Stuart told me he"d had aces 6 times live today and only won 1. That"s pretty sick. And don"t worry him and Clive are still friends.

yeah Clive out in last level of the day gettin in with AJ v 77

Interesting hand late on between Karl Mahrenholz and James Mitchell - 3bet, 4bet all in, call..... James has JJ against Karl"s.........62o!!

Stuart was also knocked out of the £100 side event last night when aipf with AA....... against the mighty 55.

Wierd hand early in the evening - raise, re-raise, call, call.... 3 players to the flop which is 9 hi rainbow..... bet, fold, fold. The two folds were TT and JJ, and the QQ that bet took it down. Feels like an awful way to play TT and JJ in this spot - it looks like both were simply set-mining for a reasonable portion of their stacks. What kind of flop are you hoping for when you call re-raises with TT and JJ.... surely you have to expect to get your chips in when the board comes 9 hi. Of course, the QQ who opened after the flop could have had a monster tell I suppose...

just watched a couple of hands on nutstv. Funny to see the dealers at walsall still doing the flop one card at a time. The flops actually got a river, so frustrating when you watching, even more so when playing. lol.

Nice one poker gods, 2 outer on turn, then 1 outer on river. very cruel of them to put the K on turn.

someone else folded a K - so he actually needed to hit the final two Ks - and got them, then I hit my 1 outer.   Odds for that lot??

Fantastic day - many thanks to APAT and BlueSquare.

A bit surreal at the start to have Jake Cody (EPT Deauville champ) on my left, then Chaz Chatta, and two seats round to Stuart Rutter!!    Breathed a sigh of relief when moved tables, only to find Praz Banzi on my left with a big stack!!

Never put a foot wrong all day - got good value from my top hands, avoided some pitfalls, and fan some huge positional bluffs (including a river all with A hi - other guy folded a flopped set!).

Bit gutted about the way it all came to an end though - was big stack on the table, with only one stack bigger.... raised UTG to 2200 (blinds 400/800/a75) with AK, and matey raised to 6100.  Two hands previously he had made the same move with AQ, and called a shove from AK, only to spike a Q. Figured he wouldn"t be doing that again so soon, and didn"t particularly want to get 70+ big blinds in preflop with A hi - so just called, ready to check/fold if I missed the flop. Flop was KQQ, and I checked with the intention of raising all in...... but he shoved for 30k+ into a 13k pot......  for some strange reason, I snap called! If I"d paused and thought about it, there was hardly anything my AK could beat here - he had frickin AQ again, and I was gone.   Win that hand and I"m chip leader. Fold and I comfortably make day two with a decent stack.

Bloody good day though. Helluva format with 15k chips and 1 hour blinds.

John, can I take that Final Table now mate ??!!
After fighting a war of attrition for the whole day, it feels quite satisfying to be on 31k going into Day 2. I REALLY hope that I am not around top defend my Welsh Online title tonight at 8pm and I am sure that Alan Armitage and Steve Redfern feel the same way :)
Having bubbled the Laddies Poker Cruise last Monday night, maybe I am due some luck ?
Good Luck to Andy and Marcel too.

Just to echo what Tony said above. A million thanks to APAT & Blue Square for the chance to play such a great tournament. If ida made day 3 I was planning to wear the APAT team shirt. Never mind not to be this time but has given me the taste for it so I will be doing my best to get back again.

Praz Bansi with AK and Stephen Pearce KT making a re-move on the SB pre, but an ACE on the flop and Stephen heads out.

Stephen had just doubled up Marcel Furet on a flop of Q47, Marcel with 88's and Stephen calling the extra 11k with K4.  Marcel up to 40k.

Brian is out

He raises pf and gets called by BB. Holding A7 on A67 board Brian calls the BB shove who tables K6 with a flush draw. Turn K river K sends Brian to the rail. Gutted for you mate. Sick beat after 12 hours of poker.

By my reckoning, based on a £2050 cash.

Name     Points
% Payout
Payout

Marcel Furet (marcelharry)     Seat
80%
£1640
Marc Ward (MOPHEAD)     17
4.1%
£83.98
Brian Yates (BOINGBLITZ)     13
3.1%
£64.22
Darren Hooper (bigwba1)     12
2.9%
£59.28
Susan Tarpy (TARPARELLA)     12
2.9%
£59.28
James Edwards (xThinkerJEx)     12
2.9%
£59.28
Will Young (wyoung83)     9
2.2%
£44.46
Paul Halling (PALOSHA)     5
1.2%
£24.70
Richard Davis (ramjamrich)     3
0.7%
£14.82

This is subject to confirmation and roundings, etc etc etc.

Andy Duncan, Paul Foy, and Tony Stripper don"t get a bit of Marcel? Seems a bit harsh.

Them"s the rules.  Those that got a seat didn"t get a share in each other (unless they arranged something between themselves)

Shared a table with Tom MacDonald for most of Saturday - never heard of him before, but he was a different class to most of the table, and even owned Praz when he arrived.

Just checked him out on Hendon Mob - decent return in 2009 with two biggish wins, and he"s only 19!  ffs MBN!

He"s chip leader at the FT now - kinda hope he goes on to win it.

Marcel refused to do any split. Me, Tony and Paul gave 5% (zero!) to each of the other 2. Canny guy that Marcel!

Marcel did great, rode his luck a couple of times, but hats off to the man for cashing in a top event.

Thank you all. The support on my final day was great. Some of the BCPC mates were watching on nuts tv and kept me going. Great to have the chance to play in a big event. That is over £5k I have now won at these tournaments. Will now try to qualify for Coventry. Marcel
