Is the intention to have Late Reg available for this?

(I say "intention", because who knows what will actually happen)

Late registration will be available for all tournaments for the first 6 levels. Leigh and I have checked the WillHill lobby, and all seems to be correct in this regard.

Stuart Oliver is looking for the Season schedule not just details of an individual event, as he thinks its in the best interests of APAT to get the full extent of Season 7 published rather than a drip feed of information.

Thanx a bunch guys!

OK, so after 3 years I thought I would try it again today and my account, for no apparent reason has started to work. I hate William Hill but anyway. I now can"t find tonight"s Satty is it there or has it gone away to be fixed.

Main events are there but no sats

I can see the sats here. They are listed as "ENG Amateur Championship Sat". £3 + £0.30. Every night, from Weds, @ 8pm.

If you go to Tournaments > All, you can select "more" at the bottom right of the "Filters" row (below the list of tourneys). If you type "Amateur" into the text box there, then it will filter to just show the APAT tourneys.

Hmm this is a strange one.

I have done this and I can see tomorrows Sat, the main event and the side event but no other sats.

Not that bothered about it but would not mind playing tonight"s. Even when I go into the lobby of the main event it only shows me one Sat for tomorrow night.

I have reset filters and everything, seems weird.

Hi (B)rodders, you can buy-in whenever you like.

Remember, as with all Will Hill touneys, you will not be able to play the Satellites whilst you are registered for the target (Main) event.

So, if you want to play satellites, leave registering for the Main Event until after.

A bit disgruntled that this is on a Saturday Night. Surely a Sunday would be better and probably get more runners as I"d guess quite a few would be online grinding/satting for the majors. To alot of folk it"s a social or family night.

Can someone explain what the criteria was for choosing a Saturday instead of Sunday please?

cheers Shaz

It"s always been on a Saturday night.

For those that can"t make Saturday, there would probably be as many that can"t play Sunday due to work on Monday morning (myself included)

Can"t play Saturday but will look forward to the rest of the series (pending response to point 3 below). some observations in the meantime:

1. The buy in seems low. Previously this has been $50 and 30 Euros IIRC. Why so low and will it stay so low for the season?

2. The great Sat v Sun debate once more. Will we ever resolve this? I am very much in the Sunday camp and I believe, whilst Steve* correctly points out that Saturdays have been the norm, they haven"t always been as some MEs to close online series were on Sundays last year and we have a great track record of getting good numbers for Sunday league events. I would like Sundays to be considered for the MEs and think you would get more runners

3. Is the intention to stay with WH for the season. I will be VERY disappointed it that is the outcome. APAT members have been clear and consistent on this.

4. I sympathise with Brian on this one (although I don"t necessarily agree with the way he"s expressing himself). BCPC make up a big chunk of APAT and that event has been well publicised. Events are always going to clash sometimes (is that an oxymoron?), but was there an alternative here at such short notice? NB - to change the date would not be unprecented.

*but actually Steve, you haven"t won anything** since 2009 and Shaz won a medal this week so surely her opinion is more valid  ;)

**apart from that new cash thing at DTD

**and that team World Championship thingy

I agree with two previous posts

I would very much prefer would they be on boss, in the apat own pokerroom

it always confuses me that, apat has an own pokerroom and than plays things like this somewhere else, seems bit hmmm to me  ??? ??? ??? ???

I will open a will hill account, even though i really, really do not like the network  :(

I quite like the buyin being low. It"s not like I am going to sit down and single table online and I can play this and some of the regular stars tournaments and a sky tournament at the same time so happy enough to keep the buyin smaller, at $50 I always felt I should try and focus on that table as if it was a live event which didn"t really work out well for me.

The Sat Vs Sun one is interesting. I quite like Saturday, you don"t have to worry about work in the morning and can order a take away to eat whilst playing without having to worry about going straight to bed at the end of the poker. On the other hand I am likely to miss some of these due to watching the football (well still being in the pub after the football) or on a general day out somewhere or on a weekend in London, so I would actually play more if they were on a Sunday, if I was casting a vote though it would be for Saturday.

As for poker rooms WH should not be used unless it is really benefiting APAT to do so imo. I am sure Des is the best man to make this call though and he will do what is best for APAT (In Des We Trust).

If possible this event could have been arranged not to clash with the BCPC event. BCPC are great supporters of APAT but I understand there are always going to be clashes, it is just a bit of a shame.

Will be playing this Saturday though.

it always confuses me that, apat has an own pokerroom and than plays things like this somewhere else, seems bit hmmm to me  ??? ??? ??? ???

Probably better that the answer to this one comes from one of the team but I am pretty sure it will come down to the sponsorship and costs of running the live event (the online event would come as part of the package I would assume as it would make sense). I think that if more of the regs played on the APAT poker room with their general schedules then APAT could hold more events on there (I am as bad as anybody for this btw).

Ahh the great debate SAT or SUN
you all forgot about shift workers ( me  ;) 0
depending on work both can be a pain !!
Really like the idea of a lower buy-in for the online comp

Agree could of found a better weekend to play as BCPC comp on !!

Good luck all playing

APAT PLEASE get off William Hill !!! HATE IT  :-\

Have taken all comments on board and appreciate the support from some of you guys.
Also, I appreciate the comment elsewhere from a member of APAT's Hierarchy that they made sure the live event didn"t clash with with our BCPC event.
For those of you not in the know, we actually move events regularly to accommodate APAT events and avoid clashes, Cardiff being a case in point.
It just rankled initially as everyone knows the support the BCPC give to the APAT cause (and always have done).

The online champs has always been the Saturday after the live event so it cant have been a surprise?

Annoying I am sure as I know you planned the deepstack before Apat announced its schedule. Is there any chance of it being moved to Sunday? It just wouldnt be the same without the BCPC donating chips ;)

Not always. It was moved to a Sunday on one occasion last year due to a similar clash.

Agree with most things here.

The BCPC members have been a huge part of APAT of the past few years and every effort should be made to try and move the online event this weekend, even if it were to Monday. Fully understand Brian"s frustration, although it could and prolly should have been worded slightly differently.

To be without the Yarmites and associated guests, BCPC members and those on holiday abroad devalues the event considerably, so appeasing as many as possible should be the priority here IMHO.

I would always prefer Saturdays for a tournament that runs on the (very good) iPoker structure, and starts with 500bbs. If I recall correctly, this doesn"t usually finish much before 3.30am, which would generally exclude me from playing it if on a Sunday night.

I can understand Brian"s points though, although as others have said, the post further up this thread wasn"t particularly well worded, and probably raised negative objection by it"s wording rather than it"s content.

In essence though, Brian raises a very valid point. Whilst BCPC may not be a significant poker tour in terms of the UK poker circuit and calendar, it is reasonably significant in terms of it"s links to APAT, not least the fact that there will be 20-30 players in the BCPC deepstack event on Saturday 6th July that might otherwise be playing the APAT online tourney.

Brian quotes a very valid precedent from last year when a main event was moved from a Saturday to a Sunday to avoid a clash with a Chezger event - another clash that would have taken ~30 players out of the APAT event.   I would suggest that as grace was given in that circumstance, the precedent should be recognised and equal grace should be considered for this weekend"s events.

I haven"t spoken to Matt or Leigh about this, but my view is that we should push back to the following Saturday, which seems a win win on both sides.  It won"t please everyone, but we realise that"s not always possible.  I"ll mention it to the guys and see if we"re tied into the date with WH at all.

This has been discussed and unfortunately (or fortunately for some of you) we"re going to have to stick with the published date.  The key reason being it has been published and promoted and the events are sitting in the WH lobby.  So apologies to our BCPC members on this occasion.  Matt is looking to clarify one point before publishing the list but it is our intention that the online championship events will take place on the Saturday following each live championship event.

Irony is he asked me to complete the 5 point scale feedback question after the chat - which I assume had ended when he stopped responding to statements ending in a question mark. After pretty much solving my own issue he"s lucky there"s not a free text box.

Good luck.

I"m intending on playing, but I"m reaching the end of my tether with the absolute morons on support and iPoker"s ridiculous payment practices.

I know the issue is I have more than one iPoker account (Will Hill, DTD etc) and I probably have the debit card I wish to use registered with one of the others. But the most annoying thing is that I"ve now had 5 different answers from 5 different people every time I have to go through this **** - I suspect because they know full well what the issue is and can"t be arsed to do any work and sort it out with their Payments team.

No I don"t want to use another method of payment, no the problem isn"t with my bank. Do they actually want me to deposit money onto their skin? FFS!!!

/rant hopefully over

I remember having this problem. As I recall, the easiest (only?) way round it was to deposit on the WH main site and then transfer it across to poker.

Unfortunatley there is currently no mobile or Mac software for iPoker rooms.

...I"d give that another couple of weeks....

would like more details on this when possible please.

I would"ve been in, but the normal iPoker deposit issues coupled with the usual dribbler on live support.

Irony is he asked me to complete the 5 point scale feedback question after the chat - which I assume had ended when he stopped responding to statements ending in a question mark. After pretty much solving my own issue he"s lucky there"s not a free text box.

I feel for you. Been there with the shared Genting & DTD banking scenario. I also had the problem with Encore as they shared too. I have a lovely collection of emails from so many support staff telling me it was me, my card, my bank & I gave up. Then Encore went under Coral. Booom All ok straightaway. It makes me wonder.....

Also WHill I deposited 3 times within 15 mins (have to do small deposits or my bank go into overdrive) & I did them all the same way but 1 got lost into the main WH gambling area. That may be a way for you & then transfer across.

As for the poker, I forgot a basic fundamental

I too have had no problems with any of the Ipoker skins I"ve used recently and I also displayed signs of advanced muppetry last night. If I had to make a guess of what percentage of hands would be won by raising preflop, firing at the flop and turn, then check/calling the river with third pair, I"d say about zero %

Also , i just wanted to say that the best way to find the tournaments on willhill is go to Tournaments , then clik on Private , this will show all apat"s tourneys without having to search all of the network for them , also to deposit is the easiest thing , just go to williamhill.com , make an account , deposit on to the main site and transfer to poker using the transfer button shown on the top left or right . Unless you have a 15"" or 17"" screen on laptop just clik on cashier and badaboom simple .. william hills app only has the sports bet on it for now , no poker is played on will hill , the only poker rooms with apps are poker stars, 888 and pkr . as far as i know ..
