If you have already qualified for Walsall, then you cannot win another seat or clickfest in.

This is done so to give everyone a fair chance at gaining a seat.

What would happen if somebody who already had a seat did enter the sat and "won", or went through the clickfest and bought another one?

Would they just be manually removed from getting a seat and either the money put on their account (for the sat) or the money not charged (for the clickfest) ?

I ask because it has been stated elsewhere that you can register for other people in the clickfest.

Is the key that it has to be under their name?

So the clickfest you can do - but you"d have to have the other persons name down as who the seat is for. But the satellite you couldn"t do because thats obv going to be in your name.

???

The clickfest you can buy in for anyone - you just enter their name and then your payment details (or theirs if they"ve given them to you).  That"s absolutely fine.

Playing in a satellite for someone else isn"t fair.  the whole point of qualifying is to qualify for the tournament you"re going to play in.  If someone wants to play and doesn"t want to satellite in, then they have to buy-in like everyone else.

This is basically my point of view, but it was the question of how this is avoided that interested me.

i.e. What happens if somebody who already has a seat wins a satellite?

That would only really happen if they had already won a satellite.  If this were to happen then they would have to receive the cash into their Blue Sq account, but that would also mean that someone else has missed out on a seat and that really goes against what APAT is all about, so I would hope no players would enter a satellite after they have already qualified.  Seems a bit pointless to me.

Just out of curiosity what does happen if Matt wins another seat tonight?  Does he just get the cash equivalent and the seat be added to the click-fest allocation?

I would imagine there would be a forming of an angry mob composed of Des, Leigh and Ian and any others as required.  They would then run Matt out of town with torches and pitchforks.  And rightly so.

I think if u win a seat you shouldnt be allowed to play another satty.

A lot of people can afford to play walsall but use the satty as a tool of avoiding the clickfest

Very true.

At a regional last season at Walsall, a local asked why we were so bothered about a satellite for £75 tournament.

I had to explain that it wasn"t the entry fee that was prohibitive - it was the demand for seats.  Qualifying before the clickfest guarantees a seat.  All the money in the world (well, that might be an exaggeration) can"t ensure you"ll get a seat in the clickfest.

If someone who has a seat finishes as one of the winners in a subsequent satellite, I wouldn"t want to be the one who bubbles...

Unfortunately we cannot stop people from playing other satellites.  What we can do is ensure that they cannot win another seat and then sell that on to whomever they choose.

The person in question is currently near the chiplead as I write, and I hear what Dan is saying about the bubble.

In the case of tonights satellite, there are 14 seats and $5 for the bubble, so without this persons buy-in there would have only been 13 seats + cash for 14th.

And if they do finish in the top 14, then they just get the cash and that"s an extra seat for the clickfest.

However, it would be far easier, if when you have qualified, you don"t enter anymore satellites.

Did Des not say earlier he has to sell the seat via the seat exchange?  In the interests of fairness and to assuage any controversy, I"ll take his seat and let this just be a lesson to us all for future satellites.

I dont really have a problem with Matt playing tonight (although I personally wouldnt have bothered if I had already won a seat) as there are no rules to say he cant. I think we need a rule in place to save any future problems.

Because it wasn"t a qualifier for any random APAT national, it was specifically Walsall.
Title: Re: walsall sat

I would guess Matt wanted to play with his mates and there is no harm in that.  We"ll write the rule down for the next event and there will be no confusion or excuses.

Right now, imo, we will offer the seat to whoever bubbles in tonight"s satellite.  That seems appropriate.

Problem is matt if u make satty"s interchangeable then you could find that event in future is sold out before the click fest cos everyone else has sattied in

It"s not like a GUKPT field where there are two day 1"s and the field is uncapped. If we had an uncapped field I reckon the satty"s wouldn"t be nearly as popular as probs half the field would just buy in directly (probably saving themselves a lot of money)

I can afford the £75 but was overjoyed to satty in and avoid possible disappointment tomorrow night.

Hope this makes sense as to why some are perturbed that you"ve taken a seat

Right, I"d like to record that "marcelharry" has the option to buy a seat for Walsall as he bubbled the final satellite.

This situation has been brought about by an unforseen circumstance and there will be a rule written to ensure this does not happen again.

The ruling made this evening was in favour of the short stacks, which I felt was more appropriate than putting the seat into the general pool for tomorrow night"s clickfest.

that is unfair ! maybe matt shouldnt been in tourney but at the end of day if he wasnt it wouyld been totally different out come and marcel you would probably not be that deep. you still got a ticket if you want it and to blame matt for you not winning seat is unfair.
with 1 person not playin the whole tourney dynamics would be different.
Matt knows now he made mistake by playin it but he did and tourney panned out cos of every player in it !
You still got ticket if you want which most players will glady swo pwith you .give the ticket to next player if you dont respect this decision
unfair post imo

A little harsh - Matt just played the standard big stack role toward the bubble of a satellite.......  and it"s not really his fault that the rule wasn"t clear when he entered.     You got in anyway and benefitted from the rule change..... and think about this - if matt hadn"t paid his entry for the satellite, there would only be 13 seats and not 14, meaning you would now be in the clickfest lotto.

Matt you ruined the comp for me

You were raisng all the time in the late stages since you already had a seat at walsall

Then the general confusion about the bubble and the spare tickect

They need to bring a rule for people not to enter turneys if they have won a set

See you all at Walsall

Marcel
are see u at the black country thing 1st i think it before walsall

This one is dead and buried folks... we"ve all learned something from it.

+1
although can you say if he took ticket des?

If he doesn"t Steve, I will and will be allocating it to the first of the clickfesters to fail to get a seat this evening.  He has just recently joined the forum so I am going to contact him again after this evening.

Marcel , I noticed that when there were 2 tables left you accused the other table of collusion in the chatbox. Just curious, but what was the outcome of this accusation?

Right, I"d like to record that "marcelharry" has the option to buy a seat for Walsall as he bubbled the final satellite.

This situation has been brought about by an unforseen circumstance and there will be a rule written to ensure this does not happen again.

The ruling made this evening was in favour of the short stacks, which I felt was more appropriate than putting the seat into the general pool for tomorrow night"s clickfest.

Des.

Des

Can I have the seat then please?
