I can advise that the Main Event will play 15 levels (at 40 mins) on Day 1a and 1b, meaning 10 hours play, and allowing for breaks the expected finish time is 23:20.

How many seats are left for people who just turn up without pre-registering?
I forgot and missed the deadline to register, so I"m planning on arriving around 11AM tomorrow and hoping to get a seat, you think that"ll be fine?

Play underway with a full cap of 200 players here for Day 1a of the 2014 APAT World Championship - and an extremely healthy alternate list of around 50 players, who have 3 hours to get into the event.

We have already lost a player - Adam Fuller....he lost 20k on a gutshot straight flush draw which could "fuller up" against a set of 8 s

181 entrants are now seated and playing - a fair few Eventbrite registered players as yet have not turned up - they still can enter the event they have reserved, but all alternates are now seated - 1 hour of the 3 hour late reg period

David Rudling-Smith is looking fairly active in these early stages. On a table also featuring Andrew Duncan, and Chris Webber, in the 5 minutes I"m observing the table, David is in every hand.

On a board of Kh Qh 5d David bets out 350, and is callled by his opponent sitting opposite.

Turn 4h. David check calls 1500.

River 10s. David checks once more. His pizza eating opponent calmly leads out for 2600. David dwells for a while and makes the call.

Alas, whatever he has is not good enough vs the nuts of Ah 7h. An early dent for Rudling-Smith the youger.

Some pretty looking chip stacks are being formed as the tournament progresses deeper....none more so than on Table 13, as Alan Moore has a tower that is currently battling gravity to stay intact!

J-P Round, 2nd in the Razz Championship last night, which finished around 6am, has just exited the Main Event.....his conqueror in the Razz however, Rieubert Freer, is going strong in the PLO8 - so fatgiue cannot be used as an excuse!!!

breaks are every 3 levels - so 2 hours play.

Largest stack at second break undoubtedly goes to Table 10 Seat 2 - take a bow Stuart Greenan. A tower that put the Babylonian one to shame in 6 levels. And quality as well as quantity there....just under 100k.

 15k in big chips out of 20k starting stack not great, especially with running antes. We"re making change every single hand. Perhaps this could be looked at for tomorrow"s flight.

Tristan Chaplin hit this straight flush on the flop, but look at the rest of the board, where Zak Ly held the nine of spades in his hand, but made the fold to stay alive, Chaplin winning a 30k pot.

Elsewhere, Dawn Cooke is out, having been "two-outed" (?) earlier on, she lost all-in with 9-T against A-A.

Scott Berridge up to a 95k stack, and must be amongst the chip leaders.

Almost 10k of that is from Chris Webber via the following hand. On a board of 2h Qc 4h, Chris leads out for 2.4k. Scott makes the call.

John Patten, who final tabled 2 tournaments earlier this week, is not going to make one in the Main Event, as he is now out...

blinds 500/1000, John shoves 11k in the cutoff with Qh Jh. Folds to the big blind who asks "Have you got a pair?". John replies "Do I need a pair?"... The big blind makes the call and shows a pair of Fives.

Despite picking up a flush draw on the turn, John missed his 14 outs, and is despatched to the rail.

We are now down to 91 players.

Claire MacGregor up to 160k and amongst the chip leaders. On a 7 high raggy, straightening board, Claire makes an all-in call from Albert with Jacks.

Albert flips 78, and is furious with himself that he only has top pair weak kicker (he misread his hand believing he had a straight).

Hi all, just got back from the ME. Bit disappointed to bust out around 85th as I lost a big pot early on and was on the back foot for the rest of the day. Finally got a playable stack going and got slow rolled  :(

God runs like Scott Berridge, he even beat me in a coinflip for a hoodie  :P I won"t be surprised if we see him leading the way Day 2. GL Sir.

Nice to finally meet you Matt D,  I will have to buy you that beer another time!

All in all a great day though, APAT great tour, great poker, and great people, I am so determined to make an APAT FT one day!

Some names have been recorded incorrectly on the chipcount sheets. i.e. David instead of Dan, Graham instead of Ken. Will cross reference to official player list when I get in later this morning and make corrections if needed.
