Title: fold top two?
Post by: treydj on September 20, 2010, 23:18:49 PM
Heres an interesting hand - any thoughts?

Treat all players as bad!! 5/10 Rush - enough said.

I flopped top two -I didnt raise pre as I was oop and it just creates a bigger pot on these tables as they aint folding unless you raise a stupid amount.

What do you put these guys on.- As soon as I raised it all went off! - I bottled it and folded

Thoughts on my play and what you think the others had please!!

Thanks

Jas

K=10,  + flush draw, bottom pr?? possible trips or even gutshots. anything possible really here. Perhaps they didn"t put you on an ace with not raising pre? it is 5/10 rush? yes?

Go on put us out of our misery Jas :D

Fold is ok but given the reads, its 2 pair, Ax or even FD or 1pair GSSD combos more often than TK or a set....I think...so I call

given it is 5c/10c with 3 players all in with trey holding the top 2, i can"t possibly see all 3 herberts doing this with just combos we beat Rob , heads up auto call , 2 all ins depending on reads yep marginal ish call , 3 of them even giving em fairly wide ranges and we still struggle to get even near 28%+ equity versus them to break even long term calling..

ps - wtf u doing up at this time.. lol lol

at .25/.50 this would be a fold for me..... at.05/.10, not so sure...  I tend to become a calling station at these stakes and would rarely fold top two, particularly in a rush game.

Without PokerStove to hand, I wonder how top two bears up against ranges that include all the made flushes and straights, flush draws, straight draws, sets, two pairs, one pairs, etc (assuming all three oppos actually have something).

Its only 1 allin when Jas folded (not 3) so there is a chance you are playing this HU.

I"m not saying I"m right here, its just what I"d do.

U can pretty much add all Ax hands to tht.  People do not fold at tht level.  Also AA, QQ + JJ get 3bet the vast majority of the time.  All flush draws also get it in on the flop.

Edit: there has also only been one all in wen it gets to us.

Ace hearts out so what at worst do u put the villains on? king heart yes but then after we start to get unrealistic ranges imho for all 3 players to have complete air that we beat , all this without any reads!! we hold a ace blocker , a queen blocker and 3 opponents all in with??, trey is getting approx 2.5 to 1 ..
Also marty at this level i have seen some odd lines taken with big pairs :), again no reads 3 opponents willing to stick it all in so its hard to discount AA QQ JJ especially utg raiser and the utg1 flat call imho , meh i cant see how to expect this to be profitable or break even long term..

U think the average NL10 player is folding any Ax hand on this board?
U think the average NL10 player is folding any XXhh hand?

I have a feeling u will say no and then we will go back and forth 100 times me saying "they will," you saying "they won"t."  The average NL10 player doesnt think, ok I will fold my 78hh incase my draw is dominated...they think weeeeeeeeeeeeeee upcoming binkage.  There are surely good players at this level who will play better, but as u say, this is readless...

Anyway, They will.

at this level I"m probably calling. I"m also reraising preflop from the SB here to 0.8ish give or take. The fact they dont fold is good, means your getting more value from them

good debate guys - thanks for the feedback

agreed at this level i;m not sure i made the right decision. Just use it as a variance buster!!

the first guy fliped KTos for the made straight
the second guy turned over Kh Xh for the nut flush draw
and the third was all in with xh xh for a baby flush draw.

it turned out to be a 360 odd blind pot - and if I am honest after all the action I put one on the Flush draw and one on possible set.

I knew I had outs and the stakes were low, but you gotta know when to fold em right?

Thanks again chaps
