I think the filming for our teams Stacked Up cash league on Sky is this Tuesday which means it will be shown next Tursday (12th) at 9pm on Sky Poker (channel 846).
I"m sure Des will confirm this, but
Good luck to Tim, Nigel and Scouse for whenever it is anyway.
Team APAT ftw.
-
All above is correct, and our team finished the first week as one of only two teams (from six) that showed a positive return on investment (+3%).
The leading team has had their second and final appearance and have posted a final ROI of +15%.
So Team APAT have a real opportunity to win the series on Sky Poker (Channel 865), which would be an excellent feat.
Special mention must go to Nigel Johnson (Chelsea) also, who currently leads the table of all players individual ROI"s.
Good luck on Tuesday gents....
-
Yeah all the best guys, don"t let Steve donk off his chips this time :P All the best team, keep up the good recent form Stevie 8)

Good Luck Guys. Sky + has been set!
-
Good luck - hope the cards are kind!
Are you going to be increasing the amount you sit down with from last time?
-
Thanks for your comments and hopefully i wont lose all my chips in first half to struggle to win em all back in second half !
It is being filmed on Tuesday but it is being shown same night (5th) because we were supposed to have filmed it last week but bit of a communication break down !
Any way hopefully APAT win and nigel stays were he is on top !
-
Good luck today guys.
Spoke to Nigel last night and he"s looking forward to it, although I think he sounded a little nervous. Just all play you natural game and I"m sure Apat will be crowned champs.

The show will be on air between 9pm and 11pm this evening and repeated several times tomorrow. To view live, or the repeats, click below:-
Sky Poker - Channel 865 (https://www.skypoker.com/cms/poker_live_tv.shtm)
Stacked Up - Tuesday 9pm, Channel 865.
Stacked Up is our new weekly show, focusing on the art of playing at cash tables and showcasing the stars of the game to the nation! Stacked Up will see teams of 3, made up of expert poker players, Sky Poker analysts and novice players, compete in online cash poker games. Teams win by increasing their bankroll by a larger percentage than the other teams - so even teams with the smallest of bankrolls are in with a brilliant chance!
Tonight"s guests are from Team APAT
Name: Tim Magnus (c)
Poker Background: Tim has been playing Poker for four years, after learning the game at University. He is primarily a live tournament player and can regularly be seen at both the Gutshot and Big Slick cardrooms. This is Tim"s first "season" of appearances at APAT events, but it"s been a very successful one. In addition to winning the Welsh APAT event, he has made the final two tables of the UK event. Tim will be playing in the GUKPT this summer.
Name: Steve Bayliff
Poker Background: Steve has always loved playing cards, and started at a young age, but has only recently taking to playing Poker. He doesn"t mind playing cash or tournament poker, and is working hard to improve his game. He hasn"t had any big wins yet, but Steve has gone deep in two GUKPT events. He can be found playing live in his current home of Northern Ireland, and also at the Fortune Rooms, but Steve will also play "anywhere the APAT or GUKPT goes!"
Name: Nigel Johnson
Poker Background: Out of the three members of TeamAPAT, Nigel has been playing the game for the longest. With around five years of Poker played, Nigel will be hoping to bring his considerable cash game experience to bear. He plays in large Multi-table Tournaments and in 25nl or 50nl cash games, as well as regular home games.
Tonight"s show will be hosted by Sky Poker Presenter Michelle Orpe and James Browning Sky Poker Analyst .

Had another great day with the boys and girls down at Sky and with TK as the expert it was bound to be. We knew exactly what we had to achieve down to the last pound to take down the title and we finished the first session in great shape to do so.
Second session started a bit slow so as we hit the latter stages we knew we had to make some reckless moves in a hope to double up.
In a 5 minute spell Tim got so unlucky, his pocket A's ran into trip J's and then had a Full House busted by Quad 10's. :"(
That was about us dead in the water. Made some dumb ass playes in the very death of it in a vain attempt to claw a few % back but it was way too late.
All in all a fantastic experience, one that I hope more APATers will get the opportunity to enjoy.
-
i know this is competely irrelevent but u boys have got to be gutted it was that clown richard whatever his name is presenting and not the lovely lovely kara scott... that would be worth the experience itself! ;D
oh and tim.. remind me never to take advice from you again! lol ;D ;D
seriously though boys well played
-
The Boys got well unlucky - me instead of James Browning, & Richard Orford (who"s technically superb) instead of Michelle Orpe, who is, I"m told, well-constructed.
Time constraints mean"t I was unable to do an on-air "summing-up" at the end of the Show, I"m sorry, but TV time is like real-time, it somehow disappears when you most need it.
So I"d just like to say I was incredibly proud of the APAT Team last night. They played, win or lose, with broad smiles, conducted themelves well around the Studio, smiled lots, spoke well, & were generally a great credit to APAT. Even the Scouser. ;)
Seriously, top stuff guys, you are proper APAT-ers.
-
Great fun to watch guys, and your results don"t show your true performance, as you were very obviously chasing victory and played hands that you wouldn"t normally do. And I am sure Tim would have got away from those aces if he hadn"t been chasing a big win.
By the way who is that Daniel Phillips at the top of the leader board? ;)
-
Thank you all for your kind comments even tikay ;) !!
it was another great day with sky very enjoyable.
Tim said he was nt too bothered about losing with aces cos he got the Michelle s number !!
Daniel Philips is kinboshi mikey.
-
Thanks Steve, I did know really, I was just trying to be funny! Obviously failed again if a Scouser didn"t laugh!

lol no probs! i was just out of bed !!
-
Top of the leaderboard? How? That is my only question!
Over 4 x 50 minute sessions, there"s a huge amount of luck. I didn"t see the show last night, but it sounds like you "went for it" in the same way the blonde team did - and that means you"re taking a risk. One hand at the end of our second show and our best player lost a £350 pot - the swing in our ROI was obviously huge on that hand.
Scouse - I guess you"d had less to drink than you did in Blackpool at the cash game? ;D
-
He was well behaved (for a Scouser anyway) and looked totally sober. It was shocking!
-
I don"t know if anybody else saw it,but the camera did pan to Steve at one point just as he was stashing a can of some descript under the studio desk!
-
lol thank you all for saying i have a drinking problem !!
well u are all right stella aint enough alcohol in it !!
any way well done daniel!!
roll on london cant wait til see you all again cash or tourney prob cash for me cos cannot win an argument in APAT national lol !!

So that"s what the problem was all along Steve! :P
-
Thanks for the kind messages (except ant!!!!) ;)
Was a good afternoon. We all played quite a tight first half and were in a good postion . the second part of the second half we had to push and unbelievbaly I lost both time with aces. though in fairness I would never of played the first set of aces in the way that I did, if i didnt have to try and get maximum value. though looking back it was a stupid play as I was obviously beaten so I should of laid it down. that coming straight after blackpool, aces could be said to be my unlucky hand. then when i pushed my last £50 with a 10 i got called by aces and they held!
anyway, was really good fun, enjoyed the experience and recommend it to anyone. have been in touch with michelle since and I am aiming to teach her how to play poker properly ;D
see most of you in london, should be a good weekend!
-
well done boys, likes it lat night, scouse I like how you where going to go for it on the last hand , with ace queen and you folded to the 2 allins was a good fold. Looked like use had a fun time!!
