Hand #86 - Dennis Phillips
Scott Montgomery has the button in Seat 4. After Peter Eastgate folds, Dennis Phillips makes it 1.3 million to go. Demidov asks Phillips for a count before calling the raise. Off to the flop we go.kc :3d: :3h:  Demidov quickly checks to Phillips, who bets 2.55 million, just slightly less than what"s in the pot. Demidov doesn"t take long to call. Both players check the turn. 7c The river is the  ks, double-pairing the board and drawing a low murmur from the crowd. Again Demidov checks it over to Phillips. Phillips bets 5 million. Demidov is shaking his head and talking to himself, perhaps wondering what he"s gotten himself into here. Phillips has his hands interlocked in front of his face, eying all of the fidgety motions of Demidov. After two minutes in the tank, Demidov seems no closer to a decision. At one point he flips his hands up in the air slightly as if to say, "What do I do?" and then lets out an audible sigh. His lips are moving, perhaps working backwards through the action in the hand. Phillips keeps glancing at him. Finally, Demidov calls! Phillips opens  kh qs for a full house, kings full of treys, to the jubilant roars of the Dennis Phillips Army. Obviously, after taking so long to call, Demidov can"t beat him. He quietly mucks his hand. Dennis Phillips is now up to 27.55 million in chips. That pot sends Demidov back down to the pack with 31.075 million.

my bet ivan slow played aces  ;D

Conflicting reports;

Bluff mag say it"s Demidov who is CL - see here (http://www.bluffmagazine.com/tournaments/tournament-chip-counts.asp?tid=6885&grid=588)

PokerNews say it"s Eastgate - see here (http://www.pokernews.com/news/2008/11/wsop-main-event-day-8-final-table-eastgate-demidov-play-for-title.htm)

Surely it cannae be that difficult to report on at this stage ... ?!?!?

no eastgate is chip leader by about 20 million off the top of my head,about 70 million ish to 50 million ish .. i guess its going to be a fairly long HU encounter with 2 hour levels but Eastgate is aggressive so you never know  ;D

it finished about 9am this morning , i stayed up all night listening to it  lol....
Great commentary although Nick Geber is a complete fish at guessing hand ranges lmao but at least he admits to it  :D

The mole told me to back Eastgate as he has played against him for years and met him a few times too,having a very high opinion of him.
Steph lumped on him at 7/1,i completely forgot,and now i"m cheering the russian ::) :D

Tue, 11 Nov 2008 02:08:16  Saved by the Bell?  Just as things are starting to heat up and it seems that Peter Eastgate may have Ivan Demidov on the ropes, we come to our next twenty-minute break. The chip counts at the break are: Ivan Demidov - 16,350,000 Peter Eastgate - 120,550,000

Gotta be one hell of a comeback!!

agreed its not looking good for ivan , but hey ho we"ve all been there and know that sudden rush of cards + hitting flops big can suddenly come from nowhere.
Eastgate will be a worthy champion but i"m still rooting for ivan.

Its all over, Eastgate sucks out, and leaves Demidov"s 2 pair no where!
