with that numpty and you"re right, he was firmly put in his place by those around him. In some ways I"d love to see him back next time because there"s a certain amount of pleasure seeing someone that lippy playing so badly and failing to cash

What was their name?

What was their name?
I"ve got it written down is case it happens again.I"ll give him the benefit of the doubt this time.

I think I can remember his name as well What does everyone else think about naming and shaming? After all, at one point he did call everyone else at his table "poker playing c***s"

Personally, I would expect Blue Square to take action against this player, and if not I"d have to ask why ? Would such language and disrespect be tolerated in a casino ?
-
Please pm me the player"s name.

Ian these are my thoughts.... I would like to see online cardrooms punish offenders with more severe punishments for using abusive langauge....
You are quite right in what you say, it would not be tolerated in a casino, so why should we put up with it online?

Agreed Jimmy.
I also have another, related, beef with online poker - offensive user names.
I know that PokerPlayer magazine ran a "name and shame" series last year, and good for them. But I also notice that the online cardrooms have chosen not to do a damn thing about it - just one of the reasons why I have very little respect for online poker.
Would our own sponsors, BlueSquare, be prepared to do something about the offensively named players on their own database, or, like all the other online cardrooms, is the money far more important to them ?
-
What do you class as offensive name ?..
What is offensive to one person is not to another and i"d be interested to see, where u draw the line.
-
Pm"d you Scouse, as the example I"ve quoted I"d rather not post on here.
I agree that what one person may find offensive, another may not. But, there are some obvious usernames out there that could only be in use by some burberry/shellsuit/hoodie clad chav or ned, that are so obviously offensive that it astounds me how an online poker room could let it through the sign up process.
-
Thanks for the PM..
The problem for me is as I said, the online community (actual poker players) should be 18 years of age, and in this day and age, not many things go past a 12 yrs old, never mind a 18 yr old.

if he was giving out to all of the table it wouldn"t of bothered me, you can always group together to shame him, if possible. if he was directly giving out to me, i am more than capable of returning the abuse. Although provoked wouldn"t that make me the same as him ???

...... and in so doing you are taking your eye off the game! I often think that these mouthy idiots are actually much cleverer than we give them credit for. If you feel you need to react, just close the chat box.

Indeed it would.
It might also result in an APAT ban for yourself.

Good advice.

BAN SLIDER IMO... ;D ;D

lol scouse, turning the chat off seems best as giving back to him would take me away from the game :)
