Just chatting to another player on FB, apparently the Cardroom changed the blind levels and overruled APAT.
Not good for Aspers at all.

1st round of Holdem in horse and blinds 400/800 FFS
If I knew that wouldn"t of played , it"s just a shove rest soon !!!!
Very poor show
Not a happy bunny !!!

Well the floor are telling me it"s APAT but that"s by the by. There is just sadly no skill in this event and the whole table I am on, including the floor manager and dealer think it"s well too quick.
Guess I better run superhuman, time to touch warrens head I guess

Hugely disappointing.... Was all set to bed in for the night and play some well structured horse but 1 cooler and my stacks decimated and forced to gamble with the last of my stack. Wasn"t expecting to have to do that within 2 hours of a limit tournament.
-
When we played HORSE at DTD over the past few years, we always complained about the structure being too fast and too shallow..... but it always went on til gone 2am. Will be interested to see when this ends tonight.

That did not happen.

I increased the cap on this event to accommodate 63 players - simply because the demand was there and I didn"t want to disappoint players - in doing so, I believed I needed to therefore tweak the structure (having had Stud go on to 4am with 32 players 0n the same 10k 30 mins clock) so this event did not go onto 6am or 7am - I was therefore happy to reduce the clock from 30 mins to 20 mins for the first 9 levels to move the game along and for it to then return to 30 min clock from level 10 onwards. When I read the comments on here I immediately discussed with Aspers and we agreed to immediately return the clock to 30 mins (because of your negative comments).
Seems I may have tweaked it wrongly - maybe should have reduced the stack from 10k to 6k (could you imagine the negative comments then) instead of the clock from 30 mins to 20 mins - but I do believe I needed to tweak it somehow so you are not playing to 6am - I suppose only time will tell, and if I got it wrong - then apologies to you all.

Like Steve said, it does seem to play deeper later on in the tourny.
Gutted not to be playing

Interestingly, only 5 minutes ago the blinds increased to 400/800.

TY for clarification. I believe the person I was chatting to had been misinformed based on your post above.
Knowing that lot that are there though - they"d be quite happy playing until 6am!

Gonna guess and say Gary meant the big bet was 800 - the blinds would be 200/400 in this case :)

Is there a reason that when the venue is booked like it is that a final table couldn"t be stopped at say 2am and finished the following day?
-
35/63 remaining - i will bring this up to date as soon as the Antes Only event has completed

I personally certainly believe that cannot be done - we get enough "flak" for changing structures after they have been advertised - can you imagine telling someone who has planned to go home tonight, and not return tomorrow, that they now have to (not to mention dealers are planned around the events well in advance etc)
-
I give tom his due, he listened to us having a shingle and tried to do something once he realised that it was a bit of a tizz. Good on you sir, I tip my hat to you (well if I had one)

I dont claim to be any great powerhouse of knowledge of 7CS poker, but whilst watching the action i was left bemused when the following occurred....
Clash between Timmy Man and Daniel Grant....
Timmy had 8T8 showing and Daniel AK7...
bet and a call on 5th street
sixth street was checked
seventh street brought a 10k bet from Timmy leaving 7k behind him....Daniel calls.
Timmy shows two pair tens and 8s
Daniel shows Kings full of Aces
Should Daniel have not have made that one more bet to put Timmy all in with that strong a hand?
-

-

Maxcel"s trips turn into a house, with 22 on the board, to claim the Championship title.
Some seriously great solid poker from these two guys - many congrats to a real gentleman, Timmy, on his runner-up and Silver Medal spot, and huge congratulations to a man not short of poker success in his life, Maxcel, our WCOAP 2014 HORSE Champion.
Goodnight London.
Maxcel with his Championship Bracelet and Gold Medal:
Timmy delighted with his Silver Medal:

To those that were moaning about this being a bad turbo structure...... 6.15am finish!!
Good job Tom.

I had the pleasure of sitting next to Maxcel early stages in the Horse (nice chap) he told me he earns his living from playing poker, not sure how this fits into the "Amateur" Poker Association.

Played with him in late stages, he is a poker dealer as far as I am aware.
On the structure: Thought it was fast at start but APAT stuck between a rock and a hard place with a 7pm start and lots more runners. Maybe a rethink on it being in the middle of the schedule and instead be a Saturday 2pm one on day 1a of main event next year.?
