BUT we can speculate.

I reckon with 240 000 max chips in play, we"ll do well to get to level 16 (if that). So with breaks, should be no later than 11.30 by which time some cracking cash games will be kicking in.

Finish time is of course relative. I may be home in time to watch soccer saturday!

I have consulted my crystal ball and come up with the following predictions...

With max 80 players the Final Table will begin during Level 11 (5.23 hrs);
with 70 players the FT will begin at the start of level 11 (5.04 hrs);
with 60 players the FT will begin close to end of level 10 (4.85 hrs);
with 50 players the FT will begin close to middle of level 10 (4.63 hrs);
with 40 players the FT will begin close to middle of level 10 (4.40 hrs);
with 30 players the FT will begin a bit earlier in level 10 (4.13 hrs).

I would be interested to know if any of these are anywhere near the mark. I"ll probably be home before it gets anywhere near the FT!!

Are these tourneys self-deal or are the casinos supplying dealers?

The casinos will supply dealers.

Can you switch which national you qualify for or is it set in stone?

I think you"ll find that you either take the seat you"ve won or take the £75.

At Bristol Harbourside yesterday, with 61 players, the final table began 90 secs into level 11 (5.02 hrs)... the crystal ball was pretty accurate in this instance. ;)

Anyone else note when their FTs started?

Just played Edinburgh yesterday and walked out casino at just after midnight.
We had 53 players. We had 3 breaks including one of about 45 minutes for a buffet laid on by casino.

Final table of 9 started about 7pm in Luton with 68 runners. (Well started with 52 but with late Regs. we had 68 runners) Just 3 five minute breaks all day. Buffet was just plates of fruit which was eaten while you played.

Just out of curiosty after playing the apat at luton did everywhere allow people to buy in to the tourney for 1 hour after the start as this seemed a bit long to me thought 30 min would have been more like it.just curios thats all.

I  asked and they said people could buy in for 1 hour after the start i think we sat down at 2.30 with 53 and had around 70 runners in the end i was  just wondering if this was right or  not.

On the contrary, the instruction to Casinos was to allow alternates in up to a maximum number of 80 runners for the first two levels, in line with the new gaming act.  APAT will review its position on this prior to the event in Walsall, however prior to this it is sensible that we follow GC guidelines.

Cardiff turned away at least 2 latecomers who just missed the start of the event.

That is a shame, but we will highlight the areas where communication fell down and improve on them for the second leg of the Regionals.  Thanks for the feedback.

Des,

I did mention it in my feedback post for Gala Bristol, but there has been no comment, that Gala still operate the policy that you must be in your seat at the start of the tourney (hence their tournaments tend to start late!).

Will you be taking this up with the Gala management? To at least ensure that these APAT events are run to consistent rules across all venues, even if they don"t want to change their rules for all tourneys.

Sorry, I missed that Alan.  My view is that APAT need to firm our position on this prior to Walsall.  We will communicate that position to both casinos within the tournament pack.  For the first event it was communicated as advice, as opposed to a hard rule.
