Mother : Excuse me ... can you recommended me a Horror book for an 8 year old?
I have no kids ... but is that a good question?
At what age does Horror start?
Thoughts?

Seven Dwarves. That Witch in the Disney film, scared me senseless, I reckon I was about 7. And Witches are a recurring theme, what about the one in the Wizard of Oz!
-
The Childcatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Gave me nightmares as a kid.

My daugther read loads of Goosebumps stories when she was that age.

13 unpredictable Tales by Paul Jennings, not so much horror but weirdly strange and funny. Great read for kids.
Also the Horrible histories series are both scary/gory and educational.
Some Roald Dahl, varying levels of darkness.

... weirdly strange and funny sounds good ... serious books get so tedious ...
