When
On Thursday 14th April at 7:30pm, we will be running a $1000 freeroll tournament, exclusively for APAT members. This tournament will be alias protected. To get your alias in the running for this freeroll, all you have to do is place a bet of $10 or more on this years John Smith"s Grand National through your 888poker account.
How
When in the poker lobby, click on the "sports" button in the bottom right hand section, and you will be redirected to the 888sportsbook pages. Login using your poker alias and password, and you will be able to place your bet on the John Smith"s Grand National using your poker account.
Post your alias on this thread to confirm, and that"s you done. Registration for the freeroll will open from Monday 11th April, and will only be available to those members that have posted on this thread and placed the required bet on the John Smith"s Grand National. How"s that for value ?

From Saturday 2nd April, 888 go, non-runner, no bet, so your selections are safe.
Final market should be available from around midday on Thursday 7th April.
Terms and Conditions
Only Win or Eachway bets on the outright market of the John Smiths Grand National will count for this promotion.
Grand National Specials market bets do not count towards this promotion.
The minimum qualifiying bet must be an individual bet of either $10 to win or $5 each way.
Members must post their 888poker alias on this thread to confirm opting into this promotion.
It is the players responsibility to register for the freeroll prior to the tournament commencing. Neither APAT nor 888poker take any responsibility for any physical or technical reason why a player is unable to register for the freeroll tournament.
APAT reserves the right to amend details of this promotion at any time.

If you get auto login failure, it should still direct you to the sportsbook page, and you just have to manually login in with your poker id and password. Fingers crossed. ;D

I"ve spoken to customer services and they couldn"t help either. Might have to give up on this which is annoying as I like a gamble ;D

can confirm I have this issue too...and cst service told me you need to open a new account just for sports...but then someone form 888 on here said you didn"t need to...but to date haven"t managed to log into sports from wherever.
hope a solution is found.

ok I tried this on my laptop, which is newer and more powerful. Managed to get to the sports page but it still wouldn"t allow my username and password. I know they are correct so I"m stuck now :(

Did you ever have an account with Pacific Poker if so it may require your original username and password. Not sure just a guess?

Thanks for the suggestion but this is where I am having the problem. Even when I manage to get onto the sportsbook it says my user id and/or password don"t exist. I seem to be having the same issues as Don. I can"t log on at work - my boss would totally kill me and then I"d have to miss Cardiff, which would be a shame ;D

I tried last night, no good and again this morning with no luck. Tried again 10 minutes later and it worked.
The first few times I tried I would click on the Grand National tab on the 888 home page which did not work.
This morning a clicked on the racing tab on the left hand side, don't know if that made a difference

2nd try I also could not get in but I then closed the Poker prog, closed IE, opened Poker logged in, clicked the link and was in again - wish I had not managed it lol first Race lost $10, chasing losses FTW :-)

I had this page last night just before it worked and got this again today. I clicked the "not recommened" option and got this

I then logged on using my poker username and password and after a few gos where it was not recognised, I was finally recognised.
I think the problem is that there are different terms and conditions on the sports book compared to the poker site and I had to agree to them before I could place any bets.
[ ] After the "10% a month farce" I read them 4 times and 28 hours later I have committed them to memory
[ x ] just insta clicked OK ;D
It appears I can only use the sports book if I log in via the poker site and ignore all the above warnings.
Still managed to get a few $ on Always Waining in the Topham so it was worth it in the end.

can confirm I have this issue too...and cst service told me you need to open a new account just for sports...but then someone form 888 on here said you didn"t need to...but to date haven"t managed to log into sports from wherever.
hope a solution is found.

Can"t believe that I lost every game I played today... Not a bean won. Even to the point were I was 10c short to play in tonights Fives competition.

I folded a small pair on the second hand and also ac :3c: the first HU hand. I was confused because of the top/bottom seating instead of left/right. Good few hands anyway... Good experience for me though. Shows that I can do more than get to FT... Sorry about thinking I had won during the HU.. Ha Ha

Thoroughly enjoyed this last night despite bubbling again lol . It was right on 9.40pm when i met my fateful end, shoving with A 7s into 10 10. Spent my last 2 levels scrambling around trying to get washed & ready for nightshift at 10pm so got busted out just in time to miss the cash but get to work on time :D
