aberdeen is easy from anywhere in the UK direct flights to most places in england, some smaller planes are used which are wheelchair accessable from certain destinations. wales might need you to travel to bristol first.
if you let me know where you are coming from i will let you know the best way to come
flybe, easternairways, and easy jet cover most of the major routes and ryanair covers dublin
lets see if i can get to vienna with my bag this time.
spain = women in bikini"s wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
estonia means connecting in copenhagen and a few danish ladies
this years tour is getting a 9/10 mark for me
if only coventry wasnt in europe

anyone coming north for aberdeen leg looking for a hotel room the new jurys inn is £49 for a room friday and saturday and £85 for the sunday
its about 250 yards from casino
duke and i have booked up already we can cancel if we dont get a seat
-
I am coming up but already booked the central travellodge. For anyone interested flights from Luton going out Saturday coming back Monday set me back £60 which was reasonable I thought.

LMAO you obviously didnt read colchester kevs trip report to aberdeen on blonde when he came up for the GUKPT last summer
if you havent paid for the room yet i would try and cancel and get into the doorway of the local shopping centre its much better quailty than the travellodge

We have booked the Douglas. It"s around the corner from the Casino and we have paid 140 pounds for two nights including breakfast.

Lol. What swung it, Ger, was the fact that the Jury"s was full. That and the fact that breaky wasn"t included - got to keep in shape :D
Edit: Amanda tells me the Jurys only shows as full if you try booking via lateroomsdotcom...

I"ve booked the Premier Inn for the Aberdeen leg, if anyone"s interested. Only £108 for two nights including breakfast. Trip Advisor seems to think it"s OK - nothing special but cheap (clearly). It"s quite close too (although the Douglas and Jury"s Inn are closer).
Flights - £110 return on Flybe from Gatwick. I"m flying Saturday morning, so I hope Flybe don"t cock-up. England playing in the World Cup the night before, by the way.
-
Just booked into the Douglas in Aberdeen - £140 for 2 nghts B&B with an evening meal on one of the nights.

How far is the casino from the hotel? Is it best to just get a taxi or is there a shuttle into town?
Trying to work out the latest time I can fly, im not a morning person LOL
BTW dont bother looking for flights from Bristol, they are VERY expensive. Heathrow with BA or easyjet from Luton are around £60 each way.
-
Flights from Heathrow booked ..get in at 13.15 which is cutting it fine I know but I am happy to blind off rather than get there earlier.
Premier Inn booked for saturday/sunday (with breakfast) @ £96 through booking.com
Looks like i am going to Aberdeen :-)
Looking forward to a hug and a singsong with Ironside xxx
-
FML I thought Heathrow was a lot closer than it actually is. This is going to be a major headache :-(

Airport website suggests 15 minutes in normal traffic into Aberdeen City Centre.
Aberdeen Airport (http://www.aberdeenairport.com/portal/page/Aberdeen%5EGeneral%5EAirport+information%5EAround+Aberdeen%5ETravel+into+Aberdeen/aaa2f9da8000d110VgnVCM10000036821c0a____/448c6a4c7f1b0010VgnVCM200000357e120a____/)

Anybody on 130 arrival from Luton or elsewhere that arrive around that time please pm me if you want to cab share to casino. Cheers Don

Where you going from, Bristol prices are ridic considering the poot selection of flights. Birmingham looks like a better option if you are going from Bristol and the surronding area. Easier to drive too that Heathrow as well.

the airport is about 10-30 minutes from casino (maybe longer during the daytime)
there is a good bus service with the bus station just round the corner from casino
train would be a good option is there is a service as the train station is next to the jurys inn
which is 250 yards from the international casino

Not sure what to do now :-(
Total costs with trains/planes/hotels/babysitters/taxis/takeaway for kids/buyin (plus donating to sats as I never win them) works out about £500 which I dont mind if I know I have a game I can play on the Sunday if i get knocked out of ME as flight back is booked for the Monday. I wouldnt want to donate to the £250 so the thought of hanging around all day Sunday and worst still stranded there because of some bloody volcano has scared me off a bit.

Awww Suzanne would love for you to come up, and as John has said STTs are an option which will be good, also think positive, you WILL be in day 2 as you are a cracking player and its your turn to take one down.
Hope you do come xx

does "dealer dealt" mean button deals or there is an dealer? what are the blinds and are there limits on games that can be played?
do any other cash games run reguarly/will any run during this weekend, looking for games around the £100 buyin range.
this is my first APAT, anything i need to know? thanks in advance

Dealers Choice: Casino provides the Dealer, dealer button calls the game.
Usual games include Omaha, Super Stud, Irish, sometimes with a double flop.
The weekend of the APAT the casino will be "Dealer Rich", so Cash Games and Sit n Goes will be available.
Basically it boils down to customer demand what we run. If enough people want a £30 PLO sit/go we will run one.

Due to the above, we have decided not to do Aberdeen. Have sadly canceled our hotel today.

Anyone on the Flybe 2.30 flight from Birmingham to Aberdeen wanna share a taxi from the airport into Aberdeen?
-
Off to my sisters for a cup of coffe then the airport - then Aberdeen................................
-
Just enjoying a nice beer as we pull out of Edinburgh.
ETA Aberdeen.....17.37
-
I should mention that the trip up to the "land of the sporran" has been lovely.
Sun"s shining, countryside is very picturesque...shame I forgot my camera. Seat is comfy enough...and I even fit in it!
No seatbelt...and beer while someone else does the driving.
Wifi has had some occasional flaky patches but I have 3G backup just in case.
It"s been years since I travelled long distance by the choo-choo....Season 1 Aspers Newcastle if I recall correctly. Things are looking up.
-
Hi Paul,
Enjoy the rest of your journey, see you tomorrow and look forward to a beer or two over the weekend. :D
