Title: Poker & Tourism
Post by: CincinnatiKid on December 02, 2010, 19:06:03 PM
Hi members of the Luton Team and all fellow travellers !  ;)

Had an idea which I told some of the APAT"ler during Coventry and I"ve got a nice feedback. What do the Luton players and all their interest friends expect about a combined Poker & Tourism Tour to Germany next Spring / Summer with partner?

Please don"t misunderstand me, nobody have to act under duress ! No quorum !

Travel time: Weekend Friday - Sunday (date to discuss) to Cologne/Rhineland

Schedule:

Friday:

Arrival and checkin Hotel, latest 16:00
18:30 dinner together (preference to discuss)
afterward a cosy evening in a typical brewery / irish pub / other location (to discuss)

Saturday:

Free time, use for a walk, shopping (german biggest shopping mile), sightseeing, Rhine boat trip, zoo, museum, etc.
15:30 transfer to casino (60 miles/ max 1 hour)
16:30 Registration and personal impression
17:00 Start friendly game (min requirement to discuss with casino, expect X + 10% fee and Structure - no DeepStack ! - , hope for a package incl. a dinner) if we need players to invitate some good friends of me!?! (to discuss)
after finishing we stay at casino. Gamblers are able to gamble and all other to take some drinks and have fun.
Transfer back to Cologne and hotel (latest til 4:00, time to discuss)

Sunday:

10:30 get-together and who wish a morning pint and individual leave taking

Flights are possible and really cheap to Cologne Airport from

East Midlands - bmi
London Stansded- tuifly/germanwings
Manchester - tuifly/germanwings
London-Gatwick- EasyJet
London-Heathrow- Lufthansa (need a special offer !)

Alternatives are: Airport Dortmund (EasyJet) and Duesseldorf (AirBerlin), but 60 / 100 km Transfer to Cologne !

My special wish is to provide the partners an opportunity to a single pokergame. So hopefully everybody is happy and no partner missed a personal amusement after this weekend !

What"s your opinion about this idea ? ::)

Cheers

Achim

Achim,

It was a pleasure to spend time with you over the weekend and I am sure if I can convince the good lady, it will be an equally pleasureable experience in Cologne.

See you soon

Want to pick up this thread. Anybody interested to concretise this idea ? Today it"s Febr. 1st and in this case we need a bit time for plannings. It would be no problem to have just a few "sightseers", because it"s not necessary to have fun .  ;)

After APAT announce the new schedule it"s possible to contain a date.
