Title: APAT European Online Championship
Post by: APAT on June 22, 2009, 14:08:24 PM
APAT are pleased to confirm details of the European Online Poker Championship, taking place at Blue Square from 8pm on August 1st.

The entry fee for the event is $50 + $5, and players entering will start with 10,000 chips and 12 minute blind levels.

The winner of the event will receive a significant cash prize, National Title & Gold Medal and an entry to a £1,000 buy in Grosvenor UK Poker Tour main event.

The top three players will receive APAT National Medals and an option to enter the European Amateur Poker Championship at the G Casino in Luton on November 20th & 21st; where seats will almost certainly be amongst the hardest to acquire in Season Three, where their Online Championship Medals will be presented.

Satellites to the Online Championship event will be available at Blue Square on Monday July 27th and Tuesday 28th at 8pm.  Monday"s satellite will be a $10 + $1 freezeout, while Tuesday"s will be a $5 + $0.50 rebuy.

The previous event in the Online Championship series; the Scottish Online Championship, was won by Alan "bigalhx3" Armitage.

Good luck to all participating players.

think BSQ may have pulled another special...... they have this tourney listed as 10k chips, but with first level as 10/20, and 12 minute blinds.

Not sure about the blinds - thought we usually had longer than 12 mins (the league games are 13!)........ but 10/20 as first level? 500 blinds?  could be in for a long one....

I think this has been the structure for the last few online tourneys. Will take about 6 hours to play out

I thought it started at 25/50 the last couple of times...

The more BBs the better though, at least I might last past the first level this time...  :D

Last one I played started at 25/50. I think the intention was that they would follow the same structure as the live events - looks like this one has the standard iPoker MTT structure.

last one had 500BBs, think it has been that way for a while.

they did this for the welsh one and that got quite crapshooty. the last 2 have been 500BB and played out very well.

Great final table and very well done to ZZZZZ for taking it down.  Grant, can you pm me a link to a poker pic (APAT if you have one) and I will add it to the event report.  Well done also to the other medalists, finalists and ranking points scorers.

Well played ZZZZZZZZROPE, was all about the seat for you and weren"t shy of sticking your chips in when it mattered. WP & GG, and unlucky to Mikey but vwp after your busy day  8)

saw those ZZZZZs at the top of the leaderboard very early on - well played to stay there throughout.

Despite only making it to 49/100, I have to say this tourney with 500xBB and a good structure is fantastic value for $55. I loved it last night - just had crap cards and played them badly.

Congratulations to the Winner zzzzzzzzrope and to the other medalists thoroughly enjoyed the tournament even if i did fill the medal bubble spot. I seem to remember being heads up with you in  the WCOAP main event last year so you certainly deserve this one having lead from early on.

Hope to see you all again at the tables soon.

And best of luck with your Gukpt seat zzzzzz I can assure  you it is a great experience.

Ditto. My worst performance by a mile in any APAT event since season 1 but still enjoyed it. If only there were more tournies available with 500xBB starting stacks.

Is the shout to have more (4 more?) $50+5 events and shorten (16 weeks would be plenty) the $10+1 league?

No! Part of the appeal of these games this season is due to their infrequency. It"s like the live games - fewer of them makes them far more special.
