Many congratulations to Debs who was victorious tonight, I thought our HU battle was going to last forever.
If you are going to Luton, watch out for this lady...! Not only does she have all the moves, but she also has a wonderful sense of fair play - with a 3:1 chip lead I suddenly suffered the dreaded disconnection. After frantic efforts to reconnect she was waiting patiently, not having harvested a single chip.
VWP ;)

Fair play indeed. Nice to see, and congrats on the win Debs.

Well done last night Debs.
I really enjoy this game on a Monday Night, good craic, relaxed atmosphere, etc.
However, there is always one player who never fails to "p1ss on the camp fire", when he loses a hand.
I know I am relatively inexperienced compared to this player, and no doubt he could teach me a thing or two about poker, but he could never tutor me in good manners.
I played out the following hand, in which prior to calling on the river, he commented "77 ? so obvious" and proceeded to call my river bet. I commented after, that if it was so obvious, "why call then ?". His reply was "cos ur a donk"
Can anyone tell me if i was indeed playing this hand without any strategy or am I indeed a "donk";

I really look forward to playing more experienced players in these "Friendly Games" as part of my learning curve. So I would appreciate some comments on how I played this hand, either well, or as a "donk"
-
Played it fine IMO, probs would have raised Pre, but as it turned out with TT behind and raising, he"s done your betting for you and disguised your hand to some extent.
NH well played.
I don"t think TT ever means any of his verbals, just best to laugh and get on with it, not always easy I know. APAT has a few members who are more vocal than most, and I have had run ins with some in the past ( never with TT) but at the end of the day its best just not to get involved and turn off the chatbox.
The Furness game is good experience, a nice slow structure for not much money, and some good players playing it. Great fun, I lasted about 3 hands last night when with top two pair I shoved, oh well!
-
It all seems reasonably standard, the hand pretty much played itself. The blinds are relatively low, maybe a PFR as Mike suggests but other than that neither player did anything wrong here for me.
As an aside, how did you enable Hand History ?

Great game people and congrats to Debs on winning, don"t forget to pm me your address again so I can send you the bounty as Col was too late to reg.

I would have played the hand exactly the same with the 88. Maybe raise pre, but then when he re pops what do you do? i say you played it fine.
I enjoed this muchly, will be playing again next monday, seemed a lot of play and everyone was friendly.
Except laxie. And her runner runner 6. :P

That was sooooo ugly. Honestly thought you were just at it because I"d been folding so well up to then. Figured I"d make a re-steal move on ya as the wine was finally kicking in. lol The turn and river decided otherwise. When our cards were flipped I was heard saying, "Ah well...I"m out." By the river it was, "Oh damnnnnnn! Do we have another bottle of wine in the house?"

Hi Ian
Go to My Computer, Folders, Search Box, Betfair
Thanks Ian, I have the HH folder in there but it"s empty. HH worked fine with the previous software, just need to know which buttons to press to make it work with the BF2 software... ???

usually suspecting me of being at it is a fair assumption, and in your position i would have genuinely done the same thing :)

Thanks for the kind words Ian. Not sure about having all the moves though lol. You are definitely over-estimating my game and this will be proved at Luton when I bow out early on no doubt. My first live game for almost 2 years so well out of practise ;D

So true, used to have Betfair Poker Buddy before the site changed. Cheers for the info Healer!
btw, think you played the hand well as people stated above. No idea why TT slow played the king and checked the flop, but that"s what got him into trouble in the first place. After his pre-flop raise may have been difficult for you to call a 2/3 or 3/4 bet on that flop, even with just 1 over.

You"ll have ball... and don"t forget to smile when Leigh or Des come round taking photos during Level 1 ;)
Oh... and don"t be late next Monday, everyone will be after your scalp ! ;D ;D
