Title: APAT'ers @ WSOP
Post by: SirPercival on May 27, 2010, 17:53:38 PM
As the WSOP is about to start I thought it might be a good idea if we had a list of APAT"ers playing in this years events.

I"ll start the list off as I am playing Event #54.

I"m there 14th - 23rd June... playing Event #30, $1500 NLHE (Jun 16) and depending on results possibly event #36, $1000 NLHE (Jun 19/20).

I"ll also be playing one or more tournaments from the deepstack series" at Binions, Golden Nugget, Venetian and Ceasars.

Nice to see the Binions 2am is back on the schedule!  ::)

Flying out Saturday. Thinking of playing loads of the $330 events at Ceasar"s rather than one $1500 WSOP event. 15,000 stack and 50 min blinds. Great stuff!

Cash at the MGM too. Lots of tourists.

A party of us will be over there between 11th - 19th, not sure what games I will be playing yet

Will be checking out this page if anybody has any recommendations on which games to play.

I may play a wsop event this weekend (either the $1k or $1.5k), although the Venetian deepstack starts tomorrow and Caesars has been lucky so far this week...

Hi there - I will be playing this event too!  Altho I think they are expecting about 4000 runners so we probably won"t be at same table.  I"m staying at Palazzo (part of Venetian).  Drop me a line if you fancy meeting up for a drink.

See above - I decided to play the $1000 event after all. Just got back from the Rio (it"s 1.45am here) after just failing to make the end of Day 2. Came 73rd out of 4345 for $5600.

The last hand was a bit annoying. I have AQ in the SB, and am on about 7 Ms, so enough to make the inevitable raiser fold. The raise duely happens from the cut-off, but then the loose player on the button reaises. I know I"m ahead of him, so push. The cut-off folds and the button calls after much thought. He has a price though, so fair enough, and he has Jc-6c. The flop is horrible - it gives him a straight draw AND a flush draw. The turn hits his 6, then the river gives me my queen, but it"s the queen of clubs! Of course, if the cut-off hadn"t have raised, the loose player"s raise would have been smaller and he would have folded. All very annoying! That pot would have put me in the top 20 out of the 73.

Will now use the profits to play the $1500 event that starts on Wednesday.

1st prize was $600,000 and 9th was about $60,000. So close...

Title: Brits doing nicely at WSOP!!
Post by: AMRN on June 03, 2010, 13:45:57 PM
Congratz to Praz on his second bracelet!!

From Blonde....

Quote

British player and HitSquad member Praz Bansi has won his second WSOP Bracelet by winning Event #5 the $1,5000 NLHE for $515,501 ahead of 2091 other runners, following his first bracelet win in 2006.

Many congratulations to him. Praz had two thirds of the chips three handed and then took on Vincent Jacques of Canada heads up after Jacques had knocked out Calvin Kordus in third

After  Jacques had hit runner runner flush to double up in the heads up battle Banzi eventually prevailed with A-J versus A-8 and a Q-Q-J flop.

Full final table result:

1 Praz Bansi $515,501London United Kingdom
2 Vincent Jacques $320,913 Quebec Canada
3 Calvin Kordus $223,069 Anchorage United States
4 David Tuthill $160,650 St Petersburg United States
5 Tomer Berda $117,416 Menlo Park United States
6 Donald Offord $86,858 Broomfield United States
7 Hugh Bell $65,097 Puerto Plata dominican Republic
8 David Sands $67,221 Las Vegas United States
9 Kyle Knecht $37,943 Westchester United States

In more good WSOP news for the Brits Stuart Rutter and Neil Channing tonight contest the final of Event #6 the $5,000 NLH Shooutout. Good luck to both of them

Also three Brits, Neil Channing, Stu Rutter and Nicholas Levi, out of six at the FT of the $5k NLH Shootout.

Edit: Maybe it"s just two brits!! It seems the WSOP officials believe Paris is in the UK!  ::)

Post by: LongshanksED on June 04, 2010, 03:36:11 AM
Rutter finished 3rd and channing finished 2nd

going by wsop updates the winner took out everyone from 4th place onwards. Channing was short most of the table but other being overly aggressive let him squeek up the ladder but at heads up the American (can"t remember his name) had a 7/1 chip lead over neil

Am going from 26th June til 10th July now. Playing event 54, and I might squeeze to a $1500 aswell, but will most likely find some PLO8 or HORSE at the Golden Nugget or Binions along with a couple of Caesars deepstacks.

I"ll start the list off as I am playing Event #54.

Praying to Sat into this one.  Started off with the $3 on PKR yesterday, won a seat to the $18 then to the $66 and then to the final $360 sat on Sunday.  Very small fields so will just do my best and we"ll see what happens!

The American"s probably saw England v Germany, and thought it was a couple of EPL teams. I had to explain to one of them that Chile was a country and not something he had in his burger.

Not that I"m in any way sceptical of an American"s knowledge of anything non-American.
