can anyone recommend anywhere in Edinburgh for July? (preferably cheap and cheerful, with the emphasis on the cheap)
Thanks

Not cheap but best bet is the marriot approx 100 yards from casino. May cost a few quid more but you won"t be spending money on taxi"s unless you intend to head into town to see the errr "sights"...
I am sure Mair will be along soon with more local knowledge.

Current advanced rate for the Marriott appears to be £98.75 for a twin room including breakfast.

This looks like a 21 day advanced booking rate, so don"t leave it until the last minute if this is where you choose.

If you want a B&B within walking distance www.netherbyhouse.co.uk is a small one £28 pn single or www.corstorphinehotels.co.uk/corstorphinegh.html £39 pp for a single
Otherwise the Marriott is a good deal if u want some luxury.
If you need any more suggestions just let me know.

There are some self-catered apartments literally across the road from the Casino. They were something like £99 a night for two double rooms, and also wireless internetz. I"ll dig out a link if anyone"s interested.
You could get a group of people in one of those to save money.
Just a thought.
