Pics from Day 2:
(to follow)
-
We have two busts already.
Lisa North from LPPL Terry"s team got knocked out in 51st place but I couldn"t get the details.
Over the other side of the room we see Ken McBride raise pre flop. He gets called by John Patten and we see a flop of 2h 3d 5c
John checks, Ken pushes all in and is instantly called.
Ken shows 10s 10h and John has Ac 4h
No help for Ken with the 8c and 8s on the turn and river and Ken, for The Degens Paulie finishes in 50th place.
-
Bill Sheppard gets his short stack in pre-flop with A s 6d against the Ac 9h of Graham Cutler (Midlands Poker Forum) and Bill has no luck on a Board of Qc 10s 4d 3d 10c and departs in 49th position just ahead of Geordie Poker"s Graham Moyanhan"s short stack finishing in 48th having been blinded out due to not turning up to play (and having departed early yesterday for a little sleep...)
-
Adam Stride of LPPL Terry has been eliminated in 47th place when his Kh Kc fell foul to Ad Qs of Mark Oldfield on a board of 7h 7d Js Ah 5s
-
Adam Sharples and Mark Lassman have a bit of a battle and get it all in, only to find they have the same hand...
The flop brings a sweat as Mark flops the flush draw but they chop it up in the end.
-
A raise, an all in and a call, see Matt Kay and Chris Williams all in pre flop.
Matt has As Kh
Chris has Ad 9h
The board runs out Qc 7d Qd 2s 2d
Chris, for GNF, finishes in 46th place.

Bang up to date points table will appear here: http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=19390.0
Tom & Lucy will be live blogging on this thread (i.e. the one you"re currently reading) and I"ll drop the updated points table and exits into this thread regularly too.
Leigh + special guests will be firing up the live stream soon. Link to follow when live.

Brutal hand for Dave Paxton (Paxo) of LPPL Chas.
Adam Smith, having gotten a little short, pushed all in pre flop.
Paxo finds Ah Ad and makes the call with a similar sized stack.
Adam shows 8h 5s
The flop comes Jd 9c 6s and the sweat for the straight is on...
It doesn"t last long with the 7s on the turn leaving Paxo drawing dead.
The 2d turn is irrelevant and Paxo is left crippled.
-
L14 1500/3000 (400)
Dan Carter (GNF) raises to 6.5k and Ian Witt (Team Gotham) pushes All In on the Button for 23.5k and is called by Mark Oldfield (LPM)
Ian tables a hopeful Ad 4h only for Mark to turn over Ah Ac
The Flop comes 3c A s 3h and Turn a 3d to have the table cry for the 4th 3 for a split pot... 8d ends that hope and Ian Witt departs in 45th place
-
Steve Roderick (Degens Rodders) holding 9d 9s is up against the Ad Qc of Ross Hibbert (LBPN A) who is all in.
Board runs out 4d 2h 7d 7s 7h and Ross departs in 44th with Steve"s stack now circa 220k.
-
Lots of technical challenges today, but the live stream is finally up now.
http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=19388.0
Commentary will start at 1pm.
-
Eloise Saranne (Blackbelt) has a bit of a run getting her short stack in with A s Kh against the Ac Qh of Chris Filus (Midlands Poker Forum) and holds up to increase to 44k
Shortly after she calls the All In from Dave Paxton (LPPL) holding 7s 8s with a 7600 stack, Eloise having called with 7c 6d... Board runs 10c 2c Js Kc Jc and Eloise hitting a flush sends Paxton out in 43rd
-
Dan Carter (GNF) calls the All In of David Meighan (LPPL)... Dan holds Kh Qc and David A s 6s
Qd on Flop with no future help for David and he departs in 42nd
Shortly After Adam Smith (BCPC) departs in 41st when his 2d 2s against Ad Qs doesn"t hold when Qh comes on the Turn
-
Chris Webber raised pre flop to 6k and Mike Scothern re raised all in.
Chris got a count and thought for a while.
He makes the call for around 37k with Ad Js
Mike has 9h 9s
The board runs out 10d 5h 2h 3c 4s
And Mike, for LBPN A is out.
-
Tom Slikboer, on the button, pushes all in.
He is called by Ed Stanborough who has around 20k.
Tom shows 8d 7h
Ed has Js Qd
The flop comes Qs 7c 6h both players catch a piece but Ed still looking good for the double.
The 2s turn makes no difference.
But the 7d river means it is all over for Ed from Degens Paulie.
-
All in pre flop we see Gareth Howard at risk and holding As Jc against the Ac Qc of Joe Beevers.
The flop seems pretty set with 3h Qd Qh
But the 10d turn brings a little hope...
The 5c river means that Gareth Howard from Midlands Ballbusters hits the rail.
-
Tom Slikboer knocking another player out when his Qh Qd held up against the Js 9s of Chris Filus on a board of Qc 5d Ac Kd Jh
Chris from Midlands Poker Forum hits the rail.
-
Didn"t catch all of this hand but, on a board of Kh Js 7s 9d 6c , Dan Carter moves all in and is called by Martin Sieder holding Ah Ks .
Dan, from GNF mucked and is out of the tournament.
-
Bob Law, fairly short stacked, pushed all in with Ks 10d and is very quickly re raised all in by Saranne Eloise. Everyone else gets out of the way and Saranne shows Qd Qs
The board comes down 7c 8c 7d ac Qh
Bob, from LPPL Chas, is sent to the rail.
-
Having gotten it all in pre flop, Tom Slikboer"s good run continues when his Qc 9c managed to out draw the Qd 10s of Kevin Berrie on a 2c 4s 5d 9h 2d board.
Kevin, from BCPC is sent to the rail.
Tom quietly stacked his chips.

Great to see UK poker legend Joe Beevers playing an APAT.
-
Departing in 34th is Lloyd Jones (Frome) when his pocket 77 against George Dickson"s pocket 66 see a 6 on Flop...
In 33rd Paddy Kenny (LBPN B) follows Lloyd to the rail when his A s 8d against Mark Sieder (Sutton Poker) 8c 8h gets killed when the first card out is 8s...
Simon Allen (The Pokeriety) slips out quietly in 32nd...
Gary Peniket (Joe Beevers Forum) gets his short stack All In holding Qh 9s and is called by Eloise Saranne who tables A s Kh... no luck for Gary with a Board 8d 7c 4s 7s 3h and he"s off to the rail in 31st place
Grant Mason (Kracked Kings) departs in 30th when his 6s 6h doesn"t improve against the 9s 9h of George Dickson (Blonde Poker)
We lost Tony Trippier in 29th when his 10d Js all in for 20k is called by Jason Kemp (APAT) holding Ks Jd on a dry board for Tony
-
Chris Neale pushed pre flop and Mark Lassman re raises all in.
Everyone else gets out the way and we see Mark with 9h 9s and Chirs has Ac Ks
The board runs out 4d 6h 8h 5d Qc
Chris, from Bristol Poker Meetup finishes in 28th place.
-
Jason Kemp (APAT) is all in with Ah 10d against the 10h 10s of Mark Oldfield (LPM) with 10c on Flop sending him to the rail in 24th
Martin Dean (Kracked Kings) departs in 23rd when his short stack doesn"t even cover his BB and he"s not at the table...
Adam Sharples (Blonde Poker) is all in for 25k with 2 callers... it is checked to the River on a Board 4c 6c 3c 5h 8d where Phil Stein (Blue Blood) bets and Gary Colclough (Sutton Poker) gets out of the way... Phil tables Ac 8c for 2nd nuts... Adam mucks and leaves us in 22nd... taking us to the money bubble...
-
I have been watching the feature table for a long while this morning, and will give you a few of the major hands from the afternoon"s play so far.
Hand 1 - Binds 2k/4k
Paul Pitchford raises to 9k after a few folds, Gary Colcough and Joe Beevers both call and we see a flop
Qh 9d 8h
Everyone checks and we go to the turn
A s
Gary leads out for 10k, Joe gets out of the way and Paul calls
3s
Both players quickly check and Gary shows his AK, Paul Mucks and Gary rakes in the pot
The next hand, and things escalated rather quickly!
Hand 2 - 2k/4k
The action folds to Tristan and he raises to 8.5k, next to act Gary is on the button and calls, with Joe calling in the small blind. Phil is in the big blind and after a think, raises to 23.5k!
Tristan thinks for a while, and finds the call, with Gary very quickly putting his call in. Joe then looks at his hand one more time and moves all in!!
Phil asks for a count and looks pained. He looks at Joe, who is sat back in his seat and looking comfortable. Phil eventually folds, and Tristan who has been sat quietly while all this has been going on calls, with a very similar stack to that of Joe.
Gary gets out of the way and the cards are on their backs
Joe 2h 2s
Tristan Js Jd
The flop comes a very interesting 6s 3c 5c giving Joe a few more outs
The turn Qh is no help and neither is the river of Qc and after a lot of counting (100 chips still on the table for antes is NOT helping speed these things up!) Joe is left with 5k, and Tristan is up to 340k and towards the chip lead in the tournament.
Hand 3 2k/4k
Joe, with his now decimated stack, pushes all in for 5k after the action is folded to him in late position, with less than 1bb. Phil calls the BB, Brian makes up from the small and Paul checks his option.
The flop comes A s Jd 10d and the action is checked around by the 3 remaining players.
Turn 4s
Brian checks, Paul checks and Phil fires a bet into the middle that is met by instant mucks from the other 2.
Phil shows Ks Qd for the flopped straight
Joe Jc 10c and is still live to any Jack or 10!
The river unfortunately comes such a blank that I forgot to write down what it was and we lose Joe to the bar after a quick interview on the live stream.

A while later and we lost another few players in quick succession
John Patten of Gambling Network Forum was short stacked with about 18k at blinds of 3k/6k/600a
Paul raised to 14k from early position and John shoved for 18k, it folds back round to Paul who makes the call for 4k more and the cards are on their backs.
John - A2
Paul - KQ
The flop runs out 4s Kd 10d giving Paul the lead.
The cry of ACE! Goes up from the rail.
They are rewarded with the A s !
Unfortunately for John and his fans the river is the Jh giving Paul the straight and sending John off to the rail.
Shortly after, we lose Andy Duncan
The action folds round to Andy who shoves his last 42k into the pot and Phil calls from the button, the blinds fold and the cards are
Andy 10d 10c
Phil Ac 6c
The Midlands Ball Busters gathered round, pulling for Andy as they are still in with a chance of winning their battle with Blonde poker.
The flop however would break Midlands hearts as it comes
9d Ah 9d leaving Andy in need of one the remaining 2 10 s in the deck to survive.
The turn 4s and river Qs are no help and Andy leaves his captain BRIAN YATES to carry the fight to Blonde alone. He will now need to outlast all Blondes remaining players to stand a chance of bringing home the gold.

Blondepoker Captain Geo "thesarge" Dickson...on the cusp of leading his team to the Championship.
-
And the bubble has burst!
Derek Maughan pushed all in and was called by Paul Pitchord.
They both table aces but Derek"s A s with 5c kicker is dominated by Paul"s Ac 7c
Shouts for a 5 from Derek"s rail were not heard and the first card on the flop was 7h
The rest of the board left for little sweat with Kh 2c 6s 3c
Derek, from LPPL Terry goes out in 21st place and is the "bubble boy" - all other players are in the money. Well done to the remaining 20 players.

This thread will continue with the "spoiler free" table. (so only posted after the live update reveals a player is out).
-
Glenn Townsend (Blonde Poker) gets his 41k stack all in with A s 9c and is called by Matt Carter (LPM) with Ah Qc and Glenn spikes 9h on Turn to double up
Chris Tilbury"s (LBPN B) Qc 10c is up against the Ad Jc of George Dickson (Blonde Poker) and with a Board 2h 7h 7d Jh 8h Chris departs in 20th
Chris Webber (Team Gotham) Kd Qd against Matt Carter"s (LPM) Ad Js and Matt gets a double up...
-
Chris Webber and Matt Carter get tangled in a hand that leaves Chris crippled when his late position shove with Ks Qh gets called by Matt's Ac Jh
The board runs out with, not the one but, two aces on the flop leaving Chris drawing dead.
Next hand, Chris shoves his, now less than a minimum raise, stack.
Much debate across the table about the action for the remaining players and Mark Oldfield in the small blind makes up the min raise as does Graham Cutler in the big blind.
The flop comes 9d 3c Ac and Chris looks happy.
Mark and Graham both check.
The turn is 8d and Chris looks less happy.
Again, the other two check.
The river is the 8h and Chris looks dejected.
The other two check and Mark declares and Ace as Graham announces he has nothing.
Mark shows Ad 10s
Graham mucks.
Chris tables Kc Jc and had flopped the flush drawer to give him hope but didn"t get there.
Chris, from Team Gotham, is sent to the rail.
-
We are down to 2 tables here and we have just had another exit.
Paul Pitchford raises from mid position.
Tom Slikboer re raises all in.
It folds back to Paul who makes the call.
Paul has 3h 3s
Tom has Kc 10s
The flop is not kind to the all in player and Paul takes a further lead with 4c 7d 3c leaving Tom needing a lot of help.
The turn shuts him down Ah
The river is a little rub down, too little too late 10d
Tom, from APAT Chocolate Lovers is out in 18th place.
We quickly and very quietly lose two players from the feature table:
Phil Stein from Blue Blood finished in 17th place
Tristan Chaplin from Black Belt Poker finished in 16th place.
I am told that maybe Paul Pitchford had something to do with it...

In this event last year Blonde Poker cruised to a 26th place finish. This year, under the captaincy of Geo the Sarge they are guaranteed at least silver!

In this event last year Blonde Poker cruised to a 26th place finish. This year, under the captaincy of Geo the Sarge they are guaranteed at least silver!
The last time I played for Team Blonde in this event I was the first person knocked out of the tournament, so this feels somewhat cathartic.
Well played fellow Blondes!

Glen Townsend is first to act and moves all in.
Dave Potts fairly quickly re raises all in over the top.
It folds round to Dave"s team mate, Gary Oldfield who thinks about it and asks for a count and agonises over this decision and eventually folds.
Glen shows Ad Kc and Dave has Ac Qc
The board runs out 3h 10d 7d 4d (at this point, Gary is not impressed with his decision but...) 3c
No help for Dave and he is crippled while Glen is doubled through.
-
Next hand Dave Potts gets it all in with Ks 7s and is called by team mate Mark Oldfield holding Jc Js and Dave departs on a Board 6s 10s 4d Jd 8d
On the feature table Sarrane Branter gets her 122k stack in holding Ad 8s and doubles up when she hits 8h on Flop...
On a Flop Ad 2d Kd Gary Colclough (Sutton Poker) gets his stack in holding A s 7c and is instant called by pocket KK and departs in 13th
-
On the outer table we see Matt Kay push all in and be called by Mark Oldfield.
Matt has Ks Jc
Mark has Ac Js
The board runs out 7h 9c Qs 9s 5d
And we lose Matt from BCPC in 12th place.
-
Not long after, we see Adam Smith push all in and be called by Matt Carter.
Adam has 2d 3h and Matt has Ks Qs
The board comes Jc Qd 6s 6h Kh
And Adam, also from BCPC, hits the rail, finishing in 11th place.
We are now one player away from final table...
-
On the feature table, we see Suranne double up courtesy of Rodders when his pocket 9"s were no match for her Ah Ks on a Qh 6d Ad 10h 4s board. Rodders is still in but has taken a fair battering.
And it isn"t too long after that we have our final table of nine.
Rodders makes a move and goes all in from the cut off for 115k
After the count, Brian Yates makes the call.
We see Rodders turn over 7c 5h
Brian has As Qd
The board runs out Jd 8s 8h Qc Ac
And we lose Rodders from Degen Rodders in 10th place.

Final table of 9 about to begin. Chip counts are as follows:
Latest Chipcounts
Paul Pitchford | APAT Fish With Chips | 780k |
Glenn Townsend | Blonde Poker | 256k |
Mark Lassman | Edgworth Cricket Club | 618k |
Brian Yates | Midlands Ballbusters | 626k |
Sarrane Branter | Blackbelt Poker | 339k |
George Dickson (C) | Blonde Poker | 128k |
Matt Carter (C) | London Poker Meetup | 136k |
Mark Oldfield | London Poker Meetup | 234k |
Martin Sieder | Sutton Poker | 268k |
-
The final table got underway around fifteen minutes ago and play here is incredibly slow. Small raises pre flop getting through and only two or three flops have been seen...
As I am typing this, the action comes!
Brian makes a raise from the button to 27k
Suranne folds and Geo moves all in for 97k
It folds round to Brian who thinks for a while, counts out the chips and makes the call.
Brian has Ad 8h
Geo has Qd Js
The flop comes down 7h 9s 8d giving Geo the inside straight draw and including 4 more outs in his favour.
The Kd makes no difference, Geo still needing a queen, jack or ten.
The river brings the 9c and the captain of the winning Blonde poker team, George Dickson, is sent to the rail!
Very well played to him, he will receive £105 to go with his team gold.
-
The players seem to be loosening up a little bit here and we see a little action.
Mark L and Paul tangled with a raise pre, a bet, raise and call on the flop and an all in from Mark on the turn.
Paul thought for a while but folded and Mark added around 220k to his stack.
A few hands later and Matt announces all in from mid position.
It folds to Paul in the big blind who asks "how much?" with a wry giggle and a smile at Matt.
93k more for Paul to call and he hesitantly throws in a chip to make the call.
On their backs: Matt has Ac 6h , Paul has Ks 8c
The board comes out 3s Jh Qh 7h 3d and Matt gets the double up and now has around 240k.
-
Not much later and we see Mark O bet out to 36k and Glen re raise all in.
Mark very quickly calls and turns over Ks Qs
Glen, who has been incredibly quiet til this, turns over Ah Ad
The board comes 3h 5s Jd Kc 9c
And we lose Mark Oldfield in 8th place, well played to him, he takes £160 to go with his Bronze team medal.
-
So, still fairly quiet here, small raises pre flop either getting through or being met with resistance and folding before a flop.
Glenn has been remarkably quiet and, I believe has only played aces all in, but the rest are fairly even in taking turns at taking the blinds.
-
And again, as soon as I start typing the action starts!
Suranne makes her first move of the final table and min raises pre flop.
Matt immediately to her left moves all in.
Martin then asks for the count, 224k, re raises all in over the top.
It folds round to Suranne who reluctantly folds.
Matt has Kd Qh
Martin shows 9d 9h
The flop comes down with a little hope for Matt with 2c Js Ac meaning he has some draws as well as the two over cards to Martin"s 9"s.
The turn is 2s , no help nor hindrance
And the river is a very insignificant As
We lose Matt Carter in 7th place. Well played to him, he will go home with £205 more in his back pocket and a Bronze team medal for his cabinet.
-
Still not a lot to report here, Brian increased his stack somewhat courtesy of Mark and Suranne has gotten two pre flop all in shoves through so has increased her stack nicely by collecting the blinds and antes there.
We are currently in Level 21, blinds are 10k/20k with an ante of 2k meaning that there is 42k in the pot to be taken in blinds and antes.
-
Glenn pushes all in pre flop and under the gun.
Mark Lassman, next to act, counts out the call and makes it.
It folds to Paul in the big blind who thinks for a while and announces "you"re normally so tight" sighs and folds.
Glenn shows 4h 4s
Mark has 6d 6c
Mark is extremely pleased and slams the table at the good read and call.
But the flop soon ends his pleasure and swiftly delivers 3s 4c Jh and Glenn takes a lead.
The turn is the 2d and gives Mark a few more outs with the inside straight draw.
But the river is the 7h and Glenn doubles through again.
-
Saranne further increases her stack.
She raises pre flop to 55k and Brian calls.
We see a flop of 8d 10d 2h
Brian checks and Saranne moves all in.
Brian thinks for a while and eyes her stack up, getting a rough count. He eventually shows a 10 and folds.
Saranne flips her Ac Qc and scoops the pot!
She is now on around 400k.
-
After a request from the players, there will be a fifteen minute break at the end of this level - less than one minute.
We will be back in fifteen minutes.
-
On a 15 min break latest chip counts:
Paul Pitchford | APAT Fish With Chips | 852k |
Glenn Townsend | Blonde Poker | 359k |
Mark Lassman | Edgworth Cricket Club | 374k |
Brian Yates | Midlands Ballbusters | 995k |
Sarrane Branter | Blackbelt Poker | 392k |
Martin Sieder | Sutton Poker | 643k |
-
Another all in pre flop from Glenn.
Martin raised and Glen pushed over the top.
Martin fairly quickly made the call with 5c 5d
Glenn shows Ad Kc
The flop brings and interesting Ac 2c 4c giving Glenn the lead but giving Martin a couple of straight outs - slightly restricted by Glenn"s flush draw.
The turn is a Kd improving Glenn"s hand unnecessarily and leaving Martin still needing a 5 or a 3
The river is 6h and Glenn gets the double up.
-
Only a few hands later and we see Mark push all in from the button.
Brian, in the small blind, makes the call and Sarranne in the big blind folds.
Mark has 2c 2d and Brian has As 9s
The flop is 10d Qc Qs
The turn is 4h
Mark needs to avoid a 9, 4, 10 and ace to avoid elimination...
But the Ac on the river brings many groans from the rail and means his time at this final table is done.
Mark Lassman finishes in 6th place and goes home with £265, well played to him.
-
Couple of interesting plays but no real significant hands.
Brian led out having flopped a set of queens and Paul found a fold.
Brian and Martin tangled pre flop and Brian ended up folding to Martin"s all in showing the As as he did. Martin announced he "had a better kicker then"
Saranne has made a few shoves and Paul has gathered a few more chips.
Glenn has yet to speak since his last double up...
-
Chip stacks as we come towards the end of Level 22 are roughly:
Paul: 500k
Glenn 500k
Brian 1.4m
Sarranne 650k
Martin 480k
Blinds in the next level (around ten mins time) will be 20k/40k with a 4k ante and the average stack is 720k.
-
It folds round to Surranne in the small blind, she raises to 82k.
Martin, in the big blind, moves all in and Surranne instantly makes the call.
Surranne has Qh Jc
Martin shows Ad Js
The flop comes down with 9d Ks 6s Surranne now looking for a Q or a 10 to save her tournament life...
The turn is 6c and the river is As
We lose the last standing female player, Surranne Branter in 5th place. She receives £385, very well played to her.
-
The last hand has put Martin above 1 million in chips and leaves us with 4 players.
That means we have reached that point...the medal bubble! Top three will receive bronze for third, silver for second and gold for first.
-
Folds to Paul in the small blind, he quickly shoves and Glenn in the big blind quickly makes the call.
Paul has 6c 3c
Glenn has Ah 10c
The board runs out as Qh Ks 4h Qs 10s
After a count, we find Glenn has Paul slightly covered.
Paul Pitchford is the medal bubble boy and goes out in 4th place for £470, well played to him.
-
I am informed that no player has ever done the double gold medal win in a team event - winning team and winning individual...
Glenn has a chance of being the first...and now, with a stack of around a million following his all in win against Paul...
Could history be made?
-
Big pot for Brian here, Martin raised to 100k and Brian called in the big blind.
The flop came down 10h Qc 6c
Both players check.
The turn is 8s
Brian bets 130k
Martin raises to 280k and Brian makes the call.
The river is the 8c
Brian checks and Martin thinks and eventually checks behind.
Brian shows Jc 7c for the rivered flush and Martin says "I knew it" and mucks his hand.
Brian adds that pot to his stack.
-
Martin get a nice double up from Glenn.
Glenn raises pre flop from the button and Martin moves all in for around 540k, Glenn calls.
Glenn shows Ac 7d
Martin has Qs 9h
The flop brings a 9 and no more help for Glenn.
Martin is back around the 1 million mark and Glenn is around 640k.
-
Martin adding more chips to his stack.
He raises pre flop to 85k
Brian makes it 185k and Martin calls.
The flop is Qh 10c 3h
Brian bets 185k
Martin moves all in and Brian thinks for a minute and folds.
Martin scoops a sizeable pot.
-
Martin and Brian seem to just be swapping chips around!
Brian raises to 90k and Martin calls.
The flop comes on 6c 9s 9c
Both players check.
The turn is 9h and both check again.
8d for the river.
Brian bets out 100k
Martin announces that he has a "bluff catcher" and eventually makes the call.
Brian shows Jd 6h and Martin sighs and mucks.
-
Brian raises from the button to 95k
Martin re raises to 250k
Brian says "all in" and the count is just over 1.5m
Martin declares "I"m not much of a believer right now and I have a good hand"
But after a think, he folds.
Brian has around half of the chips in play currently.
-
Glenn moves all in for 517k
Brian, having asked for the count, agonizes and thinks and eventually makes the call and quickly flips Kd Qs
Glenn sighs and tables Jd 9c
The flop is 5h Jh 6d and Glenn takes the lead.
The turn, Ad means Glenn has to avoid a 10, Q and K in the river...
The Qh falls and it is all over for Glenn.
Very well played Glenn Townsend. As part of team Blonde, he has his Gold team medal, his share of the team winnings of £3000 and he also now has a Bronze individual medal and £650 for his 3rd place finish.
-
Players elected for a five minute break.
Martin goes into this heads up battle with around 1.3m chips
Brian has 2.3m
Good luck to both, 1st place will receive the Gold medal and £2010
Second place will receive the Silver medal and £1020.
-
Bit of a hand here.
Martin flat called from the button and Brian made it 175k
Martin calls and we see a flop of 10c 3d Kd
Brian checks and Martin bets out 200k.
Brian calls.
The turn is 4s and both players check.
The river is 5d
Brian moves all in
Martin looks dejected and eventually, very reluctantly folds.
-
More action here.
Brian raised pre flop to 125k and Martin makes the call.
The flop comes down 2h 3s 4h
Martin checks.
Brian best 125k
Martin raises to 250k
Brian re raises all in and Martin, after a long think, folds his hand.
-
A penultimate look at the leaderboard now we"re heads up :)

From the opposite extreme!
Both players flat pre flop and check it to showdown.
The board is Qd 10d Qh 2d 7c
Martin announces "8 high"
Brian says "8 high or ace high?"
Martin "8 high"
Brian "me too".
They chop the pot...
-
Martin scoops a pot of around 450k
He raises 125k pre flop and gets the call.
Flop comes down 4s Kc 2h
Both check.
The turn is 9s and Martin bets 100k
Brian calls.
They both check the turn and Martin"s 7d 9c is better than Brian"s As 3d
-
Both players limp and we go to the flop.
It flop comes down with 7h 4s 6c
Brian bets 125k and Martin raises all in.
Brian stands up from the table and asks for a count while pacing...
The count is 786k...Brian eventually makes the call!
Brian shows Ks 7c
Martin has 10s 8s
Martin has two lots of straight outs and two overs to Brian"s flopped pair.
The turn brings groans and sighs from Brian"s rail as it is the 10c and Martin takes the lead and is looking set for the double up.
But...it isn"t over until it is over...
The river is the Kc !!!
Brian re takes the lead and the tournament!!
-
Martin Sieder takes second place, a Silver medal and £1010, very well played to him.
Brian Yates is our APAT Coral Team UK Championship Individual Winner and will receive a Gold Medal and £2010! Very well played to Brian indeed.
-
Some "thank yous" from the weekend:
A big thanks to Luton Casino and staff for being so welcoming and helping us put on such a large event. Thanks to our sponsors Coral whose support enables us to run the event, provide a live text update and now some very cool live streaming too. Please support Coral by downloading and playing on the APAT Coral poker room from: http://www.apat.com/online - it"s numbers playing on the APAT version of Coral that allow the support to continue!
Thank you to Alex for her brilliant photography skills (and patience! Trying to get 30 teams of 8 photgraphed is like herding cats!). Thanks to Leigh for his awesome live streaming and commentary throughout the weekend (very impressive!).
Thank you to Lucy and Tom for their great updating throughout the weekend.
Most of all thanks to all the players who made the trip to Luton and all the groups and forums that took part and/or applied to play. It"s you that make the weekend so memorable and a pleasure to work at :)
-
This was my first APAT event and certainly won"t be the last. The whole weekend was excellent and both APAT and the casino should be rightly proud for delivering such an awesome event. Maybe a little more room between the tables would have been nice for those of us more horizontally challenged than others but that was the only minor issue.
The £5 STT at 2am this morning looked fun, not sure my liver would have coped though - you guys know how to party.
I"m now trying to rearrange my travel plans that currently mean I"m going to miss the whole of WCOAP :-(
-
Well done all.
Must correct Lucy though, Ben Walton did the double the last time the team event was played at Luton.!!!
