who planning on playing this tonight, lets see if we can have a 2nd apat player take this down
http://www.pokerstars.com/sites/sm5/
-
Loads of satellites and there is an $11 turbo guaranteeing 1000 seats running about 1hr before the million starts
-
expect 30k+ runners - can"t see this finishing much before 4pm tomorrow.... got meetings in the morning :( Don"t like Lambos anyway.

it starts at 16.30 and the blinds will make sure its over its over way b4 4pm regardless of how many runners it gets
-
Don"t like Lambos anyway.
When you get to final 4 you can do a chop and sell the lambo to someone else
-
If 30000 runners
300m chips in play.
Final table - Average c33m chips - say 20 BB average - Level 42 is 700k/1400k (140k) - 15 mins levels.
So final table after about 11.5 hours??
Finish at 11am UK??
(I have a meeting in Edinburgh at 11am!)
Take it Down.

-
I"m in. Hoping for a long night!!!

Not decided yet - but probably.
Hoping I have to throw a sickie.

This, and start looking towards 40k runners at least I reckon
-
if you look at the link at the top of the page it starts in 3hr 38 mins
-
but on the site its 21.30 so that will be right i think sigh
-
The sunday mill usually finishes around 8.30 am GMT, so with 4 x the ammount of runners it surley is gonna be still going at lunch time at least i would of though.
On the stars blog it says that when it is over, the winner will be asked if he wants the Lambo, if he doesnt then it will go to second place. Who the hell is going to turn down the car??
-
It starts at 9.30pm UK time.
Louis - you reckon 11am (UK) finish..... I"ll take overs.
-
normally finishes at about 11am, so I reckon this will be well into the afternoon.

Yeah fair enough - maybe a little light in my estimate of how long the final table might last ...
Might be some protracted chop discussions too ...

Ive sattied in so um guna bed 4 an hour or 3 then im guna pwn it!!!!
-
25k runners and already passed the Gtd with almost 2 hrs untill it starts, and obv there will be late reg.
-
double espresso done. Just started the $55 300k. Gna play a few things but not many. Red bull in fridge. Hoping for a long night...
-
Just fired up my 1st mtts of the night (300fpp fr on poker.co.uk n $10 early antes $10kGTD on FT)
GL all
-
I sure can connect to Stars tonight :~(
-
15 mins til it starts - 37000 registered. With 60 mins late regs, this will top 40k runners!!
I"ll go for 5pm finish
-
It"s 120 mins late reg. Will top 50k and $10m prizepool I"d say.
-
yep - suspect will be way over 50k
more than 700 out after 15 mins lol
-
Sigh, 17 hands in and already seen KK and AA. Really don"t want them at this time.
Statistically I will now have to wait another 204 hands to see them again ;)
Up to 12k though early, it"s a nice buffer I suppose.
-
message on stars table
sunday mill current prizepool is $10m
double the guarantee :o
reg open until 11.30 - currently playing $11 quarter mill so should i go deep (900 out of 16k and 5.4k paid) i might be able to buy in at last minute
maybe
max runners is 65000 and currently at 51000 runners
-
It"s completely mad ... you have to love it ... once they get to 60001 runners they pay 8750 ... at the moment 7450th gets 0.003% of the fund!
Mental note to play it next year!
Any deal on the final table must leave the Lamborghini for the winner ...
L
-
There is 50672 runner turbo sat running that is going to dump another 2356 runners into the main event ... GENIUS!
The average player has 3 BBs ... LOL ...
-
yeah i played the $11 turbo sat
was oput early 1k starting stack and rise every 3 or 5 mins - got AK decimated when i open shoved 20BB and got cold called the button with 7-2
love it not
-
11.4 million prizepool :o
-
12,250 at break. slow and steady wins the race...
-
On 11.6K @ break. Up n down a bit lost 2xflips with KQ vs shorties on 1010.
-
Nice one Marty :D Richard has 21,700. I have 5,800 :/
-
My table has been pretty solid, up to 14k just playing premiums.
Not too long before the crapshooting will start though - time to take advantage soon! :)
-
glk lads
-
make it 2 out of 2 gareth
-
FFS, AA into QQ for 23k pot, he flops the Q and turns the boat (I had a heart draw on the flop).
Down to 4k :(
-
1st prize is 1.6m and a lambo!!
-
21,910
-
Back up to 18k at the next break. TT v 99 all in pre. If I win the previous bad beat hand I take all of this guy"s chips too. Without Aces getting cracked I"d be on about 45k. FML.
3-bet shove mode atm! Gl everyone else, still 27k players left.
-
Busto. Gl to the two fish I swapped pieces with! :D
-
On 18K @ break. Been card dead since moved table. Was on 20K after flopped top set n got shoved on !!!
-
83k at next break. Was up to 90-something, but lost a 36k race with AQ v 88.
-
46576
-
Up n down a bit but on 54K now. I also have % in Dan Carter he"s on 118K!!!
-
Sucked out in a massive pot, JJ v KK v AQs. Bink a J on the river in a 140k pot. Now on 174k. Makes up for earlier.
-
63269
-
Im busto shoving 13BB with
8s ts
into
kc kd
SB v BB
GL to all left in!!!!
-
Come on!
Shortie UTG calls all in for less than a BB. I raise to 2.5xBB with AK, 2nd chippie on the table ships for 112k, I snap, he shows 55. UTG shows AJ.
Two Kings and I"m on 324k, currently 30th.
My "One Time" is in force poker gods...

Bah, lost 200k pot with QQ v AK. Would"ve put me well inside top 20. Can"t complain too much though! ;)

dwh103 (original) - possibly not searchable, but on table 3189
-
Double sigh, Another 94k pot - 66 v AK. Board J94J9 - I even had 2 of his outs covered with a flush draw.
-
QQ v AK - lost again. 166k pot.
I would be so far in front if these 3 had held (would be around 660-700k mark).
-
Out in 5,068th. Min cash.
550k"s worth of flips I was on the right side of (when average stack around 100k), before running the rest of my stack into Aces when I had TT.
I hate QQ v AK.
Another day I"m chipleader in this fecking tournament. GAGAGHAGHAGAHGAHGAHGAHGAHAGARHGAHRGAHRGAHRGAHRA

Unlucky sir, sick run of hands there
-
fml - made some mistakes....min cash.
-
.... well played to those who cashed ...
Only 116 left ... from 59,128 ... not bad for 10 hours ...
Would love to watch the end ... need to get on a train!

Clearly increasing the field from usual c8,000 to 60,000 doesn"t have as great an impact on the tournament timing as I thought it would. 9:20am and they are down to bubble for last two tables.
-
ouch - feel a bit sorry for pbrsquad.... he"s a low stakes winning player who mostly plays SNGs (Have played hundreds with him) in and around $11 buy in........ he just bubbled the final table.
Button raises, pbrsquad shoves from the BB with AJ and btn calls with 88 - a huge call given the stack sizes - the shove was pretty massive. Calling with a mid-pair there has to be -EV me thinks. Board runs out xxJJ.......8 ouch
Final table not played a hand before the clock got stopped to discuss a chop - not really surprising given the 9th place pays $47k and 1st pays over $1.6m - huge gap.
-
I"m chopping based on those number. Don"t care which player I am. ;D
-
Standard payout
1st - $1,655,629
2nd - $1,182,560
3rd - $792,315
4th - $449,372
5th - $271,988
6th - $153,732
7th - $107,612
8th - $72,136
9th - $41,389
-

Jan10004 (36m) - $311,023
Battmeister (30m) - $263,888
-
all agreed except the guy sat 4th who is pondering.... really don"t understand why.... he"s in as spot where he just about exceeds his positional $EV - would be daft to turn that down
-
Loving the slowroll from zeurr ;D
-
zeurr - I want 650,000
A few comments back......
zeurr - ok I want 600,000
-
nice try, but what a donk.
deal done on the counts
-
Final deal. Just playing for the car.

Great line from Stars Staff
Daleroxxu [TeamOnline]: sick deal making skills zeurrr
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
-
Battmeister - pushing everyone to deal..... he just raped the banker and sold a $41k box for $263k - nice job!
-
Over in less than an hour ?
-
I think I would have agreed from any position there. Too much money to lose on a coinflip. Stacks just aren"t deep enough.
Would have like to have seen them play on for a bit just to see Zeurrr negotiate again a few spots down the line.
-
now i see why zeurr didn"t want to deal - he is cranking the RNG!!
shoved with 88, overshoves come from TT and AK.
board QJ4...A........8
-
Gotta love the last UK player in the game - Sheppyshape.... total winnings on Stars are $770 with an ROI of -57%. Plays only between $2 and $12 games...... $465k will make his earnings graph a little interesting!
-
There are some sick redraws going on here.
Reminds me of most hands I was on the wrong end of last night. Glad they chopped it, wouldn"t want this sort of money at stake with these turn and river cards. ;D
-

Indeed - would have been so painful.
UK guy was chippie with 4 left, and got in with AT v A9 and lost a huge chunk of stack.... bet he"s relieved the deal was done already :)
-
What a sick headsup - winner takes all for a $200k Lamborghini Gallardo!
UK guy came 2nd - USA won :(

the blinds and anti dictate when a comp finishes not how many runners

I am pretty sure the number of runners must have some effect!
If you double the number of runners you need to wait for the blinds and antes to double to get to the same point -all other things equal ...

Didnt watch the final table, but what time did it finish in the end? and how deep were stacks etc once the final started.

there just been the UKIPT with over 1000 runners 15k starting stack 1hr clock 2 day1 and a day 2 and a final table on the 3rd day ,compare that to the GUKPT had about 300 runners 15k starting stack 1hr clock 2 day1 and a day 2 with the final on the 3rd day

been thinking about this a bit - clearly when there are more runners, there are more tables, more hands in parallel, and therefore more concurrent knockouts.... it"s only when the tables start to diminish that the tourney slows down as there are less knockouts in parallel - so yes I agree with Alan... the impact of more runners has a minimal effect on the length of the tourney.
-
Well......the standard sunday millions finishes at 8.00 am - 9.00 am. And this one was at least 3 hours later. But with a feild size of almost 10x, guess it only made a slight bit of difference, but it was still a difference. And i predicted it would be around midday.

well done will.
shame the prize for predicting the finish time doesn"t match that for still being in at the finish time

I wasn"t paying close enough attention then ;)
I"m sure I saw that at some point someone had 100x - probably not when table was full then :)

I think we are in agreement that the biggest factor is the blind structure ... however as you get to mega fields the tournaments speed up due to there being lots of qualifiers ... how long did it take to get from two tables to one ... given an early chop likely ... I would have thought it would slow down a lot ... also once you have a 9 way chop then things will speed up a lot ... if no chop it may have run a lot longer ...
Anyway see you at the final table next year!
L
-
Ive actually won money on predicting times before, just prop bets with mates and stuff like that.
If they didnt do a 9 handed deal then it would of gone on evan longer, the ladders between 6th place and upwards are more than most people make in a year!
-
Just reading now that zeurrr ( dutch guy who asked for at least 600k in the chop when he was in 4th place at the time) is just 17 yrs old, he qualifed for the tourny for $2 but looks like he may have all the winnings taken away because he lied about his age. sick for him if it true.

A lesson learned indeed.
-
interesting that they allow the account to be setup by a 17 year old, they take his rake (perhaps have been doing for some time), but when it comes to a big win, see fit to take the high ground and confiscate.
-
Theres massive threads about it on other forums. The young kid was updating his progress as he went deeper, and then it came about that he is just 17, but since then hes been saying that it was his dad playing or somthing like that.
Stars will probably take his winnings and block the account according to some. On the other hand, if he didnt win money and his parents complained to stars about them letting him play, i bet they wouldnt refund his losses.
