For anyone thinking of going... the planning can start now!!
"2008 World Series of Poker Set for May 30 through July 17 in Las Vegas" - http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/news/article.asp?newsID=1855

Any idea when they are going to announce the full schedule?
For me the best event is the $5000 short handed just before the main event. Stacked with Pros, good size starting stack (5000 instead of the 1500 I played in last time), great atmosphere being so close to the main event....
I can"t wait.
p.s. If anyone hears of a online qualifier route to this event please let me know.

"Unfortunately" I have week in Vegas booked in May, so I"ll be giving the WSOP a miss this year. Unless I manage to win a seat in the main event, I"m sure my wife won"t mind me going back for 3 weeks if I"ve won it!! ::)
If they do it the same as last year you"ll actually get 2 chips per $ of buy-in, although they knocked the bottom blind level off... The end result is appx the same structure, although it "felt" better.

I played in 2006. you got 1500 chips ($1500 buy in) and the blinds started at 25/25 then 25/50 at level 2.
I do understand the problem you face Rio, I have a non poker playing wife also and I"ve been to Vegas 5 times (twice before we met and 3 times since without her).
Sorry Des, can"t play anymore APAT events, doing housework for the next 8 months :-\

One of my greatest poker weeks, supporting Andy Black to the FT of the 2005 event....the intensity was incredible.....

Where"s the best place for online and live satellites to the WSOP?
Do all satellites tend to be for the main event?

OMG
If I remember correctly that photo was late on in day 1.
The guy sitting to my left at the previous table (James Gorman) had 2 $100 chips left, he then and went on to win over $750,000 and the bracelet.
Is that really you? OMG

Anyone intend playing any non hold em events? I fancy a crack at Razz and pot-limit Omaha and was wondering whether anyone knew if any sites did satellites for these (apart from Full Tilt/Pokerstars)

I"m hoping to win a freeroll into the Razz 8)

Betfair are running events for a seat to next years WSOP 2008

Surely my 7th in the APAT Razz event is enough to get sponsors to let me have a go at the WSOP version? ;D. Now all I need to do is find somewhere to buy myself a cowboy hat................

Does anyone know when the online qualifiers usually begin for this? And which websites do they run on? I"ve only moved from playing live to online in the past year and only play on Pokerstars at the moment... I like it so don"t feel the need to check out the other places although I"ll probably end up checking out Blue Square if that"s only place to get into APAT games.
Also, is it only the main event they run satellites for? I"d quite like to try getting into a couple of the smaller games too...
