Ricky Yuill gets it all in on a flop of A 10 5 holding J9o only to be called by K5 which holds up on a Turn 8 and River 8, and Ricky is our first casualty on Day 2, departing in 27th position.
-
Very soon after David Somerville holding Kd 8c shoves his stack pre-flop and is called by Erasmo Marco holding 9c 9d.
Board 9h 2c 4d 2s 4c sends David packing in 26th positon.
-
Following in 25th place is Colin Morrison who got it all in holding Ad Jd, called by Tom Noble with 10d 10s
Flop Qs 5s 5c
Turn 8c
River 6s
And we also lose Giancarlo Fedi in 24th seconds later.
-
Benjamin Burnhill sees a lucky Turn Card whilst getting it all in with Ah Jc -
Steve Kearns was sitting pretty with Kh Ks and a flop of 4h Qc 9c
only for the Turn Ac and River Qh to save Benjamin and double him up.
-
Coming to the end of L14 Martin Campbell gets it in pre-flop with 8c 8s
Called by Paul Thomson holding 10c 10d
Flop 7d Kh 9d
Turn Qd
River 2c
And Martin leaves us in 23rd spot.
-
Level 15
Andy Whiteford gets his 37.2k stack in holding Ac Qs and is called by Michael Symon holding Jd Jh.
4h 9h A s 6c 2h doubles up Andy and reduces Michael to 43k.
On another table Daniel Banukevic slips out/departs under the radar in 22nd.
-
L15 2000/4000 (500) Avg 123k - 21 players.
Fast and furious action at the moment -
Steve Kearns Ah Ks v Benjamin Burnhill A s Ad - Benjamin all in for circa 50k and Board runs 8h 8d 2d Qc Ac to double him up to 100k.
On another table Dennis Kennedy gets his stack in with 5c 5d against Andrew Good"s 8h 8d -
Board runs out 4c 6d Jc 4d Qh and Andrew"s higher pocket pair holds and reduces Dennis to circa 35k.
Next hand on a Board Qd Jc Ad Dennis gets his 35k stack all in holding Js Kd (3rd top pair) and is called by Paul Thomson with Qs 4h (2nd top pair)
Turn comes Qh and gives Paul Trip Queens and leaves Dennis needing a miracle on the River
And the River comes 10s to give Dennis a Top Straight and keep him in the game - reduces Paul to circa 150k
-
Dennis in the thick of it again when he gets it all in with Kc 9d, called by Andrew Good holding 8s 8h
Board 3s 5h Kh 9c 2h doubles up Dennis to circa 54k.
-
Jaroslaw Wolny all in short stacked with Ac 5s against Kevin Simpson holding 9c Qh
Flop Js 9h 3c
Turn 5d
and River Ah doubles Jaroslaw up to circa 25k, leaving Kevin on 200k
-
Again we have Dennis Kennedy in the thick of it - pushing all in and being called by Erasmo Marco (who has 160k behind) and after a long thinking time Paul Thomson pushes all in - Erasmo eventually folds.
Dennis tables Ac 8d against Paul"s A s Ks and dominating Dennis.
Flop comes 8c 5h 2h
Turn 3d and River 6d has Dennis" Flopped pair hold up and he trebles up to circa 200k.
-
Start of Day 2 chip leader Steve Kearns has been losing chips slowly but surely throughout the day, and he eventually gets his 26k stack in pre-flop holding 5h 5d - Jack Maskill makes the call with Ac Qs
Board Ah 5c 4s 7c 7s gives Steve the Full House and he doubles up.
-
Andrew green all in 9d Kc against Jaroslaw Wolny"s 7d 7s
and with a Board 7c Ac 5h Ad 6c Jaroslaw doubles up and reduces Andrew to circa 45k.
-
L16 3k/6k average 130k
Charles Kearns all in with As Ah against Tom Noble"s 5s 5d
Board Qs 9h 3h Qd 7c knocks out Tom in 21st spot.
-
We see 3-way action 1 off the bubble when Erasmo Marco pushes all in for circa 130k, called by Andrew Good and also Andrew Rooney (all in and covered).
Erasmo Jh Jd v Andrew Good Kc Kh v Andrew Rooney"s A s Qd
Flop 8h Ac 7h puts Rooney in front with pair Aces
Turn 6s keeps him in front
River Kd though sends him to the rail in 20th position and it makes Good"s trip kings.
(Andrew Rooney below)

Now on the bubble top 18 paid.
-
Steve Kearns gets it all in with Ah Ks and is called by Andy Whiteford holding Qd 9d
Board Js 6d 2c 3h 5s and Steve again survives all in all - now on circa 60k and Andy on 75k

To all the legends I spent the weekend with a huge thank you, hope to see you all again soon!
Why thank you Sir... it was great to see you again and I just wish I had a bit more time to enjoy a drink and a chat with you and the others.
The casino has been fantastic... in addition to the exceptional food (or just a nice change from Grosvenor? - no really, it was very, very good) (and reasonably priced wine!) this is a very nice Casino and Card Room.
My thanks go out to Sam and his team, and whilst playing some "cash" on Friday night it gave me great heart to witness that the standard of dealers her is very, very, very high - in charge of their table without ever being over Authoritative (I REALLY had to google "Authoritative" to get the spelling right but will never be confused again - author - it - ative!) it gave me great hope for the weekend - and it was not misplaced - thank you Sam.
I hope players/members felt the same - it would be good to have feedback as we consider Season 9..... (including negative feedback.. it all helps us make, hopefully, APAT bigger and better... - so go on - take 2 minutes....)
-
Yup, sterling work Tom, everyone appreciates it. Well done to John on the victory and the WCOAP, well played and to everyone else who played.
Cheers, Andy.
-
Cheers Tom, likewise would"ve been great to catch up but still great seeing you. Next time :)
Feedback
Positives - Great location, good sized card room, staff were excellent and dealers generally very good.
Negatives - Having a drink promotion then running out of 2 different draught beers on a busy Saturday night could"ve been planned better & staff were a bit under resourced at spells also. Tables are a bit grubby and side table chips are filthy, would be easy enough to have both cleaned.
-
thx tom and fountainpark for a fantastic weekend.
great venue and some good poker on display.
Very happy with my first apat final albeit only getting 9th..no complaints.
Banter was excellent
sat next to a whole bunch of apat heroes during the 2 days..rich baker and clare duffy to name but a few.
Always makes the game that much more enjoyable when next to friends
until the next one..ciao
-
Just home after a fab weekend in Edinburgh.
Thanks very much Tom for all your efforts this weekend, and it was good to chat about the update possibilities/situation etc. We all know it needs tweaking but you can"t please everyone! Lovely glass of white wine too, thank you :)
I thought the casino was great. Lots of space for everyone and a few eating places nearby. Nice clean toilets and card room seemed very organised. Food was good too.
I think they underestimated the drinking side of APAT though, as they did get low on some beers and I heard several of the lads having a grumble about it, and that was with a lot of the regulars being absent!
It was a long trek north for me, but well worth it as I got to see my favourite Scottish APATers. A fantastic weekend and I"m really glad I made the trip :)
Thanks again Tom.
