When you get to final 4 you can do a chop and sell the lambo to someone else

If 30000 runners

300m chips in play.

Final table - Average c33m chips - say 20 BB average - Level 42 is 700k/1400k (140k) - 15 mins levels.

So final table after about 11.5 hours??

Finish at 11am UK??

(I have a meeting in Edinburgh at 11am!)

Take it Down.

The sunday mill usually finishes around 8.30 am GMT, so with 4 x the ammount of runners it surley is gonna be still going at lunch time at least i would of though.
On the stars blog it says that when it is over, the winner will be asked if he wants the Lambo, if he doesnt then it will go to second place. Who the hell is going to turn down the car??

Yeah fair enough - maybe a little light in my estimate of how long the final table might last ...

Might be some protracted chop discussions too ...

Sigh, 17 hands in and already seen KK and AA. Really don"t want them at this time.

Statistically I will now have to wait another 204 hands to see them again ;)

Up to 12k though early, it"s a nice buffer I suppose.

message on stars table

sunday mill current prizepool is $10m

double the guarantee  :o

reg open until 11.30 - currently playing $11 quarter mill so should i go deep (900 out of 16k and 5.4k paid) i might be able to buy in at last minute

maybe

max runners is 65000 and currently at 51000 runners

It"s completely mad ... you have to love it ... once they get to 60001 runners they pay 8750 ... at the moment 7450th gets 0.003% of the fund!

Mental note to play it next year!

Any deal on the final table must leave the Lamborghini for the winner ...

Out in 5,068th. Min cash.

550k"s worth of flips I was on the right side of (when average stack around 100k), before running the rest of my stack into Aces when I had TT.

I hate QQ v AK.

ouch - feel a bit sorry for pbrsquad.... he"s a low stakes winning player who mostly plays SNGs (Have played hundreds with him) in and around $11 buy in........ he just bubbled the final table.

Button raises, pbrsquad shoves from the BB with AJ and btn calls with 88 - a huge call given the stack sizes - the shove was pretty massive. Calling with a mid-pair there has to be -EV me thinks.  Board runs out xxJJ.......8 ouch

Final table not played a hand before the clock got stopped to discuss a chop - not really surprising given the 9th place pays $47k and 1st pays over $1.6m - huge gap.

I am pretty sure the number of runners must have some effect!

If you double the number of runners you need to wait for the blinds and antes to double to get to the same point -all other things equal ...

Clearly increasing the field from usual c8,000 to 60,000 doesn"t have as great an impact on the tournament timing as I thought it would. 9:20am and they are down to bubble for last two tables.

the blinds and anti dictate when a comp finishes not how many runners

I am pretty sure the number of runners must have some effect!

If you double the number of runners you need to wait for the blinds and antes to double to get to the same point -all other things equal ...

there just been the UKIPT with over 1000 runners 15k starting stack 1hr clock 2 day1 and a day 2 and a final table on the 3rd day ,compare that to the GUKPT had about 300 runners  15k starting stack 1hr clock 2 day1  and a day 2 with the final on the 3rd day

been thinking about this a bit - clearly when there are more runners, there are more tables, more hands in parallel, and therefore more concurrent knockouts.... it"s only when the tables start to diminish that the tourney slows down as there are less knockouts in parallel - so yes I agree with Alan... the impact of more runners has a minimal effect on the length of the tourney.

Well......the standard sunday millions finishes at 8.00 am - 9.00 am. And this one was at least 3 hours later. But with a feild size of almost 10x, guess it only made a slight bit of difference, but it was still a difference. And i predicted it would be around midday.

well done will.

shame the prize for predicting the finish time doesn"t match that for still being in at the finish time

Didnt watch the final table, but what time did it finish in the end? and how deep were stacks etc once the final started.

12:06 finish

stacks at start of final ranged from 10x to 100x

I thought BB was 2.5mil and largest stack was just over 100mil (see Leigh's post above)

I wasn"t paying close enough attention then ;)

I"m sure I saw that at some point someone had 100x - probably not when table was full then :)

I think we are in agreement that the biggest factor is the blind structure ... however as you get to mega fields the tournaments speed up due to there being lots of qualifiers ... how long did it take to get from two tables to one ... given an early chop likely ... I would have thought it would slow down a lot ... also once you have a 9 way chop then things will speed up a lot ... if no chop it may have run a lot longer ...

Anyway see you at the final table next year!

Ive actually won money on predicting times before, just prop bets with mates and stuff like that.
If they didnt do a 9 handed deal then it would of gone on evan longer, the ladders between 6th place and upwards are more than most people make in a year!

Just reading now that zeurrr ( dutch guy who asked for at least 600k in the chop when he was in 4th place at the time) is just 17 yrs old, he qualifed for the tourny for $2 but looks like he may have all the winnings taken away because he lied about his age. sick for him if it true.

A lesson learned indeed.

interesting that they allow the account to be setup by a 17 year old, they take his rake (perhaps have been doing for some time), but when it comes to a big win, see fit to take the high ground and confiscate.

Theres massive threads about it on other forums. The young kid was updating his progress as he went deeper, and then it came about that he is just 17, but since then hes been saying that it was his dad playing or somthing like that.
Stars will probably take his winnings and block the account according to some. On the other hand, if he didnt win money and his parents complained to stars about them letting him play, i bet they wouldnt refund his losses.
