Poker Tracker 3 is basically as close to an industry standard for Hold "em tracking as you can get but I know A LOT of people are now switching to Hold "em Manager - I personally know 3 close friends who swore by Poker Tracker but say Hold "em Manager blows it out the water now, add that to a bunch of online aquaintences who say the same.

I don"t use tracking software but considering getting Hold "em Manager soon and have just downloaded Poker Tracker Omaha...

Where you getting Hold "em Manager for free? Is it legally free or off something like Pirate Bay? As far as I know PT3 is $55 and Hold "em Manager is $79...

I have recently obtained holdem manager and managed to get the hud working.  As i am not an IT wizard grateful if  someone out there be able to help me.

Although I am gathering data on the people at tables which I am playing, I am not collecting any on tables which I have open but am not sat at.  Is this normal or am I missing something?  I would have thought that HM would gather stats from any open tables.  Perhaps this is the case and the data is stored somewhere in the depths of my hard drive waiting me to seek it out and feed it into HM.

Grateful for any help on this issue and any other tips with regard to best using HM.  It has soooo many options!!

Thanks in advance.

All the best,

Dave

I use PT3 but the principle is the same for the issue you discuss here. You only get information from tables that you are playing at. To get information from other tables (whether open or not) is known as datamining. Most sites consider this illegal as you are getting information you would not normally have through playing with someone. I haven"t tried datamining but I think additional software is required for specific sites.

Thanks for the info.  Just been doing some google research and come to the same conclusion. Guess I will just have to grind out a dbase.

As there is so much info available on HEM, does anyone have details of a site that informs how best  to use the info. The HEM "how to do it" area is very basic and mainly appears to make statements of the obvious.  Guess I am looking for info on HEM strategy and experiences of use of the data, how best to get reads on players, which values give what info etc.

The advice for beginners appears to be keep it simple but with so much data available there must surely be some gems out there.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Check out the poker officer forum (poker officer is just for pkr).  The forum has very basic details on how to use each of the stats.

easy lol all bookmarked and filed :)

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/114/pokertracker/
just add a raises percentage guide lol :)
Reasonable Hand Groups and their Numbers
Premium Hands: AA, KK, QQ, AKs    1.65%
"Group 1" hands: add the JJ    2.11%
"Top 10" hands: add TT, AQs, AJs, KQs, AK    4.4%
Any pocker pair    5.9%
"Group 3" hands: 99, JTs, QJs, KJs, ATs, AQ    2.56%
Any suited Ace    3.6%
"Group 4" hands: T9s, KQ, 88, QTs, 98s, J9s, AJ, KTs    3.77%
Any unsuited Ace    10.9%
Any Ace, suited or not    14.9%
"Group 5" hands: 77, 87s, Q9s, T8s, KJ, QJ, JT, 76s, 97s, Axs, 65s    7.39%
"Group 6" hands: 66, AT, 55, 86s, KT, QT, 54s, K9s, J8s, 75s    5.13%
"Group 7" hands: 44, J9, 64s, T9, 53s, 33, 98, 43s, 22, Kxs, T7s, Q8s    7.99%
"Group 8" hands: 87, A9, Q9, 76, 42s, 32s, 96s, 85s, J8, J7s, 65, 54, 74s, K9, T8    9.95%
Any 2 suited cards   23.5%
Any two connectors   14.5%
Any suited connector   3.6%

The Villan is seeing 26% of the flops, and Raising 20% of the time, over 900 hands basically raising every time -  then the hands we look at are from the top 4 groups (that would stretch "down" as far as hands like AJ, 98s, KTs) he"d still only be raising 11% of the time. So he"s entering pots with a WIDE range of hands. If we include any pocket pair, he"d be near a pfr of 16%. That"s still not as high for our Villan. Perhaps he raises with suited connectors as well? If he did, that would put him at a pre-flop raise number of 20%.

Villan raises 13% of the time, over 2,400 hands. I"ve seen him win a hand where he raised preflop with a pair of 3"s, and hit his set. So, I know he raises any pair. That"s 5.9%. Add the top three hand groups, and he"d have a pfr of nearly 13%.When he raises, I would put him on a range of: any pocket pair, or hands from the first three groups. If he raised in Late Position, I would include some hands from group four, like AJ/KQ/T9s.

but tbh u still cannot beat good ole instinct , imho do not rely on tracker stats as this leads to laziness.

You need a mining tool to gather info from tables you are not playing.  The best I have found are the Spadeit ones but I believe HEM has its own now.
