Good luck to all playing in this event.  Absolutely gutted as I cannot take part due to a family party.  This will be the first APAT event I have missed, I am really sad and have no friends...

You"ll need some APAT patches to get you through it.  Family party you say?  No wireless broadband connection there?

Raymer"s a far better player, and will be a far better teacher too.  His understanding of the game is fantastic, and he has the ability to put it across well.

Go and win it!

I am going to try and do a form of live update this evening, in advance of the August onlinefest.  I have no idea whether this will work, or be of interest, but the plan is to focus on a "feature table" holding one of the rankings favourites, for 10 to 15 minutes before moving on to another.

Please bear with me, I may abort half way through if the delivery does not feel right!

Tonight"s first feature table....Mark Donnelly (dougal7878).  We will pick up the action in ten to fifteen minutes time after I do the hellos....

Welcome to the first online series live update.  For our first ten to fifteen minutes, we are going to focus on rankings leader dougal7878 - Mark Donnelly,

Mark is on table 7 at the moment, in seat nine.  He is currently sitting with $3610, so has lost some ground early.

Sitting with Mark is:

seat 1 - morrisod
seat 2 - sharky_uk
seat 3 - Clairep75
seat 4 - fizix87
seat 5 - ghc_star
seat 6 - sjuice/me, who is sitting out
seat 7 - Mair38
seat 8 - cw06840

Looking at the leaderboard, it"s great to see Irish Amateur Championship runner up Brendan Hartnett - ericstoner, currently in first position with over 10k chips.

Meanwhile, back on table Donnelly, sharky_uk - gold medalist from two weeks ago, is setting the pace with over 7.5k in chips.  Donnelly sits with 3.5k.
Title: Re: APAT Online Series - European Open
Post by: APAT on June 09, 2007, 20:20:14 PM
Donnelly gets in a pot with morrisod and sharky_uk.  Raising 180 pre flop, he is called by both.  The flop comes down and a 680 raise takes the rankings leader back to 3.9k.

Couple of big hands on table Donnelly.

Donnelly raises to 150 and is called by 4 players!

morrisod bets 300 on a flop of  jh td :2d:, which is called by ghc_star and Donnelly.

Turn  8h

morrisod raises 500, only to be reraised to 1500 by ghc_star.  Donnelly folds.
morrisod calls....

River  9h is checked by both.....

The showdown sees the 4650 pot going to ghc_star with trip 2"s, beating morrisod"s two pair of jacks and eights.....

Post by: APAT on June 09, 2007, 20:34:22 PM
fizix87 takes a pot of 2600 when pushing all in on the flop.  His pocket fives are good enough to take the pot from morrisod.

leading chips on this table.....

ghc-star with 7100.

Mark Donnelly has $4010.

Clairep takes a 2250 pot from TF1976 with a 1000 raise on the turn.  She ad1 ks sits just above her starting stack of 5k.

Next hand she reraises Donnelly by 1000 chips on the turn to take a pot of 2900.

Mark now down to 2.8k.

8300 all in pot.....TF1976"s pocket nines are beaten on the river by the  ad1 kh of sharky_uk.  TF out in 130th.  Sharky up to 11k and moves into contention in the tournament.

lots of rankings interest here...with Eck (James Eccles), Jan C (Charlie Curtis), Kinboshi (Daniel Phillips) and Smac (Alan Lake), all having significant ranking points in addition to Jaques.

smac has just doubled up, taking a pot of over 10k from cc mac, with quad fours verus a Queen high flush....

Top stuff.

Couldn"t play last night but it was excellent to read the updates and find out what went down.

Well done to all players who won medals and reached the final table.

Well done to Des for a great update.
