Ivar, who has attended several APAT events in the past, finished 10th for a prize of $2,250. Early on the final table Ivar put 14 million chips into the pot with a pair of sixes, and was called by an opponent holding Ace Jack. The Jack on the flop sealed his fate, but nonetheless this was an outstanding and historic achievement by the Norwegian. The tournament winner collected a first prize of $50,000.
This is a video report from the Irish Amateur Poker Championship in 2007, which features an interview with Ivar part way through.

hahaha. I remember this guy. He looks very similar to me and I remember being interviewed in Ireland. One of the questions was..
"so Rob, you"ve come all the way from Norway for this. That is dedication, how are you finding the tourney etc...."
I says "I"ve actually come from manchester, do you want to stop the interview now then?"
It obviously was left on the cutting room floor. Wonder if Des can fish it out?
Well done Ivar on an outstanding performance.

Very well played Ivar, i remember discussing poker being illegal in Norway with him, and the police raiding a home game. They took away the cards, all the chips but forgot to take the cash. Therfore there was no evidence. So trying to get poker experience under these circumstances makes his result n x better.
Hail Ivar :o
Hope to see you again, maybe next year(particularly if euro champs are abroad)?
Cheers Paul
