Title: APAT UK Championship Direct Buy-In
Post by: lil_buddha on November 13, 2007, 09:50:00 AM
Hello all,

I"m afraid I"m new to this APAT lark and came on the site this morning to try and register for the UK Championships via direct buy-in. However, I cannot find a link that enables me to purchase a seat anywhere on the site. Am I missing something or has the event already sold out?

Apologies for starting such a mundane thread!

Is it a simple case of who ever clicks the link first gets a chance of a buy in.
Tried the online qualifier 2 nights in a row and muffed to death both nights. So looks like direct buy in for me.

Seats all gone and the event was taken off sale within a minute.  Some members remained within the payment server to complete their transaction but nothing fell over, which is good.

So do you get allocated the seat when you enter you name on the APAT site? or when you have completed the metacharge form and clicked submit?

I guess what I am saying is all the frantic typing needed or could we enter our details at our own pace, safe in the knowledge the seat is booked?

G Casino Bury New Road
2 Ramsgate Street
Manchester
M8 9SG

For those about to book accommodation, the hotels near the casino and surrounding areas are heavily booked or already fully booked so I would recommend booking as early as possible.

If anyone would like a list of hotels that I have that may still have availability please PM and I will send you it.

Look forward to meeting you in Manchester.

You will have to forgive the lack of apostrophe but bear in mind it was 7:15am, i don"t punctuate correctly till after breakfast.

Un-decided on the white or black jump suit at this point...could maybe have a vote to decide for me..

Bit nearer than Walsall for me - and hopefully won"t get stuck in any motorway madness (Bolton to Walsall took 4 hours!)

Look forward to seeing everyone there

Just a pointer for the clickfest (and I guess other situations) with regards to the additional card security that comes up.

It"s not mandatory.  You can click the "cancel" button, and you can skip it completely.  It"s meant to make using your card online more secure, but I think it"s just another place where your details are stored and therefore an increased risk that they can be "discovered".

I can only speak about Mastercard SecureCode, which has now been extended to my Maestro card for some reason. You can only "dodge" this extra level of security 3 times before it becomes mandatory.

I knew it would ask me for it last night so I intentionally used the card where I know my additional password  ;D ;D and seen as I was using my old laptop with a mobile phone WAP connection I was pretty sure I didn"t have the time to be setting up a password.

I got in, good luck to all in Manchester and remember, its not your connection size that matters, its how you use it!!
