Title: APAT Launches New Website
Post by: APAT on March 29, 2009, 16:59:20 PM
A quick note to let you all know that APAT has just launched a very SEO and media friendly new website.  We will be tweaking the site and adding further content during the week but do tell us what you think.

The new site will serve APAT tournament reports to all of the major newservers worldwide.  We would welcome any volunteer reporters willing to write reports on the Nothern, Central and Southern divisional matches for the season.  Volunteers will be credited on each article published.

Like it.
Audio channel needs a bit of work on, but overall the site is a great improvement (not that the previous one was bad though)

I"m usually slow to lavish praise on anything.

But I REALLY like the new site. Looks slick, clean and professional, so good work to all involved.

I like the look, but wondered if a link to the forum should be more prominent?

More prominent than in the top right hand corner next to a picture of Liv ?

That was blank when I looked before - I did think it was odd that the banner didn"t extend across the whole of the screen.

I"m going for three not mentioned yet;

1) Darren Shallis, home game etc etc

2) Rupinder Bedi, got to be the in form player

3) Paul McGuinness - fresh from not playing for 12 months, got to be up for it ;)

I see APAT are looking to recruit more female players by including a picture of a very handsome man, not too far away from this post, on he main banner...

Re the new site ... technoligically it"s obviously more upmarket and allows for more media diversity, but am finding it a bit harder to navigate. The forum is quite hidden and it took a while to locate the articles I was looking for, as there"s a lot going on, esp on the home page. However, it"s slick and contemporary, with some terrific images, so CONGRATS on the upgrade Des and team.  ;)

still a few teething problems on the forum. The "previous" and "next" options are sometimes blue (as opposed to white) on some of the pages (but not all) and is very difficult to make out.

Layout is very impressive overall
