Fantastic to have all the dates set out in advance, great effort to organise this.
Not sure I"m keen on the split Sat/Sun for the online events. Wouldn"t having them both on the same day be in a recreational players interest ?
Also, and purely from a selfish point of view (I can"t play poker of Thursdays, although some would say that I can"t play poker any day of the week), but wouldn"t satellites on the same night as Online Championships and/or Online Leagues/Cups mean a likely increase in traffic for the satellites ?
It"s great that the tokens can be saved up and used for any event (or bigger buyin), that"s a huge step forward.

Two Questions...
1. What will the side events be....?
2. What is the format of the National Cup...?
Looking forward to playing in these, shifts permitting... ;D

Great to have all the dates in advance. Can i ask what the thinking was for splitting them across Saturday and Sundays? It will certainly limit my participation and i would assume would the same for others.
-
We"re looking at the scheduling of Saturday and Sunday events so don"t write the above in your diaries just yet!

Personally I"d rather see online Championship games played on a Sunday instead of the norm Saturday night..

What"s the reasoning behind the £50 buy in for the WCOAP online event?
-
What"s the reasoning behind the £50 buy in for the WCOAP online event?
It"s the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, Tom!! :)
Such ashame I can"t play on Coral... grrr, stupid Belgian laws :p

I know, I just think after a 10 day festival, a £50 online tourney soon after may not appeal.

Can"t do a 3am finish on a Sunday as Monday morning work takes precedent.

Admire the confidence ;D ;D ;D

for the same reason. Only way I could play Sunday nights is if it was the same structure as the NOL, which it shouldnt be cos its a ME.
-
Or play them both on a Friday?

Even better.

Matt and Des are currently looking at the Online Schedule and if appropriate will make changes in the coming few days.
-
Yeah same night please and would prefer to swerve Sundays for work reasons
-
I have to be up 6am on Mondays too, but Fridays and Saturdays are often taken with something else. The fact that I have work the next day is precisely why I prefer Sundays - I"m always in on Sundays. Perhaps it"s me being a pessimist, but I tend to assume I"ll be out by midnight, and if it"s a late one, well, these things happen...

+1, 5am start for me, but I can manage on little sleep. Maybe we can start earlier with a longer late reg ?

Aaaah, remember the year when we didn"t have the Saturday v Sunday debate?
No, me neither!!
There are pros and cons to both with different people having differing preferences but for me Sunday is already a poker night with various leagues, events on stars etc whereas saturdays is more of a night out and slap bang in the middle of the weekend. For Sunday games you could be away for the weekend and still play the game Sunday night.
As I said we all have different circumstances but Sundays are a big preference for me.
Same night for the 2 events is a must imho
-
2 Day online Nationals? Play 7pm until 1am Sunday, come back 7 o clock Monday night and play to a finish? :)

Quite like this.

Radical. Could work really well. Oh, and would extend the way that the online event mirrors the live event.
-
Sunday 6pm start with late buy-in till 8pm, seems to tick the most people"s boxes.

Been away for the week, but back now and following discussion with Tom & Des, I think this is exactly what we"ll be going for...
More info to follow very soon.
p.s. plus both main + side events being held on the same night (Sunday).
-
An earlier start on Sunday seems like the best compromise available - although playing over two nights would be really good, although I guess potentially difficult/impossible depending on Coral"s software. Do they have any multi-day events on there at the moment?
-
Pretty sure im in a minority but I liked the idea of having the side/ME on different days.
I find it very confusing playing 2 different formats at the same time....its an age thing I guess.

FWIW I hate this idea

This was part of the reasoning for splitting them. As well as wanting all main events (online nationals, cup and league) on the same day, with sides and supporting events on a different day, so as to avoid too many tables at once.
Have rejigged everything now and will post up very shortly.

I work shifts and sometimes of a weekend I am not home until 9pm. If I draw up my shift pattern on here could you work around it...?
I also work weekend on weekend off and sometimes the schedule as first released is ideal for me. So could we keep it as it is without any tinkering...?
No, I didn"t think so.... Nevermind..
I look at what the schedule is and I work around that. It is good that you listen to us and make adjustments to suit but one good idea accepted by most is sometimes a bummer for others.
Even so, cracking schedule and well done lads....

To having 2 different nights is wrong!!!!
A lot of people works shifts which includes weekends so having 2 nights ( lunacy )
Same night as it"s always been 1hr difference, plain and simple !!!!
-
A lot of people works shifts which includes weekends so having 2 nights ( lunacy )
...and a lot of people don"t.
It"s accepted that APAT can"t meet everyone"s particular requirements they just try to adapt to feedback and act for the benefit of the majority of players.
Does this mean that some players lose out?...Yep, but at least APAT does listen.
A recent quote from someone who understands.

Yes i do understand
but having your own opinon as everyone else is able to goes against APAT ???
don"t think so, just my 2pence worth like everone else

All Sundays.... Makes it easier for me to work around now... Not that I was likely to enter the side events anyway... ;D

FWIW i see where he of little hair is coming from on this one.
Surely it would be better to work for a solution for the people who CANT play 2 nights (as they work) rather than the people who CAN play whenever (whether they CHOSE to is another issue)
I believe this is what Gary was getting at?
Anyway, it has all been put on the same night now anyway hasnt it?
-
TY MR DRunky LOL :-Yeh that is what I was trying to put across and sadly failing :-[ :-[
Yeh all on same night which i think is best
GL to all playing these !! ;) ;)

We haven"t actually nailed the details for this down yet... But, I anticipate it being teams of 8 - the same teams that play the live event PLUS any new teams that want to enter...
I"ll be posting a Last (Last) Chance way to qualify for the Team Championships in but a few minutes... Watch this space!.

Not sure if anyone is aware, but myself and Des both have full time jobs outside of APAT. I worked a whopping 99 hours last week in fact! Absolutely knackered. This does unfortunately mean some announcements are delayed, as there simply isn"t enough hours in the day to finalise/sort them.

We know this mate :) (although 99hrs - are you mad!)
I feel confident in saying that the posts above were just banter - nobody should be getting upset at lack of announcements, although it can be mildly frustrating, especially for people who have to plan weeks in advance because of their work commitments, we know you guys do the best you can for us.

...yeah, and I have a WHOLE lot of parties and stuff to go to. On top of catching up on the Walking Dead on demand. So there. ;)
