Not possible as game has gone ahead mate

Oh I beg to differ, people cut off for 20 minutes, others for longer, I am sure the APAT team will see sense.

Guys,
It would appear that we have been hit by 888poker technical difficulties, again.
First of all, let me apologise on behalf of 888poker and APAT for the problems tonight. I am awaiting a response from 888poker, but from what I can gather, everyone was disconnected, and then only around half of the players were able to log back on.
Based on what I have seen so far with the numbers sat out, it would not be fair for the results to stand for any league points.
As far as payouts and buyins go, I will have to wait for a response from 888poker before I can make a further announcement.

Dont think it will be up to APAT , 888"s call IMO , but agree its a joke if they dont refund

Seemed more of a three-stage thing on our table Leigh. First no-one, then 2 of us, then 3-4 more about 15 mins later.

I have a response from 888poker. The two key points that will be of interest to APAT players are :-
- Major inspection and steps are being taken to source the problem and rectify with a permanent solution that prevents this. (It is not the same issue as any prior temporary connections which were already resolved)
- All players effected by the disconnection will be compensated in some way and contacted by support. This may take up to 48 hours.
I will liaise with 888poker with the aim to reschedule Matchday 7.

$11 refund end of, surely? What is some other way? Shall wait and see!
if it isn"t $11 not be impressed tbh
-
Well done Leigh...I think being logical about this, people must understand that what happened is out of APAT's control.
-
I was on 2900 chips when it all froze and was not able to get back in at all, another player in our team spent the best part of an hour playing heads-up, surely we will get refunded.
-
Have to agree with Brian, well done Leigh on your quick response, must be an absolute nightmare for you. I for one will back Apat regardless of whatever is decided by 888 regarding these tournaments. I guess if 888 get it wrong we can all make our own choice what to do in the future, but it certainly should not be seen as a minus point to Apat, without whom we would not be playing the tourney in the first place.
-
Who blamed APAT? Obv nothing to do with APAT.
I"m usually one of the first to advertise and promote 888 - it"s generally a great site to play on..... but it is getting a bit boring to keep having these issues, and whilst I know connectivity issues are part and parcel of online play, 888 seems to be having far more than it"s fair share.
-
Makes me laugh people booting off at losing their buyin.
Personally I don"t care about my $11, they can have a beer or two on me.
What I am worried about are my team members who are losing the love and are saying they"re not going to play again.
Anything that 888 can do or APAT to make them want to play again would be greatfully appreciated.
x
-
I just find it a bit odd that the only two problems I have had with the site crashing have both been Sunday night when trying to play the league game. I play nearly every day since APAT went to 888 and have never had any problems..

Despite the previous crash, we all joined the 888 online game tonight, with the view that lightening wont strike twice
This may have been the last game for many APAT members. Its one thing to get knocked out, but quite another to be knocked out by the hosting site. How can a site crash but the clock keep running ?
Refunds? Unlikely as some players were not affected
No confidence in this site now, will take mucho asskissing to get me back.
-
I know that $11 is not a lot of money in the big scheme of things, however there is a principle at stake here with regards refunds. In essence, we are are gambling, and one of the unwritten rules of gambling, is ;
If it is impossible for you to win, then it is impossible for you to lose.(all stakes returned)
On that basis,I will be extremely disappointed if my buy in is not refunded in full.
I shall wait to see what 888 offer, and make my decision thereafter, as to whether I continue with the site.
-
I wrote to 888 last night asking for my $11 back, as well as the $22 I had spent on the $6k.
I understand that all those left in the $6k were given an equal share of the prize pool at time of decision - but that decision was made some time after the crash.... so not much good for those of us that blinded out between the time of the crash and time of decision to abandon the tourney!
-
Both Div1 and Div2 games are in the 888 foyer as "completed" with the prize money paid out.
-
Thanks for posting the 888 response Leigh. Just time to wait now until they contact all parties concerned.
It was the Cassova network that fell down last night - is this 888, or is it another tier above their skin and above their own immediate control?
I have no problem with continuing to play on 888 and have not heard any complaints from Team Carlisle players. You have to accept that with online poker, there are going to be some IT difficulties at times. As long as 888 handle the fallout in a proper manner.
As for booting off and some of the knee-jerk reactions, I can"t see how they help.
Sure, APAT could go looking for another partner but I"m sure they did some research and made a judgement call as to the best offer on the table. I don"t think that two league games crashing is a sufficient reason to abandon all hope of 888Poker.
And some players may not continue to play on because of this; well that is the nature of people and cannot be controlled by APAT. IMO, it is up to Team Captains to relay information amongst team members, inform them of any 888/APAT decisions, and as it always has been - encourage them to join the team for future games.
-
In the spirit of APAT, why dont the "winning players" hand the money back ? after all, there is not one of them who didnt steal blinds from the sleepers, to attain their position. I am i just being too romantic,or is the ethos of fair play dead ?
-
And another thing ,I paid exactly the same buy in as "The Cashees", but, ability aside, I did not have the same chance to win, due to being locked out. Therefore, the tourney should be void and all buy ins returned
-
If 888 want to pay out the winners, that is fine.....so long as all the losers who couldnt even get back in get paid $11 too.
-

Agreed, would be most harsh on those that didn"t experience any tech issue not to be paid out. 888 have to take it on the chin, and thus also pay those who couldn"t continue the buy in back or at least an equally tournament token.

lol i just posted one somewhere else too , will remove mine to save confusion , same email anyway

although no refund in the account yet , am i expecting to much ha ha

cassanova network he must have been on the job
-
My experience of 888 support is mixed. Emailing is a complete waste of time as issues are rarely resolved and so far always beyond the promised 48 hours.
I do find that live chat is the best way to get things resolved, though they can be a bit slow on the uptake.
I remember complaining about a rebuy glitch in the software and how not being able to purchase an add on had wrecked my tourney. After a bit of tooing and froing they refunded me my buyin and the 2 rebuys I had bought, even though I was still in the tourney (albeit micro stacked).
What I am really trying to say is that, despite the frustration of the APAT game last night, these crashes happen. But in general the site has a lot of integrity and goes the extra mile to try and keep customers happy. I"m pretty sure that 888 will do the right thing here and talk of never playing the site again does not really help anyone.
-
The people who have lost their buy-in, probably need to ask for it back from support.
-
rob you r a genius i agree withyou 1 hundred persent well said sir
-
As a few have said , money to be refunded, all points for the games last night to be disallowed and winnings to be kept by the players , its 888"s fault so they should be the ones to lose some money, not fair on the teams and players who were sat out so back to square one LOl
As it this will happen ::) ::)

888 will more thn likely be able to claim conequential loss from the network, so they more than likely will not lose out by paying back buy-ins.

Good news on the $11... bad news on the $600 ;D

I gave them a friendly phone call... They was happy to reimburse me the buy back.. ( they also gave me a $599 bonus for the trouble, they reckon that some greedy beggars had been asking for $600!!.. sigh) :D

me: I believe everyone else was too

Paulo S.: Yes. We had some disconnection issues yesterday.
Paulo S.: Please bear with me. I am checking your game history.
Paulo S.: Thank you for waiting, Stuart.
me: no problem
Paulo S.: I have seen on your game history that you experienced a disconnection on tour 31669697 yesterday.

Paulo S.: In this case, this did not happen.
Paulo S.: We can do it manually, Stuart.
me: ok, thanks
Paulo S.: Within the next hour, the buy-in refund will be done.
me: thank you
Paulo S.: Is there anything else I can assist you with, in the meantime?

ditto, but was told id need to wait 24hrs, as all refunds would be done at the same time. i stated that i was aware some had already been refunded -she adamanment this wouldnt be the case.
i couldnt be bothered to argue anymore!....i"ll get the refund witihn 24hr no doubt. shame it happened in the 1st place
onwards and upwards

Although I was only disconnected for only a minute, my game was also ruined. I was sat out for over 15 minutes in total when others on other tables was playing on (taking the blinds) so by the time I started to play I was already at a disadvantage to the rest. Every one should be given there money back including the ones who actually played to the end.

Cannot understand this tbh, surely all they need to do is void the two tournaments and refund all buy-ins, why do people have to waste time chasing up with phone calls and e-mails to get back what is morally theirs. And for those who say well yes but they have paid out the winners, well that"s business I am afraid and not the fault of the people that had no possibility of winning, perhaps it will encourage better practice by 888 in the future.

I"ve had an email from 888 as follows...
"Due to a systems upgrade you may have experienced problems connecting to 888poker temporarily on 03/07/2011.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused & would like to offer you free entry to 8 special $1,000 Jumpin" July Freerolls on 5, 6, 7 & 8/07 @ 18:05 & 21:35 GMT."
So they are accepting responsibility and the offer of 8 freerolls isn"t really a bad one.

My email didn"t mention a refund of the $11 I think the freerolls are instead of which I think is poor.
I almost certainly won"t play them and even if I did I"d be unlikely to "win" $11.

just been in touch with 888 they have now put $11 back in my acc for sundays game.
