Title: $2,500,000 GRAND SERIES OF POKER (GSOP) on Betfair Poker

$2,500,000 GRAND SERIES OF POKER (GSOP) - BETFAIR IS GIVING AWAY $65,000 WORTH OF FREE GSOP EVENT TICKETS!

Every night at 19:00 BST between the 19th of September and the 3rd of October there is an interesting GSOP Event starting, each with a different buy-in, game type and guaranteed prize pool.

Qualifiers to the different GSOP Events are running so there are plenty of chances for you to qualify. You can find all Qualifiers in the poker client under the "Scheduled Tournaments" tab.

On top of the high guaranteed prize pools, all of the 15 GSOP Events hand out a Grand Slam ticket to the winner and also award points towards a leaderboard where the winner of the leaderboard gets a Gram Slam ticket.

The Grand Slam Final will take place on Sunday the 10th of October, the weekend after the last GSOP Event. The Grand Slam Final will be an attractive high buy-in tournament where the GSOP Event winners, the qualifiers, the leaderboard winners and players buying in directly will all meet for a Grand Slam tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of $300,000.

Qualifed for the $65000, GSOP ticket qualifier (0.01 buy in 124 players top 10 win) Took me about 6 attempts  ::))

And tonight just picked up a $50+$4 ticket - ($8 buy in 70 players top 9 win)  So I"ll play in event 15 in the mini series.  :)

iv also won 2 tickets first 1 is 200 gsop event 1 or event 8 and second 1 is 525 event 15  ill have 2 by a fishing rod 2 catch all the fish .........mabe just mabe some day ill mike a day 2 in the APAT ;) ;) and heres one for all the ladys in the APAT :-* :-* :-* :-*

Did you get in? Its a crazy game isnt it? After trying a few I decided that sitting out for 15 mins was the best option.. and then getting lucky as hell  :P

Well Richard and I have both won tickets for the $65,000 event. Richard already entered with his tournament ticket and when I won last night you can guess the problem we have......

we are from the same network and it won"t let me enter the same event with the ticket grrrr.....  have emailed Betfair customer services and hoping (fingers crossed) for a speedy reply. I think Betfair are shooting themselves in the foot with the same network problem - lots of households have two, or more, poker players using their home network, its not like we are using the same computer. All the good will for Betfair holding this event... starts to get tarnished when you then have problems trying to enter the event you qualified for  :( .

Yep it"s pants. The big networks do something similar for sit n goes but not for MTT"s. Come on Betfair sort it out. Of course they may not have a choice if it"s an Ongame policy. And it will be viewed as a minor problem of course. Still you can always sit back and relish all that added value, whilst not playing poker.

Furness is now 7/100, so guaranteed a $200 GSOP Event 8 seat, but a $5k GSOP Grand Slam Final seat would be nice for a top 5 finish.

Just won a $525 ticket to event 15 ... 8 runners ... I put in $80+2 from a total of $320+16 ... value shot ... in control from about 5 runners out ...

Went pretty close in Pokerstars qualifier earlier to the WCOOP 38 ($500+30) - lost AK vs 67 to go above average - with 37 left for 12 seats ... for $30.50 ...

What next!?!

He played very very well, just got unlucky against a few players who really weren"t sure what they were doing.  Especially when you saw the cards they were playing.

It will run tonight (Thursday 23rd September 2010) during the GSOP Mini Event 5 $5+$0.5, Short Handed NLHE Rebuy (Gtd $10k).

The prize will be a Betfair Goody Bag


The tourney starts at 7pm, and all you have to do to be in with a chance of winning the prize is post your Betfair Poker id on this thread before the tournament starts and get registered.

Whoever is the last player to get knocked out of the tournament out of the list on this thread, gets the prize.

For some reason Betfair spent the entire first hour telling me I did not have enough cash in my account to rebuy. I do but it was not letting me rebuy. It also will not let me sit at any cash tables or buy into any other tournaments or sit a cash tables. My Betfair account is a pain at the moment any ideas anybody or do I need to call their support line again?

I have checked and definitely have no loss limits on the account or anything?

There is a very odd thing happening and I am not sure I agree with what it does...

It is a 6 Max torunament.  We start with players in seats....  1, 2... 4, 5.... 8, 9...

Seat 5 goes out of the tournament..  and he is replaced by another player...  in seat 10...!!!

That cant be right can it?

9.3k vs 13.6k Average ... about the worst I have played a level for some time ...

My new table had some really bargain chips on offer but my over aggression and patience to steal them was misplaced ... others took the honey and the table broken before AQs vs 55 saver ... and back with very playable stack.

KJ vs AT ... 120 paid ... being crippled with KK particularly gauling as when short I managed to lose only half my stack with KT vs AT in T high board ... quickly doubled up vs JJ vs QT (same guy) ... I then doubled with QQ vs K8 into a ten high board vs Mr Crazy ... but all the chips went back his way with three shocking calls ... his 51k chips then lasted about 10 mins!

Also, logged into BSQ to see if I had any legacy APAT funds there... and found $100 :)  The $25k deepstack starts at 8:45 and has a buy in of $109.... so played a $22 STT to try and accrue enough to cover the buy in... and won the STT. So - the iPoker $25k feels like it"s meant to be.....................................

tough one - the decision has to be made preflop..... once you get as far as the flop, it"s gonna be a tough fold.   When you call the extra 6k preflop, you"re cooked..... however if you 4-bet here (doesn"t need to be much more than min raise) you can see his reaction.... if he 5-bet shoves, you can probably get away from JJ.

As played, you simply have to stack off on that flop with JJ.... otherwise, what sort of flop were you hoping for when you called pre.

not really - if he"s putting you on a flush, then given the preflop action, you can only really have AK/Q hearts, and that"s such a narrow range.  Your shove looks like an overpair with a heart - it"s fairly unlikely that you"ve hit a set on that board (given the preflop action)..... so, call with AA needing to fade a heart is pretty reasonable.

Apart from that, this is a $22 tourney and he has AA.... nuff said.
